HI - ROAD DRIVE IN THEATER, Kenton Ohio
Nowadays, in many areas, a drive in theater without a second or third screen is hard to find. some would even cease to exist without the additional patronage that multi screens pull in. It was a great pleasure that we were able to visit the magnificent single screen drive in theater in Kenton, Ohio. The neon lit marquee is certainly unique, at least in our travels. Have any of you viewers ever seen a marquee like this gracing the ticket booth entrance? Where? At multi screen venues, the different audiences mingle at the snack bar, with some enjoying a comedy and others perhaps a horror movie. The nice thing about a single screen site is that it is more of a shared experience. Everone you see in the snack bar just sank on the Titanic, or, visited the planet of the apes. You just don't get that at the multi-screens. Economic realities will make these single screen classic drive in theaters to become more and more rare, but, here you can click a button and relax with the OUTDOOR MOOVIES crew at yet another drive in adventure.
