New Announcements: Students: Ready for Chinese New Year break?? Hold up we have one more thing-- Spirit Week is NEXT WEEK! (1/23-1/27) Get ready to show your school spirit: Monday - Mathletes VS Athletes Tuesday - Twin Day Wednesday - Alpha Team Color (extra points for facepaint/hairspray!) Thursday - Slumber Party Day (PJ's or sweats) ALL: The last day to enter the library's next "Book in a Jar" contest is FRIDAY! Be sure to get over to the library sometime on Friday before 5pm and make your guess! 3 winners will be drawn from the correct guesses and will receive coupons for the student store. This new book seems to be more difficult to guess than the last one so your correct guess has a better chance of winning this time. The library will have this contest a few more times during the year and all those with correct guesses will be entered in a super prize drawing to be held at the end of the school year so be sure and enter! This is open to all students, teachers, and parents. If you were a winner last time, you should enter again because although you can't win the coupons again, your correct answer will get you another entry in the big prize drawing at the end of the year! ALL: If a wife consents and husband objects to a search, can the police enter the home without a warrant? Come and hear the oral arguments for Georgia v Randolph in which the seniors will be deliberating on this vary issue. The trials will be during 1st, 3rd, and 5th period TOMORROR (Fri). Please remember to be quiet when the court is in session. (jm) ALL: Don't forget the business club will host our second guest speaker in our lecture series. Mr. Todd Wertz is the president of K-Swiss, Taiwan and will talk about the challenges of business and leadership. He will also field questions. The talk and QA session will be from 3:00-3:45 in the Library media room. All non business club members who attend the WHOLE event will receive NT100 coupons to The Stable. ALL: The Lady Mustangs played a nail-biter last night against Ling Dong Univ. Last year the Mustangs lost to this team by over 30 points. Tonight the Mustangs got off to a great start against the opponent's man defense with screening and good passing, getting lots of open shots. We were up by 3 at the quarter and 7 at the half. Ling Dong put a lot more pressure on us the second half and forced us to get out of rhythm. Fortunately Ling Dongs offense wasn't strong so we were still up by 4 after 3. But in the 4th, their pressure was to much, especially at the end of the game, and the Mustangs lost by 4, 49-53. All the Mustangs contributed on both sides of the court, offensively and defensively.
