3D printers are finally coming down in price. As of writing, there are plenty of options that check in around the $500 mark but if that’s still a bit more coin than you wish to part with, this unibody 3D printer currently being funded on Kickstarter is certainly worth looking into.
The 3D printer in question is called the Tiko and it’s designed to address some key pain points in the industry. Many 3D printers you’ll find today are heavy, complicated and unreliable and as noted in the company’s pitch video, users often spend more time calibrating their printers than actually printing stuff.

Tiko, Originally called ‘Keka’ by the Bakweris, is a town and important port in the southwest region of Cameroon. The settlement grew as a market town for Duala (or Douala) fishermen, Bakweri (Kpwe people) farmers and hunters from Molyko, Bwenga, Bulu and Bokova. The core quarters in Tiko include Streets 1 to 7, Motombolombo, Down Beach, New Quarter, P&T quarters, New Layout, Long Street, Likomba, Golf Club, Mutengene, Ombe. As of 2010, the town is estimated to have a population of 55,914.
Tiko is a popular destination for tourists visiting Cameroon. The town is also an industrial area which is mostly occupied by the CDC (Cameroon Development Co-operation), which produces rubber, banana, and palm oil. Tiko hosts the Tiko Golf Club, which is a popular destination for golf lovers. The Likomba Golf Course is located in Likomba which has 18 holes. During the dry season, major golf tournaments are held there, as it is one of only 2 golf courses in Cameroon.
Tiko also hosts the special forces, which explains the peace and security enjoyed by the inhabitants.

I finally received my Ultimaker v2 thanks to my buddy Sander who has been a huge support to my 3D printing adventures. The bad print quality on the test print was due to the broken cooling fan from shipping/customs. The print quality will be perfect once I replace the fan arrives which Ultimaker has already shipped to me! They have fantastic support.

NOTES
The bad print quality on the test print was due to the broken cooling fan from shipping/customs. The print quality will be perfect once I replace the fan arrives which Ultimaker has already shipped to me! They have fantastic support.

To operate the Ultimaker 2 you don't need any specific technical knowledge. Every part has been redesigned to create one of the highest performing 3D printer available on the market, but also a very reliable one.

Easy to use and reliable
To operate the Ultimaker 2 you don't need any specific technological knowledge. With its 49 decibel it's a quiet machine. Because the electronics are bundled the Ultimaker 2 is stable and reliable. With its nice design the Ultimaker 2 is suitable in any working or living interior.
Designed for non-expert and expert
We've made the Ultimaker 2 to be as easy as possible. You don't need to have a huge technological background to understand our printer. At the same time we've developed the printer in a way that it's still interesting for experts to work and create with.
Larger build ratio
We've managed to get an even better print-to-size ratio. This means the printer size has remained the same, and the print envelope became bigger.
Low cost material
Beside the fact that the Ultimaker doesn't use a lot of power, the material you use to print is also low cost. This makes the use of an Ultimaker very affordable.
