Don Cannon

Donald Earl "Don" Cannon (born August 2, 1979), is an American Grammy Award–nominated hip-hop, R&B platinum-level, record producer and DJ. Cannon is a DJ who can be heard spinning to elite entertainment industry crowds from Atlanta to Tokyo.

Cannon received "Atlanta’s Best DJ" from the prominent TV program Good Day Atlanta on the channel Fox 5. Shortly after, Cannon founded a full-service production and promotion company, Cannon Music, LLC, to house his growing brand (DC) as a DJ and producer. In 2009, produced the theme for "Meet The Paynes", Tyler Perry's sitcom series. He also produced Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers season theme songs and placed Young Jeezy’s “Circulate” for the national Belvedere Vodka campaign.

Music career

DJ Don Cannon, based in the Atlanta and Los Angeles areas, has produced a number of songs for prominent hip-hop artists such as The Neighbourhood, Lecrae, Young Jeezy, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Asher Roth, Outkast, Big Sean, The Cool Kids, Fabolous, Floyd Mayweather, Kendrick Lamar, Mikkey Halsted, Curren$y, T.I., Akon, Drake, Lil Wayne, J. Cole, The Game, Meek Mill, Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Trey Songz, Chris Rock, G-Unit, Macy Gray, 2 Chainz, Future, Roscoe Dash, Reese, Lil Uzi Vert and most recently Hodgy Beats. He has also worked alongside fellow Philadelphian DJ Drama on the popular mixtape series Gangsta Grillz and the syndicated radio show Gangsta Grillz Radio and also produced over 5 songs on Drama's 2007 album debut, Gangsta Grillz: The Album.

DJ Drama

Tyree Cinque Simmons (born April 22, 1978), professionally known as DJ Drama, is an American disc jockey (DJ) and record executive from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He initially gained recognition as the official DJ for Atlanta-based rapper T.I.. He is perhaps best known for hosting several mixtapes, most notably his successful Gangsta Grillz series. He is also known for doing the Dedication series with New Orleans-bred rapper Lil Wayne, with the New York Times calling Dedication 2, one of the "10 best recordings of 2006".

DJ Drama along with Khomotso Tibane and DJ Sense, founded Aphilliates Music Group, in 2003. The Aphilliates Music Group signed a joint venture deal with Asylum Records in 2006. As of January 2011, The Aphilliates now operates as its own entity, due to DJ Drama recently cutting ties with La the Darkman and Embassy Entertainment. In December 2007, Drama released his first studio album, Gangsta Grillz: The Album, under Atlantic Records, as well as T.I.'s label, Grand Hustle Records. His second album was the sequel Gangsta Grillz: The Album (Vol. 2), which was released in May 2009, under Atlantic and Grand Hustle. After leaving Grand Hustle and Atlantic to focus on Aphilliates Music Group, Drama released his third album Third Power, under E1 Music and Aphilliates.

Cannon

A cannon (plural: cannon or cannons) is any piece of artillery that uses gunpowder or other usually explosive-based propellants to launch a projectile. Cannon vary in calibre, range, mobility, rate of fire, angle of fire, and firepower; different forms of cannon combine and balance these attributes in varying degrees, depending on their intended use on the battlefield. The word cannon is derived from several languages, in which the original definition can usually be translated as tube, cane, or reed. In the modern era, the term cannon has fallen into decline, replaced by "guns" or "artillery" if not a more specific term such as "mortar" or "howitzer", except for in the field of aerial warfare, where it is often used as shorthand for autocannon.

First invented in China, cannon were among the earliest forms of gunpowder artillery, and over time replaced siege engines—among other forms of ageing weaponry—on the battlefield. In the Middle East, the first use of the hand cannon is argued to be during the 1260 Battle of Ain Jalut between the Mamluks and Mongols. The first cannon in Europe were in use in Iberia by the mid-13th century. It was during this period, the Middle Ages, that cannon became standardized, and more effective in both the anti-infantry and siege roles. After the Middle Ages most large cannon were abandoned in favour of greater numbers of lighter, more maneuverable pieces. In addition, new technologies and tactics were developed, making most defences obsolete; this led to the construction of star forts, specifically designed to withstand artillery bombardment though these too (along with the Martello Tower) would find themselves rendered obsolete when explosive and armour piercing rounds made even these types of fortifications vulnerable.

Music video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
