Jewellery or jewelry (/ˈdʒuːᵊlᵊri/) consists of small decorative items worn for personal adornment, such as brooches, rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Jewellery may be attached to the body or the clothes, and the term is restricted to durable ornaments, excluding flowers for example. For many centuries metal, often combined with gemstones, has been the normal material for jewellery, but other materials such as shells and other plant materials may be used. It is one of the oldest type of archaeological artefact – with 100,000-year-old beads made from Nassarius shells thought to be the oldest known jewellery. The basic forms of jewellery vary between cultures but are often extremely long-lived; in European cultures the most common forms of jewellery listed above have persisted since ancient times, while other forms such as adornments for the nose or ankle, important in other cultures, are much less common. Historically, the most widespread influence on jewellery in terms of design and style have come from Asia.
A museum (/mjuˈziːəm/; myoo-zee-um) is an institution that cares for (conserves) a collection of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance and makes them available for public viewing through exhibits that may be permanent or temporary. Most large museums are located in major cities throughout the world and more local ones exist in smaller cities, towns and even the countryside. Museums have varying aims, ranging from serving researchers and specialists to serving the general public. The goal of serving researchers is increasingly shifting to serving the general public.
Some of the most attended museums include the Louvre in Paris, the National Museum of China in Beijing, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the British Museum in London, the National Gallery in London and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. There are many types of museums, including art museums, natural history museums, science museums, war museums and children's museums.

Ilias Lalaounis (1920- 2013) was a Greek goldsmith, jeweler and jewel designer.
Ilias Lalaounis was born on October 4, 1920 in Athens, Greece. His family originated from Delphi. He was a fourth generation jeweller. He graduated from the University of Athens, where he studied Political Science and the Law.
Lalaouinis started his career as a jeweller by working for his uncle. In 1940, he took over the administration of his uncle’s firm "Zolotas" which he managed until 1968. All jewelry is designed by him. In 1968, he made his own firm named "Ilias Lalaounis- Greek Gold S.A.". A year later, in 1969, he founded his own firm "Greek Gold- Ilias Lalaounis S.A.". From 1957 until 2001, he counted more than 18.000 jewelry and micro-sculptures from 50 collections. Over the years, he opened more than 30 shops around the whole world. In 1986, he became the only jeweller ever to be inducted into the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
His work was inspired by ancient Greece. In 1994, he founded the Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum, located under the Acropolis rock in Athens. The Museum houses more than 4.000 exhibits, jewels and micro-sculptures. The museum building includes also a prototype jewelry workshop, coffee shop and the museum offices.

Renaissance Jewellery Ltd. is the Manufacturer & Distributor of Studded Jewellery in Gold, Silver, Platinum, Polished Diamonds, Colour Stones, Rings, Earrings The most important jewelry item from the Renaissance was the pendant. It replaced the Medieval brooch as being the most common jewel and was worn on a necklace, long gold chain, fixed to the dress or on a chain worn on the girdle.
An extraordinary and priceless collection of jewelry that was discovered in 1912 has been put on display in its entirety for the first time at the Museum of London. The cache of late 16th and early 17th century jewels is called the Cheapside Hoard. It contains more than 500 items including gemstones and precious materials from around the world that were buried in a cellar on Cheapside in the City of London. However, the identity of its owner remains a mystery since no one reclaimed the hidden treasure. The impressive level of skill and craftsmanship behind some of the items in this collection offers new insights into the Elizabethan and Jacobean times. A salamander brooch, a brass watch with calendar indications, and 30 gold and enameled necklaces are among the exceptional jewels on show...

The Treasury of National Jewels Museum is probably Tehran’s biggest tourist draw card, it houses a collection of the worlds most expensive jewels collected over centuries. But while the museum highlights a vast civilization, it also reflects on the "silent tears" of the Iranian people from bittersweet memories to victories and constant battles with corruption. Every piece bears testament to the long and tumultuous history of the nation. You may read stories and see photographs, but nothing will do it more justice than coming to gawp at the real thing.

A gemstone (also called a gem, fine gem, jewel, precious stone or semi-precious stone) is a piece of mineral crystal which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewelry or other adornments.[1][2] However, certain rocks (such as lapis lazuli) or organic materials that are not minerals (such as amber, jet, and pearl) are also used for jewelry and are therefore often considered to be gemstones as well. Most gemstones are hard, but some soft minerals are used in jewelry because of their luster or other physical properties that have aesthetic value. Rarity is another characteristic that lends value to a gemstone. Apart from jewelry, from earliest antiquity engraved gems and hardstone carvings, such as cups, were major luxury art forms. A gem maker is called a lapidary or gemcutter; a diamo...
