The woman was also arrested on suspicion of theft after a pug was recovered during the searches. They were all taken to Harlow Police Station for questioning before being released on police bail pending further enquiries. The woman was released without charge in relation to the theft of the pug as there was insufficient evidence to proceed. The dog was later reunited with his owner at Harlow Police Station. Owner Kate Witham said: “I had been so worried about Lola since she went missing so when I got the call from the police I was over the moon. As soon as I saw her, her little tail went into overdrive and I instantly knew it was her. I am just so happy to have her back.”
Detective Inspector Alison Hooper said: “We have been working hard to tackle a recent spike in burglaries and car crime in the Harlow area and these arrests are just part of our response. We have also recently charged another man with conspiracy to steal and two others with burglary and they are currently before the courts. If anyone has information which could assist our enquiries then I would urge them to call Harlow CID on 101. Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, it offers rewards of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and or conviction of offenders.”

The Consequences of Cuts to Essex Police #CutsHaveConsequences
The only way is Ethics
Why have we decided to talk to the public about the financial cuts being faced by Essex Police?
We have chosen to run this information and awareness campaign because we believe you the tax paying public have a right to know what the £72.5 million cuts to the policing budget mean to you.
How cuts will affect you. That crime is not falling; it is changing.
That Cuts have consequences.
Essex Police Federation represents the rank and file police officers in your county. We are police officers ourselves and like all officers in Essex we joined the police to serve and protect the public.
For the first three months of 2015 we will be giving you information that you are entitled to know. What you do with that information and knowledge is for you to decide.
Only those with knowledge and those making the decisions can stop the erosion of your police service.
But sadly those making the decisions don’t seem to want to talk to you about the cuts, so we will. More than that we believe we have a moral obligation to tell you. It is only ethically right that we do this.
We are not going to tell you how hard it is to be a police officer, we are not going to talk about pay and conditions nor are we going to talk about pensions. We will not sensationalise and we are not scaremongering.
We will however tell you the truth about policing in Essex.
We will tell you of our concerns, our worries, and what the cuts mean in real terms to you and us, the residents of Essex.
HM Inspectorate of Constabulary – which inspects policing in the public interest - has recently [in November] published their report on the state of policing in the UK for 2013/14. They state they have substantial concerns about the ability of some smaller forces to maintain an effective service in three to five years.
Essex Police Federation shares their concerns but not their time scales.
We believe forces - including Essex - are already struggling to deliver an effective service due to the cuts which have already been made.
And the public suffer.
Worse still is the prospect of further cuts to the Essex policing budget. Our fear is that the level of cuts to public services in the country – and indeed this county - will be more than we have already faced.
With the NHS and education budgets ring fenced, where will the further savings be made?
This is not a political campaign. It does not matter who is making the cuts. It is a campaign about information and informing you. You have a right to know.

Motorcyclist banned after reaching speeds of 148mph
A motorcyclist who weaved in and out of traffic at speeds up to 148mph with a pillion passenger on board has been banned from driving for 15 months.
Paul Roberts was filmed by an Essex Police motorcyclist as he rode south on the M11 reaching the highest speed ever recorded in the UK by a rider carrying a passenger.
Roberts, 43 of Malkin Drive Lane, Harlow, who runs a taxi firm in London, was riding to work on his Kawasaki ZZR 1400 with a friend as passenger on Friday September 12, 2014.
He joined the M11 at Hastingwood and was seen and followed by Pc Paul Hills who was involved in a motorcycle safety operation on the motorway.
A video camera on Pc Hill’s bike recorded events as Roberts weaved in and out of traffic across all three lanes. At one point he is seen riding through a narrow gap between a lorry and a car.
Roberts was eventually stopped near Chigwell and later summonsed for dangerous driving.
He admitted the offence and appeared for sentence at Chelmsford Crown Court today, Monday March 30. He was also ordered to do 120 hours community service, told to take an extended re-test and to pay £460 costs.

The maximum penalty for running a red light is (i) a £1,000 fine, (ii) 3 penalty points endorsed on the driver’s licence, and (iii) disqualification. Frequently, though, a driver who runs a red light will get a Fixed Penalty Notice offering a penalty of £100 and 3 penalty points to be endorsed on your licence.
Methods of Enforcement
Red light enforcement may be by an unmanned camera or by a police constable’s direct observation. If a police constable sees you run a red light, he will likely stop you, and may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice. If the police stop you for running a red light, you should – as with any motoring police stop - be prepared to show him your driving licence, vehicle registration and insurance certificate.
If you are caught be a camera, then the authorities will send a Notice of Intended Prosecution to the registered keeper of the vehicle. That person will then be required to reply within 28 days, either: (i) accepting any conditional offer of penalty; or, (ii) if the registered keeper was not driving the vehicle at the time of the infraction, giving details as to who was driving. If the registered keeper fails to identify the driver, then the court will decide whether such failure was reasonable.

ABOUT
Hi, my name is Emily. I am a wife and mom of two handsome boys.
I recently started this vlog after years of enjoying other beauty, product and mummy blogs.
I video my everyday life every week and post on a Monday and also make other videos about things I like and products I have purchased and my own tips and opinions on parenting.
This vlog is a nice way to record events that happen in our lives (a bit like a diary) for my sons. It is such a cliché but time really does go so quickly when you have children and I just wish there was a pause button to soak up every little moment with them.
I hope that this vlog can help capture our moments and that one day our boys can look back at some of them and know how much they are loved.

Allegedly, he became irate and supposedly vandalized this waste of concrete building to house people that take away your natural right to travel freely. Anyways, local police and sheriff claim that he even

Essex Police will no longer respond to "minor incidents" such as noise complaints and parking offences due to budget cuts, its chief constable said.
Stephen Kavanagh said he had lost 700 officers and at least 500 more would go as the force looks to save £60m.
He said repeat anti-social offenders would be dealt with but his focus had to be on more serious crimes.
"Too many people assume £60m will be taken out and think we will come out and do the same," he said.
"The public need to help us at this difficult time."
Mr Kavanagh told BBC Essex a number of police stations around the county would also be shut to save money.

Burglary arrest and rescue all in a day's work for the Marine Unit
Two officers from the Essex Police marine unit proved their skills on land and sea when they arrested a suspected house burglar and assisted in a water rescue within hours of each other.
Sgt Ben Felton and Pc Shaun Heckles were crewing a high-speed RIB (rigid inflatable boat) on patrol off the mouth of the River Colne near Point Clear when they were called to assist at the scene of a burglary in Brightlingsea.
They quickly headed for Brightlingsea Harbour, moored the boat, and ran about a mile to the scene of the incident.
The officers then arrested a woman who had entered a house and handed her over to land units who arrived a few minutes later. The woman was later bailed pending further enquiries.
Shortly after Ben and Shaun set off to return to their base at Burnham they were diverted to Tollesbury to assist in the rescue of an elderly yachtsman who was trapped in mud after falling from his boat at Woodrolfe Creek.
Both incidents happened on Saturday September 19.
Ben, a reservist on the marine unit, said that he usually attends burglaries and other serious incidents by car in his regular role as sergeant on the Maldon response and patrol unit.
“We had a few strange looks from members of the public who saw use running through Brightlingsea in our full sea kit of dry suit, lifejacket and thermals underneath on a sunny Saturday morning.
“It took us a few minutes to get ashore then another seven or eight minutes to get to the house, but we were first on scene and found the suspect.
“It’s not often we get called to burglaries but on this occasion we happened to be at the right place and right time to help.”
Shaun said the incident at Tollesbury was more typical of the work of the marine team.
He said: “We were heading back to base when we responded to a Coastguard call for assistance. An elderly man had fallen from his yacht around the back of Tollesbury marshes and had been spotted stuck in the mud several hours later by a passer-by.
“We attended and acted as point of contact with Coastguard by giving a situation report and exact map reference of the location of the incident. We were able to get in close enough to the male for PS Felton to disembark the boat and assist fire and rescue in recovering the male - who was hypothermic by this time.”

New Safer Essex Roads Partnership launched
Essex Police is proud to be part of the new Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP), who celebrated their official launch at Hylands House in Chelmsford this morning, Thursday, September 17.
The aim of the new partnership focuses on road safety, aimed at reducing the number of deaths and serious injuries on our roads.
Partnership members and special guests including Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston were invited to the event to be introduced to the new partnership, and how they plan to change driver behaviour through enforcement, education and engagement.
A collection of road vehicles and motorbikes were on display outside the launch, later including a helicopter from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Service.
The launch included a blessing of the partnership vehicles by the Bishop of Bradwell, the Right Reverend John Wraw, as well as a key address from The Viscount Simon, who has worked tirelessly to make Britain’s roads safer in the House of Lords for the past 22 years.
Adam Pipe, Casualty Reduction Manager for Essex Police, said: "This partnership comes at an important, challenging time, and it is essential as we move forward that we use the strength of the partnership to use in education, enforcement and engagement on road safety.
“The campaign has two strong messages focusing on vision zero, where we are aiming for zero people killed and zero injuries on Essex roads. Our campaign asks drivers and road users to make a small change in how they use the roads in order to prevent casualties from happening.
“It’s not all about what we can deliver in the future on roads, it’s about what communities and businesses can do to assist us, from promoting better driver behaviour to speaking to communities that may feel vulnerable when using our roads and working together to find a solution”.
Nicola Foster, Chair of SERP, said: “We hope to recruit more partners, people and organisations to work with us towards a vision of zero deaths and serious injuries on Essex roads. The vision is aspirational but one we believe can be achieved together.
“We are also launching the Small Changes Pledge. It is everybody’s responsibility to make sure everyone using the road makes it home safely. We believe if everyone makes a small improvement to their walking, driving or walking behaviour, collectively it could make a large change to the numbers of people killed or seriously injured on the roads”.
The Safer Essex Roads Partnership comprises of Essex County Council, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Thurrock Council, Essex Police, Essex Fire and Rescue Service, Highways England and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust.

They closed up shop at 1 PM local time on Saturday, and would not provide needless bureaucratic services to this man.
Allegedly, he became irate and supposedly vandalized this waste of concrete building to house people that take away your natural right to travel freely. Overtake only when it is safe and legal to do so. You should
not get too close to the vehicle you intend to overtake

not assume that you can simply follow a vehicle ahead which is overtaking; there may only be enough room for one vehicle
move quickly past the vehicle you are overtaking, once you have started to overtake. Allow plenty of room. Move back to the left as soon as you can but do not cut in
take extra care at night and in poor visibility when it is harder to judge speed and distance

only overtake on the left if the vehicle in front is signalling to turn right, and there is room to do so
stay in your lane if traffic is moving slowly in queues. If the queue on your right is moving more slowly than you are, you may pass on the left
give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car (see Rules 211 to 213) and 214 to 215).

Can you name distraction thieves?
We’ve released CCTV footage of three suspects we need to identify after a pensioner’s bank card was stolen and used to withdraw a four-figure sum of cash from his account.
An 82-year-old man from Hockley was using a cash machine at Barclays Bank in High Street, Southend on May 16, 2015 when he was distracted by a man just as his card was about to be returned to him.
While the victim was distracted, a woman removed his card from the cash machine and replaced it with another while a third suspect kept watch.
The stolen card was then used to withdraw a four-figure sum of cash from the victim’s account.
In a similar incident, which occurred at the same bank on the same day, a 72-year-old man’s bank card was stolen.
The Southend pensioner only discovered the theft two days later when he tried to use his card to withdraw more money from his account and found it had been swapped for one which didn’t belong to him.
A three-figure sum of cash had been removed from his account.
Both incidents happened between 10.30am and 10.50pm.
Anyone who recognises the people caught on camera are asked to call Essex Police on 101. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Essex driving instructor's elbow broken in road rage attack
Dashcam captures moment driving instructor's elbow was broken in road-rage attack because terrified 17-year-old learner driver didn't pull away from traffic lights quickly enough
A driving instructor suffered a broken elbow and his 17-year-old student was left visibly shaken after they were subjected to an aggressive road rage attack.
Chris Barnett, an instructor of 36 years, had taken novice Conner George out in heavy traffic for the first time when the teenager stopped at a busy junction.
When the lights turned green, Conner struggled to pull away and it took 20 seconds before he was able to drive off.
As the learner tried to get the Suzuki Swift in gear, an impatient driver in a white Range Rover behind began to beep impatiently.
Moments later, the 4x4 overtook the learner, pulled in front of the pair and slammed on the brakes, forcing Mr Barnett to use the dual brakes.
In an ugly confrontation, the driver of the Range Rover dressed in a hooded top then threatened Mr Barnett through the window.
The 64-year-old is heard asking the offender why he was beeping, to which he retorted: 'I beeped because the bloody light were changing'.
Mr Barnett then reminded the motorist he was with a learner and the incident was on his dash camera.
The driver was then heard shouting and swearing obscenities at him before a second man, with a bald head, emerged from the Range Rover.
As Chris attempted to open the door and call 999, one of the men violently slammed it shut on his left elbow causing it to fracture.
Conner, who was only on his fourth driving lesson, was clearly shaken up throughout the ordeal.
Mr Barnett, who teaches learner drivers in Braintree in Essex, said: 'I have had the camera for a couple years because things can happen but I've never had an incident this bad before.
'Conner faltered pulling away from the lights and there was a beep from behind. I put my hand up out the window as if to say back off and talked Conner through pulling away.
'When we came up to the next set of lights this guy in the Range Rover came alongside us and was swearing and being aggressive.
'He then pulled in front of us and slammed on his brakes. Conner tried to brake but I had to stop the car.
'This guy was being really aggressive but his attitude changed a bit as soon as I let him know he was on camera.
He threatened to break my fingers off. Then an older guy got out of the car and was waving his fist at me through the window.
'I opened the door just to make it obvious that I was not prepared to put up with it. I told them I was going to call the police and one of the guys slammed the door on my arm, fracturing my elbow.
'Conner was a bit frightened, he just tried to stay out of it, but luckily it hasn't put him off learning to drive.
'But it was bullying, outrageous behaviour. It was obvious he was a learner driver and most motorists show a bit of patience when the student struggles a bit.'
Essex Police today said no one has been charged in connection with the incident and they are no longer investigating the matter.
A spokesman said: 'Police were contacted with reports of an assault following a road rage incident in London Road, Braintree.
'We conducted a thorough investigation and voluntarily interviewed a 39-year-old man from Braintree in relation to the incident.
'Video footage of the incident was provided to officers and reviewed.
'Due to insufficient evidence, it was not possible to take this matter further.'
The footage has been viewed 88,000 on social media and members of the public have criticised the behaviour of the Range Rover driver.
Georgina Day said: 'That poor kid was just trying to learn and doing a good job in the circumstances. The Range Rover driver should be ashamed of himself. Disgraceful behaviour.'
Gary Sneddon added: 'A bit of patience is all that was required from the Range Rover driver, to be legally allowed on the road you had to have been a learner first so that is what should have been remembered here.'

Essex Police to stop responding to 'minor' issues
'Most difficult time'
The chief constable said his force would continue to respond to crimes that are "harming people" or where people are at risk of harm, such as burglaries, robberies, sex offences, child grooming and missing people.
But he said officers could not respond to the same number of things they had previously, adding that people reporting offences in which there was no immediate danger should be realistic about the response they would receive.
He said the worst cases of anti-social behaviour would be investigated but many noise, animal and traffic offences should be dealt with by other authorities.
He also raised concerns over the 999 system being abused, with someone recently getting angry with a call handler because they would not deal with a ferret trying to get into a chicken shed.

Essex man jailed for M6 drugs haul
ESSEX MAN JAILED AFTER M6 DRUGS HAUL
A man has been sentenced to six years in prison after the van he was driving was found to contain over £2 million worth of class B drugs.
Simon Brown, aged 50, of Bower Hill, Epping, Essex, was jailed at Stafford Crown Court today, Friday 28 August, after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.
He received four years imprisonment for posssesion with intent to supply Amphetamine (200kg) and 12 months for the further amount found at his home (817grams) to run concurrently. In addition, he was sentenced to two years for possession with intent to supply cannabis to run consecutively.
The discovery was made when officers from Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) carried out a routine stop of a vehicle on the southbound carriageway of the M6 near Stafford at around 10pm on Thursday 23 April.
Officers pulled the vehicle over at Stafford Services and upon searching the white Peugeot van they found nine boxes concealed amongst clothing stock. Each contained 10 to 12 packages of a suspicious substance, believed to be controlled drugs.
The driver, Brown, was arrested and taken into custody for questioning. He was charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
Tests confirmed the substance was Amphetamine, 200kg (wet weight) with the estimated street value believed to be around £2,000,000.
Further searches of Brown’s Essex home uncovered a further 817grams of Amphetamine in his garage, with an estimated street value of £8,170 and 18.5kg of Cannabis with a street value of approximately £92,500.
DC Sam Lainchbury, investigating officer, said: “This was an excellent piece of routine policing which uncovered a large amount of drugs which we believe were destined for the streets of Essex.
“Following CMPGs arrest of Brown we carried out intensive and detailed inquiries to gather the evidence against him.
"Staffordshire Police is committed to continuing the fight against drug dealers and we strive to bring them to justice. This investigation has removed a significant amount of drugs from the streets and will go some way to reducing the crimes associated with funding drug misuse, such as burglary and theft.
"Today's sentence demonstrates our dedication to this area of policing and we hope it encourages anyone with information on drug misuse in their community to contact police, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
Chief Inspector Jed White, of Central Motorway Police Group, said: “Our officers patrol the regions motorways 24/7 and deal with a wide variety of offences, from minor vehicle defects right through to arresting those, like Brown, who are involved in serious organised crime.
“This is a great example of how CMPG contribute to the wider policing work in the region, tackling what matters to their communities and preventing criminals using our roads for illegal purposes.”

PC Kopf Essex smashes door down of naked female crime victim and beat her unconscious
Sadly, this can happen to anyone in Essex, England. The victim started filming when she felt unsafe due to the threatening manner of PC Kopf of Essex Police, and his trainee PC Platt of Southend Police in Essex England. Due to being unwell, only in bed clothing due to illness, and feeling scared of PC Kopf the victim phoned the police control room to see what was going on. This was standard procedure as the victim was a long term serious crime victim (sub-judice applies to anything further on this point due to criminal prosecutions). PC Kopf refused to state his business and was very threatening, so the victim refused his entry without a female officer. She turned a camera on due to the manner of the officer. The video starts where the victim went back to the front door to tell the officers the police control room had stated that they were to wait there until the victim was phoned back (as per agreement with police). Seeing a camera, the officer lost control in front of a trainee officer, PC Platt, kicked the door into the victim, her clothing coming off, then beat her unconscious in an attempt to get the camera. The victim was a police officer and law teacher so she covered her face and did not resist the officer, who pushed her around, and beat her to get the camera, for the length of the video (at one point you can see the officer throw a fist). The victim finally fell, bashing her head on a solid floor and was knocked unconscious. PC Kopf fell on the new naked victim, at which point a witness observed what was going on. Earlier, when asked directly if he was there for a particular reason that required anything urgent, PC Kopf stated no, and towards the end of the incident, standing in the kitchen of the victim after she regained consciousness, PC Kopf stated, "You going to make a major complaint now!" He then got the victim from the floor and tried to dress her before colleagues arrived. The victim had to stop this assault, take the cuffs off (she had put on herself when PC Kopf was standing in her kitchen making the statement), and dress herself due to the unease she felt by PC Kopf attempting to dress her before his colleagues arrived. When a female officer arrived she had to be helped to dress. Later, the victim was found to have done nothing wrong, after PC Kopf tried to have her and her husband charged. Against police procedure, the victim was not send her to hospital so she again lost consciousness in police custody and had broken bones and many other injuries. There is a series of medical photos and reports, and her condition in police custody was caught on video. PC Kopf was served with investigation papers. Essex Police failed to suspend the officers or arrest them, despite the medical and video evidence, and the seriousness of the evidence, and following IPCC referral. A taped conversation with the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex found him admit that this was a terrible case and one of a few dozen where Essex Police had acted in an appalling way. The PCC has now attempted to change some Essex Police procedures. An investigating officer at Essex Police PSD later tried to stop criminal charges being brought against one officer due to a police administrative error and another later tried the same with the second officer. My friend deserves much better from the people who were there to protect her. A year of investigation so far and no criminal charges against the officers!

CRHnews - Essex Police bravery commendation to nine heroes
Nine people were commended for their bravery today (Thursday, October 2) because they stopped to help at the scene of a fatal road crash in which a Corvette was engulfed in flames.
Essex Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh presented framed commendation certificates to:
Sophie Astbury from Braintree; Michael Hall and Sally Taylor, both from Kelvedon; Ann Marie-Crowther from Chelmsford; Myra Whitaker from Braintree; Denise Freeman and Peter Hine from Grantham in Lincolnshire, and Sgt Paul Storey, an off duty Metropolitan Police Officer.
They were commended for their bravery, compassion and public spirit after they stopped to help at the incident which took place on Sunday, April 13.
The collision occurred at around 3pm on Essex Regiment Way, between a Chevrolet Corvette and a Vauxhall Astra driven by a family from Dunmow.
Corvette driver Terry Harrington, 67, from Chelmford, died at the scene before his Corvette was engulfed by flames.
The family in the Astra, a man and a woman both aged 30 and two girls aged three and 18-months old, were taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for treatment for serious injuries and are recovering at home.
Mr Kavanagh became the first Essex Chief Constable to receive an Essex Police Commendation for his actions at the scene whilst off duty.
Together they tried to remove a driver who was trapped in a sports car which had caught fire, but he was already dead.
However, they were able to help a family with two young children who were trapped inside the other car.
Mr Kavanagh, who was presented with his award by the Essex Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston, said:
"On that Sunday afternoon, I was driving along the A130 from Chelmsford towards Dunmow when I saw a plume of smoke ahead and a line of traffic. I realised there had been a nasty accident and put my blue lights on to help ensure the scene was safe.
"I found a red sports car partially engulfed in flames in the carriageway, sadly with a man trapped inside, and members of the public pulling an unconscious man from an Astra nearby – they had already removed two children from the back seats.
"Worryingly, the woman driver in the Astra was semi-conscious and trapped in the driver’s seat, with her door wedged shut. The fire from the sports car was at risk of spreading or exploding so, together with two men, we pulled the distressed woman out of the car and got her to a safe distance.
"Off-duty nurses started tending to both the man and the woman as plain-clothed and uniformed officers started to arrive. The officers first on scene tended to the couple and continued after the ambulances and helicopter arrived.
"Very shortly afterwards, a fire crew arrived and ran to the car on fire and I could see all the emergency services were at their best.
"An off-duty sergeant, Paul Storey, from Hackney, started to collect the details of all the witnesses and obtain a first account.
"On that sad day, the public at that accident were breath-takingly decent, brave and caring and the emergency services were prompt, professional, co-ordinated and compassionate.
"I was proud to have played a small part but deeply saddened we could not have done more for the poor man in the red sports car. This commendation is dedicated to him and his family.”
Mr Alston said: "I am delighted today not only to give the Chief Constable his commendation but also to meet those members of the public, who stopped to help at the scene of this tragic incident.
"It is hard to imagine being confronted by such a dreadful scene, but I do know it took great bravery and compassion on the part of all those commended here today to rescue and then help those involved and to attempt to save the life of the person who, sadly, died.
"Every day of the week, Essex Police officers and PCSOs perform acts of bravery and selflessness to protect the communities they serve. All of us who live and work in Essex, are fortunate to have such a professional police force whose members regularly put themselves in harm’s way to protect us.”

A usurper is an illegitimate or controversial claimant to power, often but not always in a monarchy. This may include a person who succeeds in establishing himself as a monarch without inheriting the throne or any other person exercising authority unconstitutionally. A person who takes the power of the country for himself or herself at the expense of the people. It may also be applied to an official acting ultra vires, outside his authority or jurisdiction.
Hymenoptera[edit]
Usurpation is a term used in biology to describe the phenomenon that occurs when a colony of eusocial insects is taken over by a queen of a different species, such as a cuckoo bumblebee (Psithyrus) or brood-parasitic paper wasp (e.g., Polistes sulcifer).[1]
Another eusocial species of wasp that is known for usurping is Metapolybia cingulata. Regardless of their size, it is very common to observe queens taking over other M. cingulata colonies, however it has also been noted that if the two colonies are similar enough, the exchange of workers or queens will be smoother because they are slightly related to each so that it is not entirely a loss to be taken over by another queen.[2]

Coordinates: 49°27.2603′N 11°02.9103′E The Nuremberg trials were a series of military tribunals, held by the Allied forces after World War II, most notable for the prosecution of prominent members of the political, military, and economic leadership of Nazi Germany. The trials were held in the city of Nuremberg, Germany. The first, and best known of these trials, described as "the greatest trial in history" by Norman Birkett, one of the British judges who presided over it,[1] was the trial of the major war criminals before the International Military Tribunal (IMT). Held between 20 November 1945 and 1 October 1946,[2] the Tribunal was given the task of trying 23 of the most important political and military leaders of the Third Reich, though one of the defendants, Martin Bormann, was tried in absentia, while another, Robert Ley, committed suicide within a week of the trial's commencement. Not included were Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, and Joseph Goebbels, all of whom had committed suicide several months before the indictment was signed.[3] The second set of trials of lesser war criminals was conducted under Control Council Law No. 10 at the U.S. Nuremberg Military Tribunals (NMT); among these included the Doctors' Trial and the Judges' Trial. This article primarily deals with the IMT; see Subsequent Nuremberg Trials for details on those trials.

CRHnews - Essex Crime Czar shock retirement announcement
Director's cut of press conference called by Nick Alston, first Essex Police and Crime Commissioner, to announce his shock decision to retire when he's 64 in May 2016, having served since November 2012.
Chief reason he says is "to be able to enjoy spending more time with my wife and family, including my three young vivacious grandchildren".
COUNTYWIDE: Chief Constable's response to news that PCC will not stand for re-election; 14/07/2015
Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh said: "The constructive scrutiny and focus on victims that Nick Alston has brought to the role of Police and Crime Commissioner has improved transparency in policing and understanding of the significant challenges Essex Police faces.
The PCC’s appreciation of the scale of the financial challenges facing Essex Police and the changing nature of crime has meant we have been able to work together on the tough decisions we need to make to keep our county safe.
Nick’s tenacity in scrutinising the force is complemented by the time he takes to speak and listen to officers of all ranks and communities from all backgrounds across the county.
Nick’s commitment to public service, intellect and deep-seated values have made a real contribution to our county.
Personally I am extremely grateful for his advice and challenge, and I look forward to working with him and his team on the big issues facing crime and policing in Essex until his retirement.”
