Today Is the Day is an American noise rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. They have a diverse sound that includes influences from alternative rock, grindcore, and progressive rock among other genres. Lyrical themes include extreme violence, altered states of consciousness, personal struggles, depression, warfare and mental problems such as psychosis, among others.
The band was founded by Steve Austin and Brad Elrod in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1990s. The band released its debut EP, entitled How to Win Friends and Influence People, in 1992. This self-financed release garnered the attention of Amphetamine Reptile Records (AmRep) who signed the band (at this time consisting of Austin on vocals and guitar, Brad Elrod on drums, and Mike Herrell on bass guitar) in February 1993. The full-length Supernova was released later that year.
In September 1994, Today Is the Day saw its popularity in the metal underground increase with the release of their second album, entitled Willpower. That same year, Willpower was followed by the Clusterfuck '94 split EP with labelmates Chokebore and Guzzard. Today Is the Day also contributed to the tenth volume of AmRep's Dope Guns and Fucking in the Streets 7" series with Brainiac and Steel Pole Bath Tub.

Plot: Jennie, a terrier, has it all -- but leaves home after deciding there must be more to life. In a distant town, she learns that the Mother Goose Theatre needs a leading lady. She applies; the manager tells her she lacks experience. She's not sure what that is, but sets out to get it. A cat who drives a milk truck provides Jennie with breakfast and a ride to a white house that's in need of a nanny; the catch is that if the nanny can't get the baby to eat, it's down to the basement where a lion resides. Can Jennie gain the experience she needs without becoming the lion's lunch? And, indeed, is there more to life, or in a land of lions and squalling babies, is there no place like home?

Plot: Shirley, an old box turtle, meets a very lost raccoon, named Fernando Hernandafandavez, and helps him discover the magic of spring. Together they learn the truth about a little fawn who sleeps alone in the woods. Is the fawn lost? Watch as live video is combined with photography from the award-winning children's book Lost in the Woods, by Michigan authors Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick. This delightful tale shows what happens to a fawn in its first few weeks of life, with vivid images of spring and live, behavioral footage of forest animals. Original songs include a lounge-singing tree frog's jazzy tune, 'The Signs of Spring,' and a comforting lullaby sung by Mother Doe to her fawn before she leaves him alone in the grasses.

Genres: Comedy,As I did walk by Hampstead Fair
I came upon Mother Goose -- so I turned her loose --
she was screaming.
And a foreign student said to me --
was it really true there are elephants and lions too
in Piccadilly Circus?
Walked down by the bathing pond
to try and catch some sun.
Saw at least a hundred schoolgirls sobbing
into hankerchiefs as one.
I don't believe they knew
I was a schoolboy.
And a bearded lady said to me --
if you start your raving and your misbehaving --
you'll be sorry.
Then the chicken-fancier came to play --
with his long red beard (and his sister's weird:
she drives a lorry).
Laughed down by the putting green --
I popped `em in their holes.
Four and twenty labourers were labouring --
digging up their gold.
I don't believe they knew
that I was Long John Silver.
Saw Johnny Scarecrow make his rounds
in his jet-black mac (which he won't give back) --
stole it from a snow man.
