RealAudio

Examining the events in and around 9/11 as an extension of World War II, this broadcast analyzes those events in light of the theories of Karl Von Clausewitz (Prussian military theoretician) and Sun-Tzu (the ancient Chinese military theoretician). In particular, Von Clausewitz’s concept of “total war” is a primary foundational element of the analysis presented here. Beginning with discussion of some of the economic ramifications of what the Bush administration has done, the program examines dire predictions offered by former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and the International Monetary Fund. In addition, the broadcast reviews the economic implications of recent terror alerts for the airline business and for U.S. municipalities and states. (Recall that it is Mr. Emory’s view that the Bush administration is the point element of the Underground Reich in the United States, and that it has as its agenda the express goal of the political, physical and/or economic subjugation and/or destruction of this country. Many of the individual players within the administration, as well as those who accede to its policies, are motivated by greed and the desire to pursue global economic interests in pursuit of a world-wide version of Mussolini’s “Corporate State.” Others are conscious fascist and Nazi agents. It is Mr. Emory’s view that Karl Rove is the pivot-point for the Underground Reich within the administration.) After examining the economic and military damage done to the country by the Bush administration and its Islamofascist allies, the program examines the Muslim Brotherhood’s Al Taqwa network.

Program Highlights Include: A report by the Army War College that faults the Bush administration’s pursuit of the war on terror as a strategic error of the same type made by Hitler in World War II; investigators’ examination of the Riggs Bank (one of whose directors is Jonathan Bush, the President’s uncle) and its apparent links to the 9/11 hijackers; links of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Bank Al Taqwa to the royal family of Liechtenstein; Al Taqwa founders Youssef Nada and Ali Galeb Himmat’s propagation of six children within the United States; Muslim Brotherhood penetration of domestic Muslim communities in the United States.

1. The first part of the program is a recapitulation of some of the economic effects of the war on terror. These are to be evaluated in the context of Von Clausewitz’s concept of “total war.” For municipalities and states, the economic effects of the “war on terror” have been very grave indeed. “For cash-strapped U.S. cities and states, this week’s heightened national threat alert level has reignited concerns about costs alongside fears of a new terror attack. From overtime for police officers to extra patrols at key facilities and borders, cities nationwide must spend tens of millions of dollars each week for the additional security measures, money some local officials say they do not have.“
(“Cash-Strapped Cities Grapple with Security Costs” by Caroline Drees [Reuters]; 12/22/2003; p. 1.)

2. “It’s enormously frustrating,’ said Randy King, spokesman for the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a state capital of 49,000 people near the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant. ‘All of it costs money, lots of money, and there’s no federal reimbursement,’ he said.” (Idem.)

3. “On Sunday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security raised the color-coded terror alert level to ‘high’ orange from ‘elevated’ yellow—the fourth such move this year. Lifting the level triggers a raft of automatic additional federal security precautions, and serves as a guideline for cities and states. ‘We need to recognize that every time the government ratchets up the threat level, we force the state and local government officials to make a choice,’ said analyst David Heyman at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.” (Idem.)

4. In FTR#407, we examined the struggle between the European Airbus consortium and Boeing over the pricing of airframes in dollars vs. Euros, as well as the implication of SARS for the airline business. The recent terror alerts have deepened the hemorrhaging experienced by the air carriers. It will be interesting to see what the long-term results of this hemorrhaging will be. Will the German government-assisted Lufthansa benefit. Will the Airbus consortium benefit? Will airframes be priced in Euros? “The rash of holiday flight cancellations, security actions and terrorism warnings are going to compel many U.S. companies to reassess whether to send employees abroad in coming weeks, not only out of fear of attack but because of the inconvenience of canceled and delayed flights, business travel experts said Friday.“
(“Terror Scares Hit Airlines” [New York Times]; San Francisco Chronicle; 1/3/2004; p. B2.)

5. “Kevin Mitchell, chairman of the Business Travel Coalition, said bookings could drop 10 to 15 percent after the latest incidents. That would be particularly bad news for the airlines, which have lost business travelers—who usually pay the highest fares and account for a disproportionate share of airlines’ profit—since the industry’s peak in the year 2000, well before the Sept. 11 attacks. Dwindling business travel was a big reason that the airlines had their lowest-ever revenue last year.” (Idem.)

6. “Airlines hope that international travel to the United States will rise 5 percent during 2004, to an estimated 42.2 million arrivals from abroad, according to the Travel Industry Association, a trade group. That would have been the first increase since 2000. Moreover, the carriers were particularly optimistic about the winter travel season, which they expect to improve from last year, when bookings were depressed by the SARS outbreak and the looming war with Iraq. But the industry’s outlook dimmed as more flights were canceled Friday.” (Idem.)

7. “By Friday, seven flights bound for the United States had been canceled, including three by British Airlines, which also canceled a scheduled trip to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from London. The cancellations were in addition to jet escorts by military fighter planes within the United States, and the emergency landing of an Air France flight in Newfoundland, where the plane, passengers and baggage were searched.” (Idem.)

8. “The moves came a week after the government elevated its terror alert to high, raising the prospect that an expected increase in travel between the United States and other countries this year may be thwarted. ‘Quantifying the effect on people’s willingness to fly, or the overall cost to airlines at this point is nearly impossible,’ said Chris Tarry, an analyst in London.” (Idem.)

9. “But according to Robert Mann, Jr., an industry consultant in Port Washington, N.Y., the psychological damage could not be discounted. ‘From an industrywide level, this throws cold water on revenue growth,’ he said.” (Idem.)

10. In FTR#‘s 407, 412, 415 and 435, we examined the fact that Grover Norquist and Karl Rove were the Republican Party’s point men for both the Islamist connection to the GOP and for the drastic slashing of taxes. The potentially devastating results from the economic policies of this administration should be carefully considered. These policies have been executed in tandem with the waging of a war engendered in part by the very Islamists allied with the Norquist/Rove-sponsored Islamic Institute. Bush is the only major world leader who has ever attempted to slash revenues while waging w

ar. That this policy cannot work is a “no-brainer.” It is Mr. Emory’s view that the goal of this political and economic gambit is the physical and/or economic and/or political subjugation and/or destruction of the United States. “Pecunia nervus Belli.” (For more about the economic implications of 9/11, see—among other programs—FTR#‘s 344–346, 365–367, 372, 378, 396, 407, 412, 413, 415.) The program highlights a column by New York Times economic writer Paul Krugman, in which he warns of the danger facing the US economy. “Argentina retained the confidence of international investors almost to the end of the 1990’s. Analysts shrugged off its large budget and trade deficits; business-friendly, free-market policies would, they insisted, allow the country to grow out of all that. But when confidence collapsed, that optimism proved foolish. Argentina, once a showpiece for the new world order, quickly became a byword for economic catastrophe.“
(“Rubin Gets Shrill” by Paul Krugman; The New York Times; 1/6/2004.)

11. “So what? Those of us who have suggested that the irresponsibility of recent American policy may produce a similar disaster have been dismissed as shrill, even hysterical. (Hey, the market’s up, isn’t it?) But few would describe Robert Rubin, the legendary former Treasury secretary, as hysterical: his ability to stay calm in the face of crises, and reassure the markets, was his greatest asset. And Mr. Rubin has formally joined the coalition of the shrill.” (Idem.)

12. “In a paper presented over the weekend at the meeting of the American Economic Association, Mr. Rubin and his co-authors—Peter Orszag of the Brookings Institution and Allan Sinai of Decision Economics—argue along lines that will be familiar to regular readers of this column. The United States, they point, out, is currently running very large budget and trade deficits. Official projections that this deficit will decline over time aren’t based on ‘credible assumptions.’ Realistic projections show a huge buildup of debt over the next decade, which will accelerate once the baby boomers retire in large numbers.” (Idem.)

13. “All of this is conventional stuff, if anathema to administration apologists, who insist, in flat defiance of the facts, that they have a ‘plan’ to cut the deficit in half. What’s new is what Mr. Rubin and his co-authors say about the consequences. Rather than focusing on the gradual harm inflicted by deficits, they highlight the potential for catastrophe.” (Idem.)

14. ” ‘Substantial ongoing deficits,’ they warn, ‘may severely and adversely affect expectations and confidence, which in turn can generate a self-reinforcing negative cycle among the underlying fiscal deficit, financial markets, and the real economy. . . . The potential costs and fallout from such fiscal and financial disarray provide perhaps the strongest motivation for avoiding substantial, ongoing budget deficits.’ In other words, do cry for us, Argentina: we may be heading down the same road. . . .” (Idem.)

15. The International Monetary Fund is warning of the grave consequences of the Bush/Norquist/Rove economic policies as well. “With its rising budget deficit and ballooning trade imbalance, the United States is running up a foreign debt of such record-breaking proportions that it threatens the financial stability of the global economy, according to a report released Wednesday by the International Monetary Fund.“
(“I.M.F. Says U.S. Debts Threaten World Economy” by Elizabeth Becker and Edmund L. Andrews; The New York Times; 1/8/2004.)

16. “Prepared by a team of I.M.F. economists, the report sounded a loud alarm about the shaky fiscal foundation of the United States, questioning the wisdom of the Bush administration’s tax cuts and warning that large budget deficits pose ‘significant risks’ not just for the United States but for the rest of the world. The report warns that the United States’ net financial obligations to the rest of the world could be equal to 40 percent of its total economy within a few years—‘an unprecedented level of external debt for a large industrial country,’ according to the fund, that could play havoc with the value of the dollar and international exchange rates.” (Idem.)

17. “The danger, according to the report, is that the United States’ voracious appetite for borrowing could push up global interest rates and thus slow global investment and economic growth. ‘Higher borrowing costs abroad would mean that the adverse effects of U.S. fiscal deficits would spill over into global investment and output,’ the report said. . . .” (Idem.)

18. ” . . . But in the report, fund economists warned that the long-term fiscal outlook was far grimmer, predicting that underfunding for Social Security and Medicare will lead to shortages as high as $47 trillion over the next 70 years or nearly 500 percent of the current gross domestic product in the coming decades. . . .” (Idem.)

19. In order to fully grasp the nature of the subversion that the Bush administration/Underground Reich faction is undertaking, the broadcast highlights Prussian military theoretician Karl Von Clausewitz’s theories on total war. (For more about Von Clausewitz, see FTR#‘s 366, 396, 441.) In his formulations about “total war,” Von Clausewitz advanced the notion that war, politics and economics could be understood as elements of a continuum. War is seen as an extension of politics and vice versa. By the same token, war and economics are inextricably linked. As Tacitus noted, “pecunia nervus belli”—“money is the sinew of war.” One should note that economic, political and military disintegration also produce demoralization on the part of those who experience it. The effect of this morale on civic spirit and the will of populations to endure adversity is an important consideration in the context of the waging of war. “Karl Von Clausewitz–Prussian general whose writings, especially On War, advocated the concept of total war, in which all the enemy’s territory, property, and citizens are attacked. . . . By means of a lengthy discussion of a variety of situations likely to confront the military leader, Clausewitz tried to develop in his reader a theoretically founded military judgement, capable of weighing all pertinent factors in a given situation. He stated that strategy should aim at three main targets; the enemy’s forces, his resources, and his will to fight. . . .“
(Encyclopedia Britannica; 1997 edition; p. 361.)

20. ” . . .On War has had a profound influence on modern strategic concepts. Its most significant single contribution is the doctrine of political direction in military matters. In maintaining that ‘war is nothing but a continuation of political intercourse with the admixture of different means,’ he denied that war is an end in itself. . . . By the middle of the 20th century, when new long-range weapons systems had appeared, the significance of Clausewitz’ strategic concepts relating exclusively to land warfare declined although many of his basic ideas remained as valid as ever.” (Idem.)

21. The “bleeding of America” instituted by the Bush administration (which Mr. Emory views as the point element of the Underground Reich) extends to the military. A recent report published by the Army War College compares Bush’s over-extension of the American military to the strategic mistakes made by the Germans in the two World Wars. It is Mr. Emory’s view that the Underground Reich has accomplished this as a matter of deliberate policy. In al

l probability, however, most of those who sanctioned the moves that led to this overextension were acting out of greed, ignorance, cynicism and stupidity, rather than as a matter of conscious subversion. As discussed in other programs, it is Mr. Emory’s view that Karl Rove is the Martin Bormann of the Bush White House—the point person for the Underground Reich. “A scathing new report published by the Army War College broadly criticizes the Bush administration’s handling of the war on terrorism, accusing it of taking a detour into an ‘unnecessary’ war in Iraq and pursuing an ‘unrealistic’ quest against terrorism that may lead to U.S. wars with states that pose no serious threat.“
(“Army War College Report Critical of Bush Foreign Policy” by Thomas E. Ricks [Washington Post]; San Francisco Chronicle; 1/12/2004; p. A9.)

22. “The report, by visiting U.S. Professor Jeffrey Record, who is on the faculty of the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Warns that as a result of those mistakes, the Army is ‘near the breaking point.’ It recommends, among other things, scaling back the scope of the ‘global war on terrorism’ and instead focusing on the narrower threat posed by the al Qaeda terrorist network.” (Idem.)

23. ” ‘The global war on terrorism as currently defined and waged is dangerously indiscriminate and ambitious, and accordingly . . . its parameters should be readjusted,’ Record writes. The anti-terrorism campaign ‘is strategically unfocused, promises more than it can deliver, and threatens to dissipate U.S. military resources in an endless and hopeless search for absolute security,’ he said. . . .” (Idem.)

24. ” . . . But retired Army Col. Douglas Lovelace, the director of the Strategic Studies Institute whose Web site carries Record’s 56-page monograph, hardly distanced himself from it. ‘I think that the substance that Jeff brings out in the article really, really needs to be considered,’ he said.” (Idem.)

25. “Publication of the essay was approved by the Army War College’s commandant, Maj. Gen. David Huntoon, Lovelace said. He said he and Huntoon expected the study to be controversial, but added, ‘He considers it to be under the umbrella of academic freedom.’ Larry DiRita, the top Pentagon spokesman, said he had not read the Record study. He added: ‘If the conclusion is that we need to be scaling back in the global war on terrorism, it’s not likely to be on my reading list anytime soon.’” (Idem.)

26. “Many of Record’s arguments, such as the contention that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was deterred and did not present a threat, have been made before by critics of the administration. Iraq, he concludes, ‘was a war-of-choice distraction from the war of necessity against’ al Qaeda. But it is unusual to have such views published by the War College, the Army’s premier academic institution.” (Idem.)

27. “In addition, the essay goes further than many critics in examining the Bush administration’s handling of the war on terrorism. Record’s core criticism is that the administration is biting off more than it can chew. He likens the scale of U.S. ambitions in the war on terrorism to Hitler’s overreach in World War II. ‘A cardinal rule of strategy is to keep your enemies to a manageable number,’ he writes. ‘Thee Germans were defeated in two world wars . . . because their strategic ends outran their available means.’ [Italics are Mr. Emory’s]” (Idem.)

28. It is Mr. Emory’s view that Wesley Clark represents an element of the American power elite that is genuinely patriotic and strives to see the U.S. survive and prosper. In all probability, General Clark (a man who has spent his entire life in the service of his country) is motivated by sincere, intelligent patriotism. “Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark on Monday blamed ‘bad leadership’ by President Bush for the nation’s heightened terrorism-alert status, saying it was a ‘strategic mistake’ to shift resources to Iraq from the hunt for Osama bin Laden in Pakistan and Afghanistan. ‘A wise leadership would not have put us into Iraq at this time,’ Clark told reporters after serving hot meals at Manna House, a non-profit agency. ‘Instead we’d have concentrated on Osama bin Laden. . . .“
(“Clark: Bush Policy on Iraq Led to Latest Terror Alert” by Edward Wyatt [New York Times]; San Jose Mercury News; 12/23/2003; p. 6A.)

29. Embodying the structural economic relationships between the Bush administration and the Saudi and Middle Eastern Arab financiers of Al Qaeda, the Riggs Bank is now a focal point of investigation by 9/11 investigators. (As discussed in FTR#431, Jonathan Bush—uncle of the seated President—is a director of the Riggs Bank. Riggs Bank appears to have been a repository of finances directed to 9/11 conspirators. For more about Jonathan Bush, see also: “Bush-linked Company Handled Security for the WTC, Dulles and United” by Margie Burns; Prince George’s Journal [Maryland]; 2/4/2003) “A U.S. federal banking regulators looking into the Saudi Arabian embassy’s bank accounts are examining numerous transactions, totaling tens of millions of dollars in cash, that weren’t properly reported, according to documents and interviews with lawyers and regulators. While the U.S. investigation into the Saudi accounts was previously known, the discoveries at Riggs National Corp., show it is far broader than previously disclosed. When the inquiry began in 2002, it focused on only a few thousand dollars thought to be indirectly related to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Now, investigators are trying to account for millions of dollars in hard-to-trace cash.“
(“Probe of Saudi Embassy Widens As Bank Activity Is Scrutinized” by Glenn R. Simpson; The Wall Street Journal; 1/14/2004; p. A3.)

30. “Riggs repeatedly failed in 2001 and 2002 to file suspicious-activity reports related to cash transactions in the low tens of millions of dollars in Saudi accounts, said people familiar with the matter. While the basics of the large cash transactions were reported, the Treasury Department’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency accused the bank of failing to analyze the transactions for suspicious characteristics, as money-laundering rules require. In July, after the transactions were discovered, Treasury imposed unusually stringent controls and changes on the Washington bank holding company, according to investigators. . . .” (Idem.)

31. ” . . . Before Sept. 11, U.S. officials often turned a blind eye to the preference of many wealthy Saudis for carrying cash. Saudi diplomats often obtain large quantities of cash before a trip, then redeposit most of it in the bank upon their return, generating heavy turnover in accounts.” (Idem.)

32. “The inquiry began after investigators in 2002 found indications that funds from the Riggs account of Princess Haifa al Faisal, wife of Prince Bandar, ended up with two Sept. 11 hijackers. The Saudis insist the money was intended for charity, and investigators have no reason to aid the Sept. 11 plot.” (Ibid.; pp. A3-A8.)

33. Much of the rest of the program turns to discussion of the Liechtenstein outcroppings of the Al Taqwa Bank. (For more about Al Taqwa, see—among other programs—FTR#‘s 343, 354, 356, 357, 359, 377, 378, 381, 382, 413, 415, 416, 423, 425, 432, 433, 435. In addition, be sure to check out three very impo

“The Bush administration acted Monday to financially paralyze two foreign entities and an individual believed to be providing money for al Qaeda’s terror network. The Treasury Department added to its list of suspected terrorist financiers: Vazir, a nonprofit organization in Travnik, Bosnia; a key representative of the group, Safet Durguti; and Hochburg AG, a company located in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. . . .Hochburg A.G. sprang up as the successor organization to BA Taqwa for Commerce and Real Estate Co. Ltd., which the United States also put on its list of terrorist financiers last year, Treasury said.“

34. Next, the program reviews information from FTR#425 about the genesis of Al Taqwa network’s involvement in Liechtenstein. The Bank Al Taqwa is the financial branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. (For more about the Brotherhood, see—among other programs—FTR#‘s 343, 377, 382, 416, 433, 435, 439.

” . . . In 1976, Hisham al-Talib, Muhammad M. Shamma, and Jamal Barzinji, the founders of the SAAR network founded a bank in the small kingdom of Liechtenstein, in the city of Vaduz. They named it Nada International after its director, Youssef M. Nada. Nada, an Egyptian-born naturalized Italian citizen in his seventies, a good friend of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, was one of the most prominent leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood. . . After he was set free, he left for Europe, where he established the Muslim Brotherhood’s major financial organizations—and those of al-Qaeda. Nada also became director of two banks founded in the Bahamas: Bank al-Taqwa—‘fear of Allah’—and Akida Bank Private. . .“
(Terrorist Hunter by “Anonymous” [Rita Katz]; CCC [imprint of Harper Collins]; Copyright 2003 by Harper Collins [HC]; ISBN 0–06-052819–2; p. 310)

35. A very significant detail concerns the fact that Nada employed Sulaiman Abdul Aziz al-Rajhi. In turn, Nada and his associates Barzinji and al-Talib worked for the SAAR foundation, intimately connected to the Republican ethnic outreach organization and the Islamic Institute. (For more about the GOP/Islamic Institute/SAAR connection, see—among other programs—FTR#‘s 356, 357, 415, 433, 435.) ” . . . Other clients of al-Taqwa included several members of the Bin Laden family, including brothers and sisters of Usama. As Akida Bank’s director, Nada rather amazingly employed one Sulaiman Abdul Aziz al-Rajhi: one of the Saudi brothers behind SAAR. So Al-Rajhi, with his legendary riches, worked for Nada. Yet Nada worked for Barzinji and al-Talib, who in turn worked for al-Rajhi’s charity, the SAAR Foundation. Are you good and confused? That’s the general idea.” (Ibid.; p. 311.)

36. More about the Al Taqwa Liechtenstein connection is presented in the following article, which discusses (among others) Soliman Biheiri, one of the links between Al Taqwa and the targets of the Operation Green Quest raids of 3/20/2002. (For more about Biheiri, see FTR#‘s 425, 439.) “A man charged last week on immigration infractions and suspected by prosecutors of financial links to terrorism is seen by government investigators as a possible key to unraveling an alleged terrorism-financing network spanning from Virginia to the secretive kingdom of Liechtenstein. Soliman Biheiri, a native of Egypt, was convicted in a federal court in Virginia on charges of lying on his citizenship application. It is the first conviction to be handed down in a major terrorism investigation involving a cluster of Islamic charities and companies in Virginia. . . .“
(“Terror Fund Trail Leads to Alpine Kingdom” by Marc Perelman; Forward; 10/17/2003; accessed at www.forward.com/issues/2003/03.10.17/news4.terror.htm1 .)

37. ” . . . Sources close to the investigation said prosecutors asked for the unusual sentencing because they think Biheiri, who was held as a material witness before his trial, has deep knowledge of the so-called SAAR network. The network, a group of Muslim charities and companies based in Virginia, is believed to have ties in two European tax havens, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.” (Idem.)

38. “In an affidavit filed in support of Biheiri’s detention, special agent David Kane accused him of possibly funneling $3.7 million from the Virginia charities to terrorists through his New Jersey-based real estate investment company, BMI. Kane also alleged that he had business and personal relationships with Hamas leader Moussa Abu Marzook, suspected Al Qaeda and Hamas backer Yassin Qadi and Sami Al-Arian, a Florida university professor indicted for his alleged leadership position in Palestinian Islamic Jihad. . . .” (Idem.)

39. One of the most important connections illustrated in this article is the evidentiary tributary connecting the Bank Al Taqwa and the royal family of Liechtenstein. Liechtenstein is one of the principal “funny money” centers of Europe, and a major pivot point for the Bormann organization. This information should be evaluated against the background of the information presented in FTR#‘s 357, 359, 377, 378. Those broadcasts highlight the intersection between the Al Taqwa milieu and European far-right interests, including the P-2 and Alleanza Nationale milieu in Italy. These links with powerful European capital interests and far-right networks indicate that there is much more going on here than just Islamic fundamentalism. ” . . . The prosecution also alleged

that Biheiri is linked to a secretive financial network in Switzerland and Liechtensstein called Al Taqwa, which American and European investigators say is a financial backer of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood, often depicted as the ideological parent of most radical Islamic groups, recently has come under government scrutiny for its possible direct role in supporting terrorism, most prominently because of Al Taqwa.” (Ibid.; p. 2)

40. “The Bush administration and the United Nations have designated the Al Taqwa network and its main officials—two self-avowed Muslim Brothers and an admitted Nazi sympathizer—as supporters of Al Qaeda. As a result, their assets have been frozen and they are the focus of a Swiss investigation. The Al Taqwa officials have repeatedly rejected the charges. At the Biheiri detention hearing last month, prosecutor Steven Ward described Biheiri as the Muslim Brotherhood’s ‘financial toehold in the U.S.’” (Idem.)

41. “The prosecution said it had established links between Biheiri and the two principals of Al Taqwa, Youssef Nada and Ghaleb Himmat. According to testimony from special agent Kane of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the addresses of Nada and Himmat were found in Biheiri’s laptop computer. Kane told the court that there were ‘other indications’ of connections between al Taqwa and Biheiri’s company BMI, including financial transactions. . . .” (Idem.)

42. “. . . One company in the Al Taqwa galaxy that was designated by the United States and the U.N. as a terrorist-related entity is a Liechtenstein entity called Asat Trust. Its director Martin Wachter, told the Forward this year that Asat Trust operates merely as a registry for businesses and is not involved in the operation of any company. He added that the American government had wrongfully designated Asat Trust as a terrorist-related entity because it had once represented Al Taqwa in a small real estate deal in Switzerland.” (Ibid.; pp. 2–3.)

43. “Still, copies of business registration documents on file with authorities in Liechtenstein show that Asat Trust has been intimately involved with the Al Taqwa network during the last 30 years, registering changes in company names, personnel and financial structure, which may explain why Asat Trust landed on the American and U.N. terrorist lists.” (Ibid.; p. 3.)

44. The information about the Al Taqwa links with the royal family of Liechtenstein are set forth as follows: “The records also shed light on the involvement of one member of the royal family of Liechtenstein in Asat Trust. According to the documents, deceased Prince Emanuel von und zu Liechtenstein became a board member of Asat Trust in May 1970 and stayed until November 1990, when he was replaced by Wachter, the trust’s current director. Florian Krenkel, a spokesman for the royal family, said Prince Emmanuel had died in 1987 and that he was a distant cousin from ruling Prince Hans Adam II. . . .” (Idem.)

45. ” . . . There also appears to be some links between Asat Trust and a bank owned by the Liechtenstein royal family. Several Asat Trust documents feature on their letterheads ‘Bank in Liechtenstein AG’ beneath ‘Asat Trust.’ The royal family bank has changed its name and is now called LGT bank. A telephone and an e-mail query to the bank’s spokesman Hans-Martin Uehringer went unreturned.” (Idem.)

46. “Biheiri’s wife told federal agents in may 2002 that her husband had left the United States in mid-2002 to work for the ‘Liechtenstein bank’ in Switzerland, according to the sworn testimony of special agent Kane. Biheiri himself told Kane that his job at the bank consisted of ‘investment banking with high net worth clients and included significant travel between Egypt and Saudi Arabia,’ according to the affidavit.” (Idem.)

47. “Biheiri was familiar with Switzerland before moving to the United States in 1985. He earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of Freiburg in Switzerland and worked for a Swiss bank, according to a transcript of a deposition he made at a separate trial. Furthermore, in 1984 he set up and presided over an Islamic and Arab student group in Zurich, according to Swiss record obtained by the Forward. Biheiri dissolved the association in July 2002, the records show.” (Ibid.; p. 4.)

48. “In March 1986, he founded BMI, a Secaucus, N.J.-based investment bank specializing in real estate investments, according to copies of New Jersey corporate records provided to the Forward by the Investigative Project, a Washington-based terrorist watchdog specialized in Muslim groups.” (Idem.)

49. “Prosecutors contend that BMI and its affiliates received $3.7 million between 1992 and 1998 from the American branch of the International Islamic Relief Organization, or IIRO, which is located in the Virginia area where the SAAR network buildings were raided by federal agents in March 2002. The IIRO is a major Saudi charity that has been suspected by the United States of links to Hamas, Gamaa Islamiya and Osama bin Laden at least since 1996, according to a copy of a CIA report from that year obtained by the Forward. IIRO officials have consistently denied terrorist links.” (Idem.)

50. “Al Taqwa also appears to have some links to the SAAR network. Two operatives from SAAR-related companies and charities, Jamal Barzinji and Hisham al Talib, were board members of one of the network’s companies in Liechtenstein during the mid-1970’s, according to incorporation records. . . .” (Idem.)

51. One of the most startling revelations contained in this article concerns the apparent siring of six children by the Al Taqwa founders in the United States! An educated guess would be that they were in the country working on the Muslim Brotherhood’s recruitment of fighters to go to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets. The development of the anti-Soviet mujahadin appears to have set the stage for the incubation of an anti-U.S. mujahadin, courtesy of the Muslim Brotherhood. ” . . . There are also indications that both Nada and Himmat, the Al Taqwa principals who today live in an Italian enclave bordering Switzerland and have acquired Italian citizenship, spent time in the United States in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. According to a translated copy of a 1996 Italian intelligence report, they each had three children born in the United States—five of them born in Silver Spring, Md., between 1979 and 1984.” (Idem.)

52. An ominous development concerns the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into the U.S. and its apparent ability to forge bonds with domestic Muslim populations in this country. This point will be discussed at greater length below. Note, for the purposes of present discussion, Youssuf Al Qaradawi, a principal director of Al Taqwa. Biheiri was an associate of Al Qaradawi. ” . . . According to the Kane affidavit, Biheiri also had relations with a prominent Egyptian religious leader from the Muslim Brotherhood called Sheikh Youssouf Qaradawi. He acknowledged hosting him during when the sheikh visited America several years ago, according to the affidavit. Now living in Qatar, Qaradawi has been barred from entering America since November 1999 because of his alleged support for terrorism. He has issued fatwas supporting suicide bombings in Israel and attacks on American troops in Iraq, according to documents produced by the Biheiri trial.” (Ibid.; p. 5.)

53. “Qaradawi is listed as one of the shareholders of the Bahamas branch of Al Taqwa bank, according to a copy of a 1999 list of shareholders in possession of the Forward. This Branch shut down in April 2001. Press reports said the closure was the result of Jordanian, French and American intelligence reports which affirmed that Al Qaeda money coming from Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates had been channeled through Al Taqwa. . . .” (Idem.)

54. In FTR#‘s 381, 386, 439 we examined the inroads made by the Islamofas

cist Muslim Brotherhood within the United States. That topic is further developed here. The implications of having an organization like this operating in the United States is one to be carefully considered. Numerous broadcasts have discussed an Underground Reich Fifth Column in the United States composed of domestic allies of the Underground Reich in addition to Islamofascist/Muslim Brotherhood elements. It appears that the inroads the Brotherhood has made here may be paving the way for serious recruitment of U.S. Muslims to their cause. “One afternoon, Mustafa Saied, a junior at the University of Tennessee, was summoned by a friend to a nearly empty campus cafeteria. The two settled themselves in a quiet corner, and Mr. Saied’s friend invited him to join the Muslim Brotherhood. ‘Everything I had learned pointed to the Muslim Brotherhood being an awesome thing, the elite movement,’ says Mr. Saied of his initiation in 1994. ‘I cannot tell you the feeling that I felt—awesome power.’” (“A Student Journeys Into a Secret Circle of Extremism” by Paul M. Barrett; The Wall Street Journal; 12/23/2003; p. A1.)

55. “On that day in Knoxville, Mr. Saied entered a secretive community that was slowly building a roster of young men committed to spreading fundamentalist Islam in the U.S. A movement launched 75 years ago in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood has inspired terrorist acts, as well as social reform throughout the Middle East and has chapters in some European nations. Until recently, law-enforcement officials saw little evidence that the organization was active in the U.S. . . .” (Idem.)

56. Mr. Saied’s encounters included coming in contact with Al Taqwa’s Al Qaradawi. ” . . . Like many activist Muslim students, Mr. Saied belonged to an Islamic study group. His often focused on the writings of Youssef Al Qaradawi, an Egyptian cleric based in Qatar who is a leading figure in the Muslim Brotherhood movement. Sheik Qaradawi is known among many Muslims as relatively moderate on such issues as relations with the West, while endorsing what he calls ‘martyrdom operations’ against Israel and Jews. . . .” (Ibid.; p. A8.)

57. “Today, the Brotherhood remains an active, controversial organization working within the political systems of some Arab countries. Its violent offshoots include the faction that assassinated Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1981 and the Palestinian terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Another outgrowth of the Brotherhood, Egyptian Islamic jihad, is led by Osama bin Laden’s top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahiri, who merged his organization into the al Qaeda network in 1998. In the U.S., the Brotherhood has not operated openly. But federal prosecutors say they are investigating whether Brotherhood members who arrived in the U.S. decades ago have used businesses and charities here to raise and launder money for terrorism abroad. . . .” (Idem.)

58. ” . . . In December 1995, Mr. Saied attended another Muslim Arab Youth Association conference at a hotel in Toledo, Ohio, Sheik Qaradawi, the cleric affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, gave a speech later transcribed and translated by the Investigative Project, a terrorism-research group based in Washington. Islam will ‘overcome all the religions’ and dominate the world, the sheik told his audience of several hundred people.” (Idem.)

59. “He quoted Islamic texts as saying ‘You shall continue to fight the Jews, and they will fight you, until the Muslims will kill them. And the Jew will hide behind the stone and the tree, and the stone and the tree will say, ‘Oh, servant of Allah, Oh, Muslim, this is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him!’ The resurrection will not come before this happens.” (Idem.)

60. Next, the program reviews an item from FTR#439. Al Taqwa’s Al-Qardawi has also been involved with the establishment of a mosque in Boston. “The Islamic organization poised to build the largest mosque in the Northeast on a site in Roxbury has long-standing ties to an Egyptian cleric who praises suicide bombings and a Muslim activist indicted last week in a terrorism financing probe. The Islamic Society of Boston, which has city approval to build a sprawling $22 million Islamic cultural center and mosque on Malcolm X Boulevard, has had a long association with Dr. Yusuf Abdullah al-Qaradawi, whose vocal support of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas prompted the State Department to bar him from entering the U.S. four years ago.“
(“Radical Islam: Outspoken Cleric, Jailed Activist Tied to New Hub Mosque” by Jonathan Wells, Jack Meyers, Maggie Mulvihill and Kevin Wisniewski; The Boston Herald; 10/28/2003.)

61. In addition, Abdurahman Muhammad Alamoudi (another Al Taqwa associate) is affiliated with this mosque. FTR#‘s 381, 386, 425 examine the infiltration of Muslim Brotherhood elements and ideology into the African-American community. (For more about Alamoudi, see information presented above, as well as in FTR#‘s 433, 435. Significantly, Alamoudi—with important connections to the GOP—appears to have been involved with the establishment of an Al Qaeda/Muslim Brotherhood Fifth Column within the U.S. military. For more information on this, see ” ‘Countdown with Keith Olberman’ for Oct. 23″; MSNBC News; 10/23/2003; accessed at: www.msnbc.com/news/984616.asp.) “The local religious organization, now headquartered on Prospect Street in Cambridge, was founded by Abdurahman Muhammad Alamoudi—a high-profile Washington, D.C. activist who has publicly supported Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations.” (Idem.)

62. Consider the situation of the U.S. in recent years, in light of what is to follow. Imagine, also, that this is what the Underground Reich is doing and intends to do to the United States. It is Mr. Emory’s considered opinion that this is in fact the case. (As discussed in FTR#‘s 290, 291, 426, 427, 428, the reality of contemporary world politics involves an “Underground Japanese Empire” as well. That, literally, is an extension of fascist Japan.) With the Muslim Brotherhood’s recruitment effort in the United States, the possibilities for promoting fractious, devastating civil conflict in the United States along the lines advocated by Sun Tzu are considerable. ” ‘There is no art higher than that of destroying the enemy’s resistance without a fight on the battlefield. The direct tactic of war is necessary only on the battlefield; but only the indirect tactic can lead to a real and lasting victory.’”
(The Art of War by Sun-Tzu; Excerpted in The Service: The Memoirs of General Reinhard Gehlen; World Publishing Company; Copyright 1972 [HC]; p.331.)

63. ” ‘Subvert anything of value in the enemy’s country. Implicate the emissaries of the major powers in criminal undertakings; undermine their position and destroy their reputation in other ways as well, and expose them to the public ridicule of their fellow citizens.’” (Idem.)

64. ” ‘Do not shun the aid of even the lowest and most despicable people. Disrupt the work of their government with every means you can.’” (Idem.)

65. ’ ‘Spread disunity and dispute among the citizens of the enemy’s country. Turn the young against the old. Use every means to destroy their arms, their supplies, and the discipline of the enemy’s forces. Debase old traditions and accepted gods. Be generous with promises and rewards to purchase intelligence and accomplices. Send out your secret agents in all directions. Do not skimp with money or with promises, for they yield a high return.’” (Idem.)

66. As noted in—among other broadcasts—FTR#‘s 356, 357, 376, 390, 415, 423, 433, 435, the milieu of SAAR and the other objects of the Green Quest raids significantly overlaps the GOP’s ethnic outreach organization and the Bush administration. The fact that elements of the Al Qaeda milieu appear to have been involved in Western intelligence covert operations in the Balkans, in addition to the GOP ethnic/Green Quest connection may well account for the hostile interest in the investigators of Operation Green Quest, including Rita Katz, A.K.A. “Anonymous.” “The CIA was investigating me and the SAAR investigators from Green Quest and Customs. The CIA and the FBI investigated everyone who had anything to do with the SAAR investigation. White vans and SUV’s with dark windows appeared near all the homes of the SAAR investigators. All agents, some of whom were very experienced with surveillance, knew they were being followed. So was I. I felt that I was being followed everywhere and watched at home, in the supermarket, on the way to work . . . and for what? . . .“
(Terrorist Hunter by “Anonymous” [Rita Katz]; CCC [imprint of Harper Collins]; Copyright 2003 by Harper Collins [HC]; ISBN 0–06-052819–2; p. 328.)

67. ” . . . The Customs agents were questioned. So were their supervisors. So was the U.S. attorney on the SAAR case. One of the questions they were all asked was whether they’d leaked material to me. They all kept saying that this was the most preposterous idea; they all said that before I came, none of them had the slightest clue about SAAR and 555. They said that there was nothing of value they could give me that I didn’t have already. That it was I who gave them the material, not the other way around. None of the investigated parties has the slightest clue as to the real reason they were being investigated.” (Ibid.; p. 329.)

68. “Risking criticism for being unfoundedly paranoid, I must convey my theory about the investigation and CIA’s involvement in it, I don’t know for certain what’s the deal with the CIA investigating the SAAR investigators, but it sure feels as if someone up in that agency doesn’t like the idea that the Saudi Arabian boat is rocked. The raids on 555 had taken place already—the CIA couldn’t change that—but investigating and giving the people behind the raids a hard time is a most efficient way of making sure the SAAR investigation stops there. Which, come to think of it, may be the reason the government looks so unfavorably on the lawsuit filed by 9–11 victims’ families against several Saudi entities and individuals, accusing them of funding terrorism and seeking damages.” (Idem.)
