No. 1 (film series)

No. 1 series is a Bollywood comedy film series starring Govinda in the lead role. Coolie No. 1 (1995) was the first in a series of films which had Govinda in the title role and became a major box office success. It was followed by Hero No. 1 (1997), Aunty No. 1 (1998), Anari No.1 (1999), Beti No.1 (2000) and Jodi No.1 (2001) all featuring Govinda in the lead role.

Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1 and Jodi No.1 were directed by David Dhawan with whom Govinda has done 17 films as of 2014. Kader Khan has acted with Govinda in four films of No. 1 (film series) namely Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Aunty No. 1 and Anari No.1.

Films

The series consists of six films, starting from Coolie No. 1 in 1995. The last installment in the series was Jodi No.1 released in 2001.

Plot

Coolie No. 1 (1995)

Shaadiram Gharjode (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) is once humiliated by Hoshiyar Chand (Kader Khan) when Shaadiram goes to inform him about a family wanting to marry their son to Hoshiyar's daughter. Hoshiyar Chand insults them as he wants both his daughters to marry into the richest family. Gharjode decides to teach Hoshiyar Chand a lesson: He meets a coolie called Raju (Govinda) and they go to Hoshiyar Chand's village pretending to be a rich family. Hoshiyar is impressed and he wants his daughter Malti (Karisma Kapoor) to marry Raju. This leads to humorous situations in the climax.

No. 1 (yacht)

No. 1 is the name of a sailing yacht which is power-assisted by an electric motor that gets its electricity from hydrogen fuel cells. It is the first ever yacht to be fuel cell-powered. The boat was certified under the Germanischer Lloyd guidelines for fuel cells on ships and boats. The yacht's debut was in August 2003 in Japan, and it is commissioned at Lake Constance (Kressbronn am Bodensee).

MTU Friedrichshafen, the company that designed the boat's power system, has said that it views a move towards fuel cell-based power systems as logical given the demand for clean, quiet energy sources in leisure craft such as yachts.

Princess (Jam Hsiao album)

Princess (Chinese: 王妃) is Taiwanese Mandopop artist Jam Hsiao's (Chinese: 蕭敬騰) second Mandarin studio album. It was released on 17 July 2009 by Warner Music Taiwan. The album was available for pre-order, from 23 June 2009, as the Princess (First Press Limited Edition) (王妃 全球首日封榮耀限定款) which includes gifts and photobook. A further edition, Princess (Live Limited Edition) (王妃 Live 影音限定版 2CD+DVD) was released on 28 August 2009 with bonus CD and DVD containing live tracks and footage from Hsiao's Princess Live Concert Tour at Tainan, Taiwan.

The track "Say a lil something" is composed by label mate Khalil Fong and four tracks, "小男人大男孩" (Not A Boy, Not Yet A Man), "Green Door", "給愛人" (To My Beloved) and "寂寞還是你" (Lonesome for You) are composed by Hsiao. The music video for "我不會愛" (Don't Know How to Love) features Taiwanese actress Sandrine Pinna.

Reception

The album debuted at number one on Taiwan's G-Music Top 20 Weekly Mandarin and Combo Charts at week 29, and Five Music Chart at week 30 with a percentage sales of 33.1%, 22.76% and 24.45% respectively.

Princess (singer)

Desiree Heslop, best known as Princess, is a British singer who found chart success in the mid-1980s. In the late-1970s she worked with the group Osibisa. Her first solo album Princess (1986) was composed and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman which contained the hit single, "Say I'm Your Number One". The album spawned 5 charting singles, and was certified silver in the UK.

Heslop signed with Polydor and recorded her second album, All for Love (1987) in the United States, but neither the album nor its 3 singles had much success. In 1989, she released the stand-alone single "Lover Don't Go", which failed to chart. Her third album, "Say It", which was slated for release in 1990, eventually was never issued as Princess retired from the music scene and moved to the USA after the death of her mother and the assassination of her brother.

From 1991 to 2003 she lived in the U.S., before returning to England in 2003. That same year she formed her own music label with her brother Donovan, OnDa Ground Music Label, which has released all her music since, and released her first single in 14 years, "Ride", with rap ensemble EEDB. A music video was also filmed which referenced her retirement.

Princess (US automobile)

The Princess was an automobile built in Detroit, Michigan by the Princess Motor Car Company from 1914 until 1918. The original Princess was a light two-seater costing $475. It was powered by a 1.6-liter Farmer engine.

Johannes Brahms

Johannes Brahms (German: [joˈhanəs ˈbʁaːms]; 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was a German composer and pianist. Born in Hamburg into a Lutheran family, Brahms spent much of his professional life in Vienna, Austria. In his lifetime, Brahms's popularity and influence were considerable. He is sometimes grouped with Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven as one of the "Three Bs", a comment originally made by the nineteenth-century conductor Hans von Bülow.

Brahms composed for piano, chamber ensembles, symphony orchestra, and for voice and chorus. A virtuoso pianist, he premiered many of his own works. He worked with some of the leading performers of his time, including the pianist Clara Schumann and the violinist Joseph Joachim (the three were close friends). Many of his works have become staples of the modern concert repertoire. Brahms, an uncompromising perfectionist, destroyed some of his works and left others unpublished.

Brahms is often considered both a traditionalist and an innovator. His music is firmly rooted in the structures and compositional techniques of the Baroque and Classical masters. He was a master of counterpoint, the complex and highly disciplined art for which Johann Sebastian Bach is famous, and of development, a compositional ethos pioneered by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and other composers. Brahms aimed to honour the "purity" of these venerable "German" structures and advance them into a Romantic idiom, in the process creating bold new approaches to harmony and melody. While many contemporaries found his music too academic, his contribution and craftsmanship have been admired by subsequent figures as diverse as Arnold Schoenberg and Edward Elgar. The diligent, highly constructed nature of Brahms's works was a starting point and an inspiration for a generation of composers. Within his meticulous structures is embedded, however, a highly romantic nature.

1818 Brahms

1818 Brahms, provisional designation 1939 PE, is an asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt. It was discovered by German astronomer Karl Reinmuth at Heidelberg Observatory on 15 August 1939.

The asteroid orbits the Sun at a distance of 1.8–2.6 AU once every 3.18 years (1,163 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.18 and is tilted by 3 degrees to the ecliptic. Little is known about the asteroids size, composition, albedo and rotation, despite having a well-observed orbit with the lowest possible uncertainty (i.e. a condition code of 0) and an observation arc that spans over a time period of more than a century.

It is named for the German composer Johannes Brahms (1833–1897).
