"Miss Independent" is a 2008 single by American R&B singer Ne-Yo. It is the second single from his album Year of the Gentleman and was produced by Stargate. It samples the song "Forget About Me" by Lil Bit. The song was written by Ne-Yo and co-written by Stargate. It was released as a music download on August 26, 2008 and physical release in September 2008.

The music video of "Miss Independent" was shot with director Chris Robinson on Monday, December 8, 2008 in Santa Monica, California. It featured cameos from Keri Hilson, Gabrielle Union, Lauren London and Trey Songz. It begins with Ne-Yo as a corporate boss walking to his office through his employee's office. As he walks by, various office workers (played by various singers) say good morning to Ne-Yo, who is enjoying the sight of all the women. The video continues with Ne-Yo at a meeting getting interrupted by his boss who apologizes to him in the end and asks what she can do to make it up to him.

"Miss Independent" is a song by American pop artist Kelly Clarkson. It served as the lead single from her debut studio album, Thankful (2003). Written by Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Rhett Lawrence, and Matt Morris, with Lawrence serving as producer, it was released by RCA Records on April 10, 2003. The track was initially intended for Aguilera's fourth album, Stripped (2002), but was later given to Clarkson when the song was left unfinished at the time of Stripped’s development.

"Miss Independent" is a pop rock song with R&B influences. It tells of a story of an independent woman who finally allows herself to lower her emotional and communication barriers to fall in love. Its theme of self-sufficiency would later served as a template for Clarkson's subsequent releases. The song generally received positive response from music critics, while criticism targeted the song's similarity to Aguilera's material.

Nyah

Nyah is a town in northern Victoria, Australia. The town is located on the Murray Valley Highway, in the Rural City of Swan Hill local government area, 365 kilometres (227 mi) north west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2011 census, Nyah had a population of 483.

The town, on the banks of the Murray River was formed as the "Taverner Community Village Settlement" in the 1890s by Jim Thwaites as a utopian socialist community, one of many established along the Murray, including Waikerie in South Australia. The communities were established in imitation of the New Australia settlement of William Lane in Paraguay. Lack of access to water for fields and a falling-out of favour of socialism led to the end of state support for these communities.

The Post Office opened on 4 May 1894 (though known as Tyntynder for some months)

The town in conjunction with neighbouring township Nyah West has an Australian Rules football team competing in the Central Murray Football League.

Nyah Harness Racing Club conducts regular meetings at its racetrack in the town.
