Stars of the ABC miniseries The Straits, Aaron Fa'aoso and Jimi Bani are set to team up again, this time for a production of Daniel Keene's Half & Half.

The award-winning duo will once again play brothers in this intriguing exploration of masculinity, familial relationships and childhood memory.
Half & Half is a play by multi-award winning Australian playwright Daniel Keene, who is acclaimed for his poetic and theatrical works, particularly overseas where he is acknowledged as one of Europe's most notable contemporary playwrights.
The work makes liberal use of metaphor as the action unfolds in a suburban kitchen where two half-brothers reunite in the home of their late mother.
DANIEL KEENE's plays have been performed widely throughout Australia and overseas. His plays, which include All Souls, Cho Cho San, Silent Partner, Low, Terminus, The Architect's Walk and The Ninth Moon, have received numerous literary awards.
Absurd, comic and theatrical, Half and Half is a witty examination of the nature of language and the language of nature.

When Harry, the head of the family, starts to plan his succession, a power struggle is sparked between brother and brother, wife and daughter. Under attack from ambitious bikies and mercurial PNG raskols, the family must hold together through torture, assassination and imprisonment.

Rena Owen is a New Zealand actress in film, theatre and television. She is of Maori, Torres Strait Islander and Pakeha (European) descent. Owen is best known in the lead role of Beth in the cult classic movie Once Were Warriors (1994) directed by Lee Tamahori. The role earned Owen a number of awards including Best Actress at the Montreal World Film Festival and San Diego International Film Festival. Owen has also worked with arthouse director Rolf de Heer, one of Australia's most well known directors, in the film Dance Me to My Song (1998). Owen played the role of Rix in the movie which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the AFI Awards.
In Once Were Warriors, Owen played the role of abused Māori housewife Beth Heke alongside Temuera Morrison who played the role of her husband. In the cast were other prominent Maori actors including Hollywood star Cliff Curtis and veteran stage and screen actor George Henare. The movie broke box office records in New Zealand and even surpassed Jane Campion's film The Piano. Once Were Warriors is predominantly narrated from Beth's perspective. Owen reprised the role in the film's sequel, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted? (1999).

Aaron Fa'aoso is an Australian television and film actor, probably best known for his role on East West 101. He is of Torres Strait Islander and Tongan descent. His mother is from Saibai Island.
Fa'aoso began his acting television career in 2006, where he played Eddie Gaibui on RAN, a six-part drama, which aired on SBS. In late 2007 (continuing in early 2008), he appeared on another SBS drama series, East West 101, playing Detective Sonny Koa.
In 2008, he had a guest role in Sea Patrol, which aired on Network Nine.
In 2009, he appeared in season two of East West 101 and starred in the film, Subdivision. In 2011, he returned to star in the third, and final season, of East West 101 on SBS.
In 2012, he will appear in ABC1's 10-part drama series, The Straits.

Firass Dirani (pronounced Feh-ress; born 29 April 1984) is an Australian actor known for his roles of Nick Russell, the Red Mystic Ranger on Power Rangers Mystic Force, Charlie on the 2009 Australian film The Combination, and as John Ibrahim on the 2010 series Underbelly: The Golden Mile.
Dirani pursued his acting career in Hollywood before receiving a call to play the role of John Ibrahim in Underbelly: The Golden Mile. In April 2010, Dirani was named Cleo Bachelor of the Year. Other films include Killer Elite, which starred Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Yvonne Strahovski and Robert De Niro. Dirani won the Logie for Most Popular New Male Talent and the Graham Kennedy award for most outstanding new talent, at the 2011 Logie Awards.

Once Were Warriors 1994 New Zealand author Alan Duff's bestselling first novel, published in 1990. It tells the story of an urban Maori family, the Hekes, and portrays the reality of domestic violence in New Zealand. It was the basis of a 1994 film of the same title, directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Rena Owen and Temuera Morrison, which made its U.S. premiere at the Hawaii International Film Festival.

Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including Kaulder, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the Queen curses Kaulder with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife.
