Surya
Surya (/ˈsʊərjə/; Sanskrit: सूर्य sūrya, also known as Aditya, Bhanu or Ravi Vivasvana in Sanskrit, and in Avestan Vivanhant, is the chief solar deity in Hinduism and generally refers to the Sun in Nepal and India.
Surya is the chief of the Navagraha, the nine Classical planets and important elements of Hindu astrology. He is often depicted riding a chariot harnessed by seven horses which might represent the seven colors of the rainbow or the seven chakras in the body. He is also the presiding deity of Sunday. Surya is regarded as the Supreme Deity by Saura sect and Smartas worship him as one of the five primary forms of God. The Sun god, Zun, worshipped by the Afghan Zunbil dynasty, is thought to be synonymous with Surya.
Depictions
Arka form
"Arka" form is worshiped mostly in North India and Eastern parts of India. The temples dedicated to the "Arka" form of Surya are Konark Temple in Orissa, Uttararka and Lolarka in Uttar Pradesh, and Balarka in Rajasthan. There was an old sun temple in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh named Balarka Surya Mandir, built by King Tilokchand Arkawanshi in early 10th century AD which was destroyed in the 14th century during the Turkish invasions. The Surya temple in Konark was built by Ganga Vamsi king Narasimha Dev. Sun Temple, Modhera in Gujarat was built in 1026 AD by King Bhimdev of Solanki dynasty.

Alphonsus (crater)
Alphonsus is an ancient impact crater on the Moon that dates from the pre-Nectarian era. It is located on the lunar highlands on the eastern end of Mare Nubium, west of the Imbrian Highlands, and slightly overlaps the crater Ptolemaeus to the north. To the northwest is the smaller Alpetragius.
Description
The surface of Alphonsus is broken and irregular along its boundary with Ptolemaeus. The outer walls are slightly distorted and possess a somewhat hexagonal form.
A low ridge system of deposited ejecta bisects the crater floor, and includes the steep central peak designated Alphonsus Alpha (α). This pyramid-shaped formation rises to a height of 1.5 km above the interior surface. It is not volcanic in origin, but rather is made of anorthosite like the lunar highlands.
The floor is fractured by an elaborate system of rilles and contains three smaller craters surrounded by a symmetric darker halo. These dark-halo craters are cinder cone-shaped and are believed by some to be volcanic in origin, although others think they were caused by impacts that excavated darker mare material from underneath the lighter lunar regolith.

Padheyam
Padheyam is a 1993 Malayalam film written by A. K. Lohithadas, directed by Bharathan, produced by Bharath Gopi and starring Mammootty in the lead role. Mammootty played the role of Chandradas, a poet and debutant Chippy, that of his estranged daughter.
Synopsis
Chandradas, a famous and best-selling poet and author arrives in Kodaikanal to attend a school felicitation ceremony. There he meets Harita, a brilliant student who conceives and performs the lead in a group dance skit based on one of his poems.
Chandradas is intrigued by the originality and brilliance of the performance and tries to find more about Harita. After a meeting with her, he realizes she is his own daughter, estranged for the past 15 years. He tries to contact her again but is hindered in his efforts by the strict rules of her school. He arranges a meeting with her through one of her favorite teachers and reveals the truth to her.
Harita is initially shattered by the news of hearing that the person who she thought of as her father is not actually her real father. However, she gradually comes to terms with her new identity and goes away and spends some time with Chandradas. Haritha's grandfather, Govinda Menon, arrives to pick her up after her exams and is taken aback when the school principal tells him she is missing. They inform her parents and they come and pick her up once she returns after her trip.

Virtual Pathfinder video "Alphonsus Lunar Crater - Stacking Video Frames in Lynkeos", produced 10 January 2022. Music by The Infinite Wave. This video is a test to stack selected frames from a short video clip of the region near Alphonsus Lunar Crater. The neighboring crater Albategnius and Klein is used to determine the detail resolution of the final image. The open source software Lynkeos for Mac OS is used for stacking the frames. Sometimes "Less is more" - when stacking hundreds of frames, like I've done in this video, all distinct features are softened and look rounded. The noise is reduced and much detail become clear, at the same time as the edges of the craters are not as distinct as I would like them to be. This video has an instructional introduction for sketching lunar craters, followed by a timelapse of the sketching taking place. It was an observation booked by somebody else, but all of the images in the National School's Observatory taken with this telescope are available to use for education purposes. The photo I worked from here was taken with the Liverpool Telescope, which is a 2 metre robotic telescope in La Palma. It was an observation booked by somebody else, but all of the images in the National School's Observatory taken with this telescope are available to use for education purposes. The observation code for this observation was "15747B000" I downloaded and processed the image first, then used the process image as a reference for my sketch. I have sketched this region up close before but only around a First Quarter Moon. This image was taken near to Last Quarter so the crater shadows are coming from the opposite direction.
I used black paper and black and white pastel pencils. I blended using cotton wool balls and cotton buds.

Virtual Pathfinder video "Alphonsus Lunar Crater - Stacking Video Frames in Lynkeos", produced 10 January 2022. Music by The Infinite Wave. This video is a test to stack selected frames from a short video clip of the region near Alphonsus Lunar Crater. The neighboring crater Albategnius and Klein is used to determine the detail resolution of the final image. The open source software Lynkeos for Mac OS is used for stacking the frames.
Sometimes "Less is more" - when stacking hundreds of frames, like I've done in this video, all distinct features are softened and look rounded. The noise is reduced and much detail become clear, at the same time as the edges of the craters are not as distinct as I would like them to be. In another video I may try to automatically or manually stack a smaller number of frames 5-20, to see if that makes it possible to reduce noise without averaging out the sharp edges. Since the atmospheric turbulence is distorting the shapes, I think the selection of frames are more important than having a large number of frames.

The photo I worked from here was taken with the Liverpool Telescope, which is a 2 metre robotic telescope in La Palma. It was an observation booked by somebody else, but all of the images in the National School's Observatory taken with this telescope are available to use for education purposes. The observation code for this observation was "15747B000" I downloaded and processed the image first, then used the process image as a reference for my sketch. I have sketched this region up close before but only around a First Quarter Moon. This image was taken near to Last Quarter so the crater shadows are coming from the opposite direction.
I used black paper and black and white pastel pencils. I blended using cotton wool balls and cotton buds.
