Yamagata (ski jump hill)
Yamagata (山形市蔵王ジャンプ台, Yamagata-shi Zaō Jampu-dai) is FIS certified ski jump hill Zaō, Yamagata, Japan. It is located in a location that is sandwiched Kami-no-dai slopes and Ryūzan slopes.
History
It was built to fit the Inter skiing Zaō tournament of 1979. Tournament of FIS certified than 1989 to 2011 (International Zao jump competitions NHK Trophy and international Zao jump tournament Yamagata Mayor's Cup) has been held. In March 2012 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Ladies is held for the first time in Japan, has been organized each year two races later.

Akira (manga)
Akira (often stylized as AKIRA) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhiro Otomo. Set in a post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo, the work uses conventions of the cyberpunk genre to detail a saga of turmoil. Initially serialized in the pages of Young Magazine from 1982 until 1990, the work was collected into six volumes by its publisher Kodansha. The work was first published in an English-language version by the Marvel Comics imprint Epic Comics, one of the first manga works to be translated in its entirety. Otomo's art is considered outstanding, and a breakthrough for both Otomo and the manga form. Throughout the breadth of the work, Otomo explores themes of social isolation, corruption, and power.
An animated film adaptation (anime) was released in 1988 which shortened the plot considerably, but retained much of the main character and plot structures from the manga as well as many original scenes and settings. The manga takes place in a longer time frame than the film, and involves a much wider array of characters and subplots. Otomo's Akira anime marked his transition from a career primarily in manga, to one almost exclusively in anime.

Winter getaway to Yamagata| Exploring Ginzan Onsen, Zao monsters, Yamadera | JAPAN TRAVEL VLOG
Hi everyone! I went on a small winter trip to Yamagata prefecture the other week. I've never seen so much snow in my life! I think this has been one of my favourite trips so far, Ginzan Onsen had been on my to-do list for a while, and it was absolutely magical to see it in person! For anyone (that is a foreigner) in Japan and planning a trip to the Tohoku area I recommend getting the JR east pass to travel. That's what I did for this trip, it's a 5-day pass with unlimited rides on the JR train, and for ¥20,000 I definitely think it was worth it :). Hey guys, please enjoy my Japan Vlog! This time I'm taking you to Japan's most underrated travel destination!
I know that considering what's happening due to corona that people's travel plans have been canceled and changed. My parents and many of my friends have had to cancel their trips to Japan due to the virus and I'm sure a lot of you guys are in the same boat.
Hopefully you guys can eventually make it here once the situation world wide gets better. Even though I'm sure those of you who've had to cancel your plans are disappointed, I think this will give you an opportunity to research more or what to do and where to go.
I've been travelling all around and Yamagata prefecture has become one of my favourite places in Japan. It is one of the least traveled to parts of Japan and I feel like it's such a shame that more people don't come here. When rescheduling your trip to Japan please don't overlook this incredible place; there's so much to eat and countless unique things to do.
In this (not so short) trailer I've highlighted what I did on a 3 day trip there.
Some of my favourite parts of my trip include:
Kamo Aquarium - the world's largest collection of jellyfish
Blowfish Sashimi - Private Dining Experience at Kamo Aquarium: I got to sit across from one of Japan's best chef and watch him prepare this stunning dish from start to finish
Ginzan Onsen - one of the most picturesque towns I've ever laid my eyes on
Yamagata A5 Wagyu Beef BBQ - $10 USD! I couldn't believe how bloody cheap it was and how good it tasted!
I hope this video inspires at least one of you to venture off the beaten path and to explore this gem of an area! I promise you it'll blow you away and be well worth your time.

Hey guys, please enjoy my Japan Vlog! This time I'm taking you to Japan's most underrated travel destination!
I know that considering what's happening due to corona that people's travel plans have been canceled and changed. My parents and many of my friends have had to cancel their trips to Japan due to the virus and I'm sure a lot of you guys are in the same boat.
Hopefully you guys can eventually make it here once the situation world wide gets better. Even though I'm sure those of you who've had to cancel your plans are disappointed, I think this will give you an opportunity to research more or what to do and where to go.
I've been travelling all around and Yamagata prefecture has become one of my favourite places in Japan. It is one of the least traveled to parts of Japan and I feel like it's such a shame that more people don't come here. When rescheduling your trip to Japan please don't overlook this incredible place; there's so much to eat and countless unique things to do.
In this (not so short) trailer I've highlighted what I did on a 3 day trip there.
Some of my favourite parts of my trip include:
Kamo Aquarium - the world's largest collection of jellyfish
Blowfish Sashimi - Private Dining Experience at Kamo Aquarium: I got to sit across from one of Japan's best chef and watch him prepare this stunning dish from start to finish
Ginzan Onsen - one of the most picturesque towns I've ever laid my eyes on
Yamagata A5 Wagyu Beef BBQ - $10 USD! I couldn't believe how bloody cheap it was and how good it tasted!
I hope this video inspires at least one of you to venture off the beaten path and to explore this gem of an area! I promise you it'll blow you away and be well worth your time.

Hi everyone!
I went on a small winter trip to Yamagata prefecture the other week. I've never seen so much snow in my life! I think this has been one of my favourite trips so far, Ginzan Onsen had been on my to-do list for a while, and it was absolutely magical to see it in person!
For anyone (that is a foreigner) in Japan and planning a trip to the Tohoku area I recommend getting the JR east pass to travel. That's what I did for this trip, it's a 5-day pass with unlimited rides on the JR train, and for ¥20,000 I definitely think it was worth it :).

What's in Yamagata? Here's what there is to do there, around Sendai and this area of Tohoku in Japan, as well as where to stay and train passes that could save you money.
Yamagata prefecture's only a couple of hours away from Tokyo on the bullet train, so it'd be easy to spend a few days in Tokyo, then move north to Tohoku for a few days and see a different side of Japan, in the countryside and the mountains. Here's my wishlist of things I'd like to do there, including Yamadera, a temple in the mountains with a beautiful view, Ginzan Onsen, Mount Zao and its snow monsters, a wasabi farm, a sightseeing river cruise and local specialties: Yonezawa beef, cherries and soba noodles.
