Victor Davis, CM (February 10, 1964 – November 13, 1989) was a Canadian Olympic and world champion swimmer who specialized in the breaststroke. He also enjoyed success in the individual medley and the butterfly.
Victor Davis was born in Guelph, Ontario. As a boy, Davis learned how to swim in the lakes around his home. He then joined the Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club at the age of 12.
During his career, Davis held several world records as the winner of 31 national titles and 16 medals in international competition. At the 1982 world championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador, he set his first world record while winning the gold medal in the 200-metre breaststroke.
At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, he won a silver medal in the 100-meter breaststroke event, then captured the gold medal in the 200-metre breaststroke, in the process establishing another world record. In recognition of his accomplishments, Davis was named Swimming Canada's Athlete of the Year three times and the Canadian government made him a Member of the Order of Canada.

Plot: Despite having dreams of being a world record breaststroker since he was a child, Canadian Victor Davis came out of virtual obscurity to win the silver medal in the 100 meter breaststroke and shattering the long standing world record on his way to the gold medal in the 200 meter breaststroke at the 1982 World Swimming Championships. There, Victor and his coach, Cliff Barry, predict Victor will break world records en route to gold medals in these two races at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Victor's public bravado and hot temperedness, both extensions of his hyperactivity, irk his competitors, exasperate Cliff and sometimes place him at odds with the public and the media, both Canadian and international. From 1982, Victor has some spectacular swimming heartaches, some equally as spectacular swimming moments, and some potentially career-ending moments related to medical and legal issues all leading up to and at the 1984 Olympic Games. Through it all, he is supported by Cliff, his equally as famous national swim teammate Alex Baumann, his swim club teammates, his family, and his girlfriend Donna Clavel. Then, following his retirement from competitive swimming, on the fateful evening of November 11, 1989 after leaving a Montréal nightclub with Donna,...

Plot: This is the sequel to Apocolypse. In this movie Thorold Stone is still looking for his family. The Christians, whom the rest of the world has started to call The Haters, are being framed for many murders and terrorist acts. Thorold and his partner go to investigate the location of the detonator of one of these acts. They find a group of Christians holding a service. He arrests them and one of them hands him a disk from O.N.E. , One Nation Earth. He finds men in the building who aren't Christians. They chase them around and one of them is killed. Then he meets with Mr. Parker who works for Franco Malacousso. Parker shoots them both but Thorold doesn't die. He is then framed for the shooting of his partner and he goes to a computer programmer with the disk. Virtual Reality is used to bring the Day of Wonders to fruition. There is something odd about the cd that the woman gave Thorold because the programmer can't get access to it and they take it to the Christians headquarters. Further things develop and throughout the film there are repeated attempts to convert Thorold to Christianity. It isn't until he meets up with the Anti-Christ that he makes up his mind one way or the other. When they find out what the day of wonders is they try to destroy the program that will run it. Y

In light of this world transformation, Hanson looks at key challenges the United States faces around the globe: in Europe, A...
September 14, 2005 War and Empire: The Debate - Victor Davis Hanson v. Arianna Huffington Is the U.S. imperial or internationalist? A recent raft of books asserts that we are imperial. But if that is true, are we an empire of good inentions... or and empire of reckless might? Argument roils over the degree to which the projection of our military, diplomatic, commercial, and cultural powers constitutes a new kind of empire. Or in the end, are we like the others? These are among the questions we will explore.
In 2003, Victor Davis Hanson sat down with CSPAN's Brian Lamb to discuss the primary insights from his book, Mexifornia. http://www.LibertyPen.com

29/10/2007 Steven Malanga, Heather Mac Donald, and Victor Davis Hanson talk about their book 'The Immigration Solution: A Better Plan Than Today’s', published by Ivan R.Dee. In the book each author explores an aspect of the immigration debate, including the social, economic, and political results of current immigration policies. Together, the authors argue for an immigration policy similar to those of other advanced nations: one that admits skilled and educated people based on what they can do for the country, not what the country can do for them. They talk about topics including the effects of illegal immigration on life such as in Mr. Hanson’s small California town, the effects of immigration enforcement, the changing economics of immigration and the myths of immigration, including the f...

Long ago life was clean
Sex was bad and obscene
And the rich were so mean
Stately homes for the Lords
Croquet lawns, village greens
Victoria was my queen
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria, 'toria
I was born, lucky me
In a land that I love
Though I am poor, I am free
When I grow I shall fight
For this land I shall die
Let her sun never set
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria, 'toria
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria, toria
Land of hope and gloria
Land of my Victoria
Land of hope and gloria
Land of my Victoria
Victoria, 'toria
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria, 'toria
Canada to India
Australia to Cornwall
Singapore to Hong Kong
From the West to the East
From the rich to the poor
Victoria loved them all
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria, 'toria
