Travel video about destination Tunisian Oasis in Tunisia.
Gabes is the beginning of a journey through what is the fascinating oasis of Tunisia, that contains all the mystique of the Orient: art, culture, history and endless desert horizons.
The Ghorfas of Medenine boast a variety of souvenir shops and in the past, the multi-floored mud buildings served as dwellings and storage areas for the semi-nomads of the region. A Ghorfa is a collection of buildings that form part of large complexes with hundreds of buildings grouped together around large courtyards.
Surrounded by desert is the sleepy village of Douz that was once a thriving camel trading centre. Now it contains markets and is also the location of the famous Sahara Festival.
The Torra Ruins in Mansurah are a further highlight of the journey across the Tunisian oasis. The sun beats down relentlessly on the boundless Sahara and individual palm trees appear as green guardians of the oasis.
Tozeur, the 'Eden of The Desert', is a safe haven for almost 20 villages. Its unique architecture is highly impressive and the walls of its houses consist of loam bricks that form geometrical patterns.
Nefta's new town with its nearby souk quarter is situated in the east. On the western side is the older district with its sacred buildings and twisting alleys. For more than 1,000 years the town has been the religious centre of a mystic Moslem sect known as the Sufis.
As the shadows of evening begin to fall and the light of the setting sun illuminates the Tunisian oasis in a spectacular purple light, everything combines to make this a most memorable and atmospheric experience.
Fiordland Southland New Zealand
Fiordland is a geographic region of New Zealand in the south-western corner of the South Island, comprising the western-most third of Southland. Most of Fiordland is dominated by the steep sides of the snow-capped Southern Alps, deep lakes and its ocean-flooded, steep western valleys. Indeed, the name "Fiordland" comes from a variant spelling of the Scandinavian word for this type of steep valley, "fjord".
Fiordland features a number of fiords (often named sounds), of which Milford Sound is the most famous, though Doubtful Sound is larger and has more, and longer, branches (but is less accessible). Within Fiordland are Browne Falls and Sutherland Falls, which rank among the tallest waterfalls in the world, and New Zealand's three deepest lakes, Lake Hauroko, Lake Manapouri, and Lake Te Anau. Several other large lakes lie nearby, and Fiordland and the surrounding parts of Southland and Otago Regions are often referred to as The Southern Lakes.

The area was administered as Fiord County from 1876 until it was absorbed into neighbouring Wallace County in 1981. Since 1989 it has formed part of Southland District, in turn part of the Southland Region

The Garden District is one of the best preserved collection of historic southern mansions in the United States. The area was originally developed between 1832 and 1900 by wealthy New Orleans citizens. A few notable residents include Sandra Bullock, Nicolas Cage and horror novelist Anne Rice. Rice's residence, located at 1239 First Street served as the inspiration for the home of the Mayfair witches as described in the novel The Wiching Hour.

Throughout July 2016, we worked with several organizations to help non-profit organization Turn 2 for Youth. We raised over 1,700 baseball and softball items at the the Mokena Community Park District! Thanks to all who have donated for this wonderful cause. Thanks also to Hoosier Sports of America, LLC and the Chicago White Sox for coming out on our last day to further help! We also like to thank Sports Planning Guide, Alcorn State University Sports, Game Day USA, Lincoln-Way Prospects Travel Baseball, Windy City Thunderbolts, Saint Xavier University and everyone else who made a difference for a lot of kids!

Southland District is a territorial authority in the South Island of New Zealand.
History
Southland District was formed through the 1989 local government reforms. Four local authorities were amalgamated at that time: Wallace County, Winton Borough, Stewart Island and Southland County. John Casey, who was first elected onto Southland County Council in 1977, oversaw the amalgamation and was elected Southland District's first mayor in 1989.
Geography
Southland District covers the majority of the land area of Southland Region, although the region also covers Gore District, Invercargill City and adjacent territorial waters. It has a land area of 30,400.94 km2, excluding inland waters such as Lake Te Anau, Lake Manapouri, and Lake Hauroko.
Southland District contains the towns of Winton, Riverton, Lumsden and Te Anau, and the islands south of Foveaux Strait:
The seat of the District Council is Invercargill, which, however, is not part of Southland District, but a territorial authority in its own right.

Gabes is the beginning of a journey through what is the fascinating oasis of Tunisia, that contains all the mystique of the Orient: art, culture, history and endless desert horizons.
The Ghorfas of Medenine boast a variety of souvenir shops and in the past, the multi-floored mud buildings served as dwellings and storage areas for the semi-nomads of the region. A Ghorfa is a collection of buildings that form part of large complexes with hundreds of buildings grouped together around large courtyards.
Surrounded by desert is the sleepy village of Douz that was once a thriving camel trading centre. Now it contains markets and is also the location of the famous Sahara Festival.
The Torra Ruins in Mansurah are a further highlight of the journey across the Tunisian oasis. The sun beats down relentlessly on the boundless Sahara and individual palm trees appear as green guardians of the oasis.
Tozeur, the 'Eden of The Desert', is a safe haven for almost 20 villages. Its unique architecture is highly impressive and the walls of its houses consist of loam bricks that form geometrical patterns.
Nefta's new town with its nearby souk quarter is situated in the east. On the western side is the older district with its sacred buildings and twisting alleys. For more than 1,000 years the town has been the religious centre of a mystic Moslem sect known as the Sufis.
As the shadows of evening begin to fall and the light of the setting sun illuminates the Tunisian oasis in a spectacular purple light, everything combines to make this a most memorable and atmospheric experience.

We raised over 1,700 baseball and softball items at the the Mokena Community Park District! Thanks to all who have donated for this wonderful cause. Thanks also to Hoosier Sports of America, LLC and the Chicago White Sox for coming out on our last day to further help! We also like to thank Sports Planning Guide, Alcorn State University Sports, Game Day USA, Lincoln-Way Prospects Travel Baseball, Windy City Thunderbolts, Saint Xavier University and everyone else who made a difference for a lot of kids!

When I informed this whack job "driver trainer" that he had incorrect information re: my service dog's presence, ( in front of other students )he expressed resentment and began to berate me....stating, " Are YOU a professional driver trainer ?
