Chief Executive Dunya News Mian Amir Mehmood has been honoured with Hilal-e-Imtiaz on Pakistan Day for his outstanding services in the field of education.
Mian Amir was born on 25 July 1960 in Model Town, Lahore. He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of the Punjab.
He laid foundation of Punjab Group of Colleges in 1985, which has been expanded in more than 12 cities of the country.
Later, he established University of Central Punjab in Lahore. He is also Chancellor of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University Karachi.
Mian Amir had also served as District Nazim Lahore twice

Ahmad Faraz, (born Syed Ahmad Shah on 12 January 1931 in Kohat; died 25 August 2008, buried in Islamabad) was a great Urdu poet of 20th century. He was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-i-Imtiaz. He studied in famous Edwards College, Peshawar and did masters in Urdu and Persian from Peshawar University and became lecturer at the Peshawar University.
Ahmad Faraz was a romantic lyricist, progressively radical and revolutionary poet. He was arrested and victimized for writing poems that criticized military rulers in Pakistan during the era of General Ayyub Khan, General Zia-ul-Haq and General Pervaiz Musharraf. Following his arrest in era of Zia-ul-Haq, he went into exile. He stayed for 6 years in Britain, Canada and Europe before returning to Pakistan, where he was initially appointed Chairman, Pakistan Academy of Letters and later Chairperson of the Islamabad-based National Book Foundation for several years. He has been awarded with numerous national and international awards. In 2006, he returned the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award he was given in 2004.
Maintaining a tradition established by his mentor, the revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Ahmad Faraz wrote some of his best poetry during his days in exile. Famous amongst poetry of resistance has been "Mohasara".

مشتاق احمد يوسفی(Mustaq yusufi) is an outstanding Urdu satirical and humor writer from Pakistan regarded by many as best Urdu Humorist. Yousufi has also served as the head of several national and international governmental and financial institutions. He received Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz, the highest literary honors by Government of Pakistan in 1999.

Yousufi Sahib's second book was Khakam ba dahan (Dust in my mouth) which was published in 1969 and dedicated to his wife, Idrees Fatema. So far 14 editions of this book have been printed. It has eight articles, in addition to a foreword written by the author.
* Zarguzasht (1976)
Yousufi's third book was Zarguzasht which was published in 1976. It has 11 articles in addition to the foreword, 'Tuzk-i-Yousufi'.
* Aab-i-gum (1990)
His fourth book, Aab-i-gum, was published in 1990. Dedicated to his children, Arshad, Sarosh, Rukhsana and Seema, it runs into 404 pages and has five articles, in addition to the foreword.
First two won Adamjee Prize, while last one got the Hijra Award as well as Pakistan Academy of Letters Award for best book, 1990. Awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz.

Ahmad Faraz was a romantic lyricist, progressively radical and revolutionary poet. He was arrested and victimized for writing poems that criticized military rulers in Pakistan during the era of General Ayyub Khan, General Zia-ul-Haq and General Pervaiz Musharraf. Following his arrest in era of Zia-ul-Haq, he went into exile. He stayed for 6 years in Britain, Canada and Europe before returning to Pakistan, where he was initially appointed Chairman, Pakistan Academy of Letters and later Chairperson of the Islamabad-based National Book Foundation for several years. He has been awarded with numerous national and international awards. In 2006, he returned the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award he was given in 2004. مشتاق احمد يوسفی(Mustaq yusufi) is an outstanding Urdu satirical and humor writer from Pakistan regarded by many as best Urdu Humorist. Yousufi has also served as the head of several national and international governmental and financial institutions. He received Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz, the highest literary honors by Government of Pakistan in 1999.
Literary work
* Chiragh talay (1961)
* Khakam-ba-dahan (1969)
Yousufi Sahib's second book was Khakam ba dahan (Dust in my mouth) which was published in 1969 and dedicated to his wife, Idrees Fatema. So far 14 editions of this book have been printed. It has eight articles, in addition to a foreword written by the author.
* Zarguzasht (1976)
Yousufi's third book was Zarguzasht which was published in 1976. It has 11 articles in addition to the foreword, 'Tuzk-i-Yousufi'.
* Aab-i-gum (1990)
His fourth book, Aab-i-gum, was published in 1990. Dedicated to his children, Arshad, Sarosh, Rukhsana and Seema, it runs into 404 pages and has five articles, in addition to the foreword.
First two won Adamjee Prize, while last one got the Hijra Award as well as Pakistan Academy of Letters Award for best book, 1990. Awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
