When I wrote ”Barry & the boys” a dozen years ago I could not have imagined it would one day be relevant to the 9/11 attack. But it was… When a Lear-jet belonging to the owner of the flight school where Mohamed Atta had just begun flight training was seized in July 2000 carrying 43 lbs of heroin, a Central Florida record, reported the Orlando Sentinel, the story would have had huge implications for unanswered question about why it was, exactly, that Mohamed Atta’s terrorist cadre made Venice, FL, a tiny retirement community with the second oldest population in the entire United States, their home base.
Would have had… EXCEPT… it was suppressed.
And in the now-famous photograph on the cover of “Barry & the boys,” the embarrassing fact that one of the men with drug smuggler and CIA pilot Barry Seal in a Mexico City night club on January 23, 1963 is Porter Goss, who headed George Bush’s CIA between 2004-2007. would also have been big news.
Would have been…EXCEPT it too, was suppressed.
Even though more than a hundred books (by Google’s count) cite “Barry & the boys’ as a reference, and readers (especially former Iran Contra operatives) and reviewers think highly of the book, it hasn’t been enough to excite the interest of any mainstream American publisher. So when my next book arrives (expanding on the two-hour “The New American Drug Lords” documentary) it will again be through the efforts of friends like courageous publisher Kris Millegan of Trine Books in Eugene, Oregon, about as far from the center of American publishing as you can get.

While “Barry & the boys” is currently selling for upwards of $250. on Amazon, none of it goes to me. Nonetheless I have managed to reprint “Barry & ‘the boys” to sell on my website.
To continue to investigate, write books, and produce documentaries, I need to take in significantly more than I have have in the past few years. The “Great Recession” has been hard on almost everyone. And if you’ve been deliberately “marginalized,” as I have, every month is a challenge.
So my books, “Barry & the boys” & “Welcome to TerrorLand,” and my six documentaries are available through donations only.
THE BIG BONUS PACKAGE: Signed copies of “Barry & the boys,” “Welcome to TerrorLand,” and ALL 6 DVDs (“The New American Drug Lords” and my five other documentaries) for a $200 donation.
THE BONUS PACKAGE: “Barry & the boys,” and “Welcome to TerrorLand” for a $100 donation.
OR ALL 6 DVDs: “The New American Drug Lords” AND ALL FIVE of my other documentaries for a $100 donation.
If you’d like to make a recurring donation, or a one-time donation of any amount, you can do that too, to my email address, madcownews@gmail.com

I have Terrorland and would just like to get Barry And The Boys. Any deals on just that book?
Mr. Hopsicker, you should really do a kickstarter to raise money for your next project and use your previous projects as rewards for people who pledge. That has to be much more effective than charging $100 for one book and hoping that someone stumbles upon it by accident…like me. I’d love a copy but will have tO hold back due to the pricing. Look into kickstarter though. It seems like the perfect place for the projects that you are putting together. Jimmy
thank you for the suggestion.
Daniel….I was wondering if it would be possible to get the missing chapter 35 from barry and the boys….even if it’s a photocopy….i have no problem donating the 200 dollars…please lmk..scott…or if you actually have a copy of the book with that chapter in it I could send a bigger donation…
Daniel,
I bought your books and DVD's in 2011 thanks for the great read. I noticed on Amazon the Barry and the Boys book is selling for I think $135.00 with chapter 35 missing. I was looking thorough chaper 35 in my copy and being from Baton Rouge I recognize some of the redacted "players" and realize I was there when all of that went down. Wendell, Barrys brother was a High School friend .
Thanks
