Campinense Clube

Campinense Clube, usually known simply as Campinense, is a Brazilian football club from Campina Grande, Paraíba state. The club finished as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B runner-up in 1972, and has also competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A several times.

History

The club was founded on April 12, 1915 as a dancing club by Elias Montenegro, Dino Belo, Antônio Lima and several others. The club's headquarters were located at Colégio Campinense. José Câmara was Campinense's first president.

In 1960, Campinense won its first state championship., which was the first of six consecutive championships won by the club. In 1961, the club competed in the Taça Brasil, finishing as the Northeastern Group runner-up after being defeated in the final by Bahia. In 1972, the club was defeated by Sampaio Corrêa in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B final, finishing as the championship's runner-up. In 1975, Campinense competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A for the first time, finishing in the competition's last position. The club competed again in that competition in 1978, 1979, and in 1981.

Copa do Nordeste

Copa do Nordeste (English: Cup of the North-East), also known as Campeonato do Nordeste (English: Championship of the North-East) or Copa Nordeste (English: Northeastern Cup), is a Brazilian football competition contested between Northeastern region teams.

History

The competition was first played in 1976, as Torneio José Américo de Almeida Filho. It was played again in 1994. From 1997 to 1999, the Campeonato do Nordeste champions granted qualification to Copa Conmebol.

From 2000 to 2002, the Campeonato do Nordeste champions granted qualification to the Copa dos Campeões.

The competition returned in 2010, after being defunct since 2003. Copa do Nordeste returned again in 2013. From the 2014 Copa do Nordeste winner will get a spot in the Copa Sudamericana.

Competition format

In 2010, all 16 clubs play against each other once. The four best played teams qualify to the playoff stage, which is played in one leg, starting with the semifinals.

The first and second-placed clubs play all their playoff games at home.

Campeonato Brasileiro Série D

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D is the fourth tier of the Brazilian football, and it was announced by Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin, like the top three tiers. Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs indicated by the state federations.

Esporte Interativo (English: Interactive Sport), is a Brazilian television channel inaugurated on January 20, 2007 with the live broadcast of a Premier League match between Chelsea and Liverpool.

History

The plan of Esporte Interativo channel started at 2004, when its owner, TopSports established a partneship with RedeTV! to broadcast sports events like, English Premier League, UEFA Champions League and NBA. In September 2004, after fights between TopSports and RedeTv! the partneship was broken. The Esporte Interativo took their events to Rede Bandeirantes, in three years of partnership was broadcast events like, UEFA Champions League, La Liga, English Premier League and Lega Calcio.

In January 20, 2007 the Esporte Interativo channel started to broadcast free-to-air on satellite Star One C2, on the frequency 980 MHz vertical, replacing Amazon Sat. In June 10, 2010 the Esporte Interativo channel started to broadcast in São Paulo, channel 36 UHF, and was created the Rede Esporte Interativo, to debut the network an interview with Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, was aired. In 2011 the network renewed the broadcast rights for the UEFA Champions League, and gained the broadcast rights for UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League. To celebrate the 5th birthday of the channel, was opened a new studio in São Paulo. In October 2012, Esporte Interativo closed a partnership with Yahoo! Brasil and they launched a new sports website the Yahoo! Esporte Interativo.
