Song debuted in the entertainment industry in 1996 when she won the Grand Prize in SunKyung Smart (a school uniform company) when she was finishing her third year in junior high school. It was not long until she starred in her first drama, Merry Morning. Since then, she would continue to star in a string of various dramas and sitcoms but it wasn't until the KBS drama Autumn in My Heart in 2000 with Song Seung-hun and Won Bin that she rose to fame throughout Asia.
In 2003, her popularity continued to climb when she played a leading role alongside Lee Byung-hun in the gambling drama All In. The following year, she co-starred with singer Rain in the hit romantic comedy series Full House.
After the pan-Asian success of Full House, she made her big-screen debut in My Girl and I (a Korean adaptation of Crying Out Love in the Center of the World), which was panned by audiences and critics alike. Vocal about her dissatisfaction with typecasting in the roles she was being offered, Song went on a 2-year hiatus.

Their lives are turned upside down when the game takes an interesting twist and the stakes are raised to reel life assets instead of chips. Genres: Short,You never do know which way you should go when you run
But don't take it from me, I can't make you see how far you've come
And if I shook you all up, said you were good enough
Could I be the one
Please don't expect me to offer you truth
When the next one in line might be better for you
You think I'd be sad but it just makes me madder
The harder I try there's just more left to lose
You're facing frustration and intoxication
Stop saying goodbye, another location
Won't give you the answer, it has it's own cancer
Stop saying goodbye, it isn't the answer
Well, it isn't just me
There are others who need you around
But you're nowhere tonight
'Because you know that you might let them down
The ones who adore you will all be there for you
Just give them a chance and don't put up a fight
Kill the ignition and make a decision to stay where you are
And start living your life
You're facing frustration and intoxication
Stop saying goodbye, another location
Won't give you the answer, it has it's own cancer
Stop saying goodbye, it isn't the answer
It's your life to build or burn down
Just try to learn from what you've found
It's your life to build or burn down
Just try to keep your feet on the ground
And stop saying goodbye, and stop saying goodbye
You're facing frustration and intoxication
Stop saying goodbye, another location
Won't give you the answer, it has it's own cancer
Stop saying goodbye, it isn't the answer
Stop saying goodbye, stop saying goodbye
