It’s Monday which means its time for the weekend box office report brought to you by our friends at
AMC theatres.
Disney’s bear hug at the box office saw
The Jungle Book dominating a second straight weekend with $60.8 million dollars and the No 1 spot. The movie declined only 41% from its opening weekend and left
Universal’s
The Huntsman:
Winter’s War far behind.
The debut, a prequel to
Snow White and the Huntman only took in $20 million for the
No 2 spot. Barber
Shop:
The Next Cut took in $
10.8 million for the No 3 spot, with Disney also taking the No 4 spot with
Zootopia at $6.6 million dollars.
The Boss comes in at No 5 with $6 million.
20th Century Fox has released final trailer for
X-Men: Apocalypse trailer showing a lot more of what we can expect from the May 27th release, including conformation that
Wolverine is in fact, in the movie as many reports have suggested.
According to the Wrap, Disney has removed
Marvel’s Inhumans from its release schedule that was once slated for July 12, 2019. There had been a number of rumors of such a move, with the latest coming off of statements
Kevin Feige has been making during the press rounds of
Captain America Civil War.

Ridley Scott’s
Alien Covenant begins filming soon in order to meet the release date set at
August 4th, 2017, but many fans are wondering when we can expect
District 9 director
Neill Blomkamp’s Alien “sequel” that was initially planned for release in 2017. The movie would bring back
Sigourney Weaver’s
Ripley, ignoring the other sequels in the franchise, and taking place after
James Cameron’s first sequel, Aliens.
With
Suicide Squad scheduled for theaters later this year and filming is underway on
Justice League: Part One, next comes news about the scarlet speedster aka The Flash. According to Heroic
Hollywood, a casting search has already begun for the DCEU’s movie that features
Ezra Miller.
Deadline reports that
Will Ferrell and
Mark Wahlberg are set to reprise their roles as the mismatched step-dad and dad, respectively, in a sequel to
Daddy’s Home.
Plot details on the sequel are currently under wraps with
Sean Anders and
John Morris also returning to write the script with
Anders back to direct.
As filming continues on the
Baywatch movie
adaptation starring
The Rock and
Zac Effron, it looks like they’ve finally nailed down a commitment from the most popular Baywatch alum next to
David Hasselhoff - Pamela Anderson. The actress is officially on board with
Dwayne Johnson making the announcement via his Instagram account.
