Dan Hughes, Clinical Psychologist, from U.S.A., is the originator of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and also attachment-focused family therapy. He is an internationally acclaimed therapist and author of ground-breaking books on attachment and emotional recovery.
Dan has integrated recent research in the areas of neurobiology of trauma, early child development and attachment theory, to produce a therapeutic approach that assists professionals and parents/caregivers to understand and effectively support the healing of vulnerable children and young people.
During one of his many trips to Scotland as a guest of Scottish Attachment in Action he recorded this summary of how the brain reacts to trauma and how an understanding of this process is helpful to foster and adoptive parents as well professionals such as residential care workers and teachers.

Hail, Hail
"Hail, Hail" is a song by the American rock band Pearl Jam. Featuring lyrics written by vocalist Eddie Vedder and music co-written by guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament, and guitarist Mike McCready, "Hail, Hail" was released in 1996 as the second single from the band's fourth studio album, No Code (1996). The song managed to reach the number nine spot on both the Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock Billboard charts. The song was included on Pearl Jam's 2004 greatest hits album, rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991–2003).
Origin and recording
"Hail, Hail" features lyrics written by vocalist Eddie Vedder and music co-written by guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament, and guitarist Mike McCready. Gossard stated, "People say that No Code wasn't like a rock record. The big comment you'd hear over and over again was 'experimental record.' But then you hear "Habit" and "Hail, Hail" and "Lukin", and those songs are totally rock."

Attachment theory
Attachment theory is a psychological model that attempts to describe the dynamics of long-term and short-term interpersonal relationships between humans. However, "attachment theory is not formulated as a general theory of relationships. It addresses only a specific facet" (Waters et al. 2005: 81): how human beings respond within relationships when hurt, separated from loved ones, or perceiving a threat. Essentially, attachment depends on the person's ability to develop basic trust in their caregivers and self. In infants, attachment as a motivational and behavioral system directs the child to seek proximity with a familiar caregiver when they are alarmed, with the expectation that they will receive protection and emotional support. John Bowlby believed that the tendency for primate infants to develop attachments to familiar caregivers was the result of evolutionary pressures, since attachment behavior would facilitate the infant's survival in the face of dangers such as predation or exposure to the elements.

I was asked to do a gig at The Engine Inn’s biker night on 20th July 2016… I dedicated the gig to my late best mate Dan Hughes who tragically died the week before. I decided to scrap my normal set and just play with raw emotion for Dan. This was the hardest tribute gig I have ever done so far as I was wiping the tears away as I was playing.

"This one I submitted during an earlier LPS episode on HDR and I've submitted it again because I relied on another favourite NIK package, HDR Efex PRO. I relied on a bracketed 3 exposures (-1, 0 and +1) which I processed into HDR Efex Pro. Again, I started with the packaged filters and made sure to tone down the structure slider to avoid over processing and that often artificial HDR look. I also used control points especially around the large tree to tone down the HDR strength and avoid halos around the tree - halos often appear in HDR images particularly around complicated tonal contrasts where the software can't clearly determine an appropriate edge. I then ran the image via Color Efex Pro to lighten up the foreground which helped keep the image more natural in tones than HDR where the detail is fine."

Astronomers are watching the skies as a three-mile-wide asteroid named after the Greek demi-God Phaethon will pass as close as 6.4 million miles from Earth on Dec. 17 – ‘quite close,’ Russian astronomers told Yahoo News UK.
