David Sheldon is a well respected sessions and touring guitarist in the Canadian music scene. He is also a consultant at Doyle Audio Engineering, designing guitar monitoring systems. In this video David reviews the virtues (we didn't find any draw backs) of the Line 6 Variax Guitar. What's not said by David is he didn't want to give it back. This guitar feels and handles extremely well. Thanks Dave.

David (Hebrew: דָּוִד, דָּוִיד, Modern David Tiberian Dāwîḏ; ISO 259-3 Dawid; Strong's Daveed; beloved; Arabic: داوود or داود Dāwūd) was, according to the Hebrew Bible, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel and, according to the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke, an ancestor of Jesus. David is seen as a major Prophet in Islamic traditions. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040–970 BC, his reign over Judah c. 1010–1003 BC,[citation needed] and his reign over the United Kingdom of Israel c. 1003–970 BC.[citation needed] The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan stele records "House of David", which some take as confirmation of the existence in the mid-9th century BC of a Judean royal dynasty called the "House of David".
David is very important to Jewish, Christian and Islamic doctrine and culture. In Judaism, David, or David HaMelekh, is the King of Israel, and the Jewish people. Jewish tradition maintains that a direct descendant of David will be the Messiah. In Islam, he is known as Dawud, considered to be a prophet and the king of a nation. He is depicted as a righteous king, though not without faults, as well as an acclaimed warrior, musician, and poet, traditionally credited for composing many of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms.

David Sheldon (July 20, 1953 – November 25, 2007) was a professional wrestler, known by his ring name the Angel of Death, who wrestled in North American regional promotions during the 1980s and early 1990s including Stampede Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, the Universal Wrestling Federation as the bodyguard of The Freebirds and the National Wrestling Alliance, most notably as the first man who portrayed the masked wrestler Black Scorpion in Jim Crockett Promotions during the early 1990s.
In early 1987, Sheldon began wrestling with "Strangler" Steve DiSalvo as the Angel of Death in the Calgary based Stampede Wrestling and faced mainstays such as Johnny Smith and feuded with Owen Hart eventually losing to him and Bruce Hart in a tag team match with Robbie Stewart in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan on April 28, and to he and Ben Bassarab in Calgary, Alberta on June 20, 1986.
Moving on to Bill Watts' Universal Wrestling Federation as the Angel of Death, he appeared at several Superdome Extravaganza supercards in late 1986 feuding with Ken Massey although he later lost to The Freebirds in a 6-man tag team match with Bill Irwin and The Viking on April 11.

David Michael Letterman (born April 12, 1947) is an American television host and comedian. He hosts the late night television talk show, Late Show with David Letterman, broadcast on CBS. Letterman has been a fixture on late night television since the 1982 debut of Late Night with David Letterman on NBC. Letterman recently surpassed friend and mentor Johnny Carson for having the longest late-night hosting career in the United States of America.
Letterman is also a television and film producer. His company Worldwide Pants produces his show as well as its network follow-up The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Worldwide Pants has also produced several prime-time comedies, the most successful of which was Everybody Loves Raymond, currently in syndication.
In 1996, David Letterman was ranked #45 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time.
Letterman was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. His father, Harry Joseph Letterman (April 1915 – February 1973), was a florist of British descent; his mother Dorothy Letterman (née Hofert, now Dorothy Mengering), a Presbyterian church secretary of German descent, is an occasional figure on the show, usually at holidays and birthdays.

Plot: David Sheldon owns a plantation in the Solomon Islands. Many of his field hands die of blackwater fever, and then he becomes sick himself. Joan Lackland, a female soldier of fortune, arrives by schooner in the islands. With the help of her Kanaka crew, she protects David from an attack by the natives who are led by Googomy. Joan nurses David back to health and becomes his business partner, protecting his mortgaged property from two avaricious moneylenders. Seeking vengeance, the moneylenders incite the natives to revolt.

http://www.vladtv.com - On this week's episode of "The Vlad Couch," insightful rapper David Banner sat with us to chop it up about social injustices in America and what's he doing to make a change that will impact the Black community.
"One of the reasons why I stopped doing hip-hop - up until just recently - was because I had an opportunity to travel internationally. And I got to see the way that America was depicting Black men here...we looked really bad, and I was a real big part of that." The activist took a hiatus from rap to pursue an acting career, but unfortunately, as director Craig Brewer put it, if you're a dark-skinned Black man over six feet tall you'll only be cast as a thug or other negative characters. "I sat in LA for a year and barely got two auditions because I said I didn't wanna play that role again," Banner recalls, telling directors "I don't want to be your n******."
David Banner also chatted with us about police brutality. He and Vlad both agreed that the rate police officers are killing Black men and children hasn't changed for decades, but social media is bringing light to it more than it ever has before. "The original job for a policeman was to catch escaped slaves and protect the property of slave-owners. And it has not changed," he detested. "The only way you're gonna stop police brutality is if those police's lives are threatened, or if something is gonna happen to their children. Or if something is gonna happen to their jobs, their money [or] their lives."

The screen gets all fuzzy now as the viewer is invited to imagine this. Uhm. Coming out of an avant-garde tradition, I get to this grad school and the grad school, turns out all the teachers are realists. They're not at all interested in post-, post-modern avant-garde stuff. Now there's an interesting delusion going on here. They, so they don't like my stuff. I believe that it's not because my stuff isn't good, but because they just don't happen to like this kind of aesthetic. In fact, known to them but unknown to me, the stuff was bad. It was indeed bad. So in the middle of all this, hating the teachers but hating them for exactly the wrong reason, uh -- this was spring of 1986, I remember, I remember who I went to see the movie with -- "Blue Velvet" comes out. Uhm. "Blue Velvet" comes out. "Blue Velvet" is, uhm a type of surrealism. It may have some it may have debts: there's a debt to Hitchcock somewhere; but it is an entirely new and original kind of surrealism. It no more comes out of a previous tradition or the post-modern tech- -- it is completely David Lynch. And I don't know how well you or your viewers would remember the film, but there are some very odd : there's a moment where a guy named the Yellow Man is shot in an apartment and then Jeffrey, uh the main character runs into the apartment. The guy's dead but he's still standing there. There's no explanation, you know, he's just standing there. And it is, it's almost classically French, Francophilistically surreal. Uhm and yet it seems absolutely true and absolutely appropriate.
"And there was this -- I know I'm taking a long time to answer your question -- there was this way in which I all of a sudden realized that the point of being post-modern or being avant-garde or whatever wasn't to follow in a certain kind of tradition: that all that stuff is BS imposed by critics and camp followers afterwards; that what the really great artists do, and it sounds very trite to say it out loud, but what the really great artists do is they're entirely themselves. They're entirely themselves. They've got their own vision, their own way of fracturing reality. And that if it's authentic and true, you will feel it in your nerve endings. And this is what "Blue Velvet" did for me. I'm not suggesting it would do it for any other viewer, but I all of a sudd-- Lynch very much helped snap me out of a kind of adolescent delusion that I was in about what sort of avant-garde art could be. And it's very odd because film and books are very different media. But I remember, I remember going with two poets and one other student fiction writer to go see this and then all of us going to the coffee shop afterwards and just, you know, slapping ourselves in the forehead. And it was this truly epiphanic experience."

And I don't know how well you or your viewers would remember the film, but there are some very odd : there's a moment where a guy named the Yellow Man is shot in an apartment and then Jeffrey, uh the main character runs into the apartment. The guy's dead but he's still standing there. There's no explanation, you know, he's just standing there. And it is, it's almost classically French, Francophilistically surreal. Uhm and yet it seems absolutely true and absolutely appropriate.
"And there was this -- I know I'm taking a long time to answer your question -- there was this way in which I all of a sudden realized that the point of being post-modern or being avant-garde or whatever wasn't to follow in a certain kind of tradition: that all that stuff is BS imposed by critics and camp followers afterwards; that what the really great artists do, and it sounds very trite to say it out loud, but what the really great artists do is they're entirely themselves. They're entirely themselves. They've got their own vision, their own way of fracturing reality. And that if it's authentic and true, you will feel it in your nerve endings. And this is what "Blue Velvet" did for me. I'm not suggesting it would do it for any other viewer, but I all of a sudd-- Lynch very much helped snap me out of a kind of adolescent delusion that I was in about what sort of avant-garde art could be. And it's very odd because film and books are very different media. But I remember, I remember going with two poets and one other student fiction writer to go see this and then all of us going to the coffee shop afterwards and just, you know, slapping ourselves in the forehead. And it was this truly epiphanic experience."

In 2015 Neil McCormick, chief rock music critic of "The Daily Telegraph", ranked it as number one in his "100 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. In 1968 Bowie wrote the lyrics "Even a Fool Learns to Love", set to the music of a 1967 French song "Comme d'habitude", composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Bowie's version was never released, but Paul Anka bought the rights to the original French version, and rewrote it into "My Way", the song made famous by Frank Sinatra in a 1969 recording on his album of the same name. The success of the Anka version prompted Bowie to write "Life on Mars" as a parody of Sinatra's recording. In notes for a Bowie compilation CD that accompanied a June 2008 issue of "The Mail on Sunday". Bowie described how he wrote the song: "Workspace was a big empty room with a chaise longue; a bargain-price art nouveau screen ('William Morris,' so I told anyone who asked); a huge overflowing freestanding ashtray and a grand piano. Little else. I started working it out on the piano and had the whole lyric and melody finished by late afternoon." Bowie noted that Wakeman "embellished the piano part" of his original melody and guitarist Mick Ronson "created one of his first and best string parts" for the song. The liner notes for Hunky Dory indicate that the song was 'inspired by Frankie'. One reviewer suggested the song was written after "a brief and painful affair" with actress Hermione Farthingale.
