Fethiye - Kaş sınırında, ikinci yüzyılda Likya Birliği'nin idare merkezi olan Xanthos, geçmişte yaşadığı acılar nedeniyle yok olmuş bir şehir.
Xanthosu ilk kimler ve ne zaman kurdu. Bu konuda henüz tam bir bilgiye sahip olmasak da, milattan önce beşinci yüzyılda var olduğu bilinmektedir.
Milattan Önce 545 yılında, bugün Kınık ovası olarak bilinen ve Patara'ya kadar uzanan, o dönemin Xanthos ovasının geniş düzlüğünde on binlerce askerden oluşan dev bir ordu belirir.
Beşinci yüzyılda tüm dünyaya korku salan Persliler, Xanthos Şehrine saldırmak için hazırlanıyordu. Perslilerin başında, acımasızlığı ve üstün savaş taktikleri ile bilinen komutan Harpagos vardır. Xanthos halkı için kaçınılmaz son yaklaşıyordu.
Ama öyle olmaz. Xanthos, halkından beklemediği bir direniş görür. Persliler tarafından yapılan tüm hamleler başarısız olur. Savaş tüm acımasızlığı ile devam ederken Xanthos halkının direnecek hali kalmaz, ama yinede teslim olmazlar.
Xanthos şehri tamamen yanmaktadır. İçeride bulunan tüm halk yanmaya başladığı anda son bir can havli ile Perslilere saldırırlar. Son hamleyi yapan bir kaç Xanthos askeri Perslilerin karşısında dayanamaz ve hepsi kılıştan geçer.
Sonunda Persliler başarıya ulaşır ve savaşı kazanır ama geride ne kalmış olabilir ki? Tamamen kül olmuş bir şehir, işe yaramaz taş yapılar. Xanthos adeta yok olmuştur.

Maggiore velocità di riarmo significa minor tempo tra un tiro: ecco il grande vantaggio del BFL. Il risultato è un fucile veloce, velocissimo... un grandissimo vantaggio per i nostri cacciatori!

With Xanthos Breda ha also improved the way to reload a semiauto. The sistem is in fact faster and more reliable which allow the hunter to shot the gun in rapid succession. Also, the gun is "ready to shoot" very quickly and this is a big advantage in many hunting scenarios... Another big advantage fro Breda to its customers!
Warning: When you use a gun be sure to discharge it. Check always also inside the chambre.

Xanthos was a center of culture and commerce for the Lycians, and later for the Persians, Greeks, including Macedonians, and Romans who in turn conquered the city and occupied the adjacent territory. After the fall of the Byzantine Empire in the 15th century, the region became Turkish. The ancient city had long since been abandoned.
As the capital of ancient Lycia and the site of its most extensive antiquities, Xanthos has been a mecca for students of Anatolian civilization since the early 19th century.
Although Charles Fellows carried away most of the finds of Xanthos (now in the British Museum) many interesting monuments and structures remain, including two of the most interesting tombs in Lycia.
The site has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.
The ruins of Xanthos are located near the town Kinik, in Antalya Province, Turkey.

Xanthos
Xanthos (Lycian: Arñna, Greek: Ξάνθος, Latin: Xanthus, Turkish: Ksantos) was the name of a city in ancient Lycia, the site of present-day Kınık, Antalya Province, Turkey, and of the river on which the city is situated. The ruins of Xanthus are on the south slopes of a hill, the ancient acropolis, located on the northern outskirts of the modern city, on the left bank of the Xanthus, which flows beneath the hill. A single road, Xantos yolu, encircles the hill and runs through the ruins.
Xanthos is the Greek appellation of Arñna, a city originally speaking the Lycian language. The Hittite and Luwian name of the city is given in inscriptions as Arinna (not to be confused with the Arinna near Hattusa). Xanthos is a Greek name, acquired during its Hellenization. The Romans called the city Xanthus, as all the Greek -os suffixes were changed to -us in Latin. Xanthos was a center of culture and commerce for the Lycians, and later for the Persians, Greeks and Romans who in turn conquered the city and occupied the adjacent territory. After the fall of the Byzantine Empire in the 15th century, the region became Turkish. The ancient city had long since been abandoned.

Fethiye - Kaş sınırında, ikinci yüzyılda Likya Birliği'nin idare merkezi olan Xanthos, geçmişte yaşadığı acılar nedeniyle yok olmuş bir şehir.
Xanthosu ilk kimler ve ne zaman kurdu. Bu konuda henüz tam bir bilgiye sahip olmasak da, milattan önce beşinci yüzyılda var olduğu bilinmektedir.
Milattan Önce 545 yılında, bugün Kınık ovası olarak bilinen ve Patara'ya kadar uzanan, o dönemin Xanthos ovasının geniş düzlüğünde on binlerce askerden oluşan dev bir ordu belirir.
Beşinci yüzyılda tüm dünyaya korku salan Persliler, Xanthos Şehrine saldırmak için hazırlanıyordu. Perslilerin başında, acımasızlığı ve üstün savaş taktikleri ile bilinen komutan Harpagos vardır. Xanthos halkı için kaçınılmaz son yaklaşıyordu.
Ama öyle olmaz. Xanthos, halkından beklemediği bir direniş görür. Persliler tarafından yapılan tüm hamleler başarısız olur. Savaş tüm acımasızlığı ile devam ederken Xanthos halkının direnecek hali kalmaz, ama yinede teslim olmazlar.
