Oprah Gail Winfrey, born January 29, 1954, is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she has been ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is now North America's first and only multi-billionaire Black. Several assessments regard her as the most influential woman in the world. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard.
Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood. She has stated that she was molested during her childhood and early teens and became pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber in Tennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime-talk-show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.

Oprah had powerful words of wisdom for the graduating class of 2016 at Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina. The event was particularly close to Oprah's heart because two students from the inaugural class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls South Africa were part of the commencement ceremony. In 2002, Oprah says, she visited Nelson Mandela, who encouraged her to build the Leadership Academy. "Nothing would keep me from being here to celebrate the promise that I made to Nelson Mandela over 10 years ago," Oprah says. Sharing a story from her own childhood about how she realized that she had a greater calling, Oprah stresses the importance of always trusting your inner voice. Oprah interview JK Rowling in Scotland in this television special. Enjoy! I Do Not Own Any Rights To This.
This is such a great and emotional interview. From 17:33 we hear some people from the audience making some comments and the way Ellen (and Oprah) deal with these is very elegant. Don't know if I found these comments more disturbing than what I heard from some TV preachers in this documentary about Ellen at 7:18: https://youtu.be/MKfJdLsBBoE

Dr. Burke will discuss latest results in measuring terrestrial planet occurrence rates using the planet candidates discovered by the Kepler pipeline. For the first time an accurate model for the Kepler pipeline sensitivity to transiting planets is publicly available. Dr. Burke's new analysis finds higher planet occurrence rates and a steeper increase in planet occurrence ratestoward small planets than previously believed. In addition, Dr. Burke will identify the leading sources of systematics that remain impacting Kepler planet occurrence rate determinations and approaches for minimizing their impact in future studies. This work also sharpens our understanding on the dependence of planet occurrence rates on stellar effective temperature with potential implications for understanding the ...

Atlanta Braves 6 at Houston Astros 7, F/18 -- The 2005 Houston Astros needed just about everyone on their 40-man roster to land their Wild Card berth, so it is also fitting that the heroics came from a melting pot of Astros players. The Braves were ahead 6-1 in the eighth, when Lance Berkman launched a grand slam, followed by a game-tying solo shot by Brad Ausmus in the 9th. The second half of the game included three innings of relief by Roger Clemens, appearing as a pinch-hitter in the 15th, and pitching in relief for only the second time in his career (and appearing this time only because the Astros were out of pitchers). The collective efforts in this epic drama will be remembered for many things, the least of which is the fact that it was the longest postseason game in Major League his...

I'm in the process of trying to find a church that is hiring a worship leader, and this is my demo video.
Well you call again,
as if I don't know what you're going to say...
So let it ring,
I can count the cracks in the ceiling all day long.
I guess the birds they just went south,
but I've got no where to go,
it's 31 and falling,
I've been dreaming of you darling,
in case you'd like to know...
God damn my wasted time,
ringing all the bells.
If I could hold my tongue,
just long enough to get me through the door
then you won't know...
rewind the tape while your back is turned,
fold my arms and pull the curtains closed,
bury the roses in the backyard
and darlin' never mind what I might have said, before,
before,
God damn my wasted time,
ringing all the bells...
I've got half a mind to lie to you
half a mind to tell you everything I have to tell, to
tell, to tell.
I've been wasting my time I know I know better,
and I'm tired of waxing sentimental,
I'm tired of saying please, please,
tired of waiting,
I'm tired of waiting.
You call again,
