Angola: Saharawi Ambassador Bids Farewell to Angolan Speaker

Luanda — The National Assembly Speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, talked Friday in Luanda, with the ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Malainine Sadik-Bachir, from whom he received farewell greetings.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the audience the Saharawi diplomat, at the end of mission said he presented his thanked to the speaker of the Angolan Parliament, for the support received from the authorities during the his tenure.

The question of Western Sahara was Tuesday a topic of discussion at a meeting "Arria Formula" of the Security Council, co-chaired by Angola and Venezuela, during which the Special Envoy of the African Union (AU) for the territory, Joaquim Chissano, defended the right of the Saharawi people to freely choose their fate."

The solution to the conflict is the holding of a referendum on self-determination of the Saharawi people", defended the former president of Mozambique at the meeting co-chaired by the Permanent Representatives of Angola and Venezuela to the UN, respectively ambassadors Ismael Gaspar Martins and Rafael Ramirez.
