The Chevrolet Agile is a subcompact car developed by Chevrolet in Brazil and built in Argentina. The vehicle is powered by a Family 1 engine 1.4 L Flex-fuel engine.
Based on the GPiX Concept which was introduced at the 2008 São Paulo Auto Show, the Agile went on sale in 2009 and competes with the Volkswagen Fox and similar models. The second generation of Chevrolet Montana pick-up truck shares the same platform with Agile, as well as the 1.4 engine.
The Agile is available in two trim levels; LT and LTZ, with a base LS in some markets. Anti-lock braking systems are available on the LTZ model.
In most South American markets, the 1389cc engine produces 92 PS (68 kW; 91 bhp) and 120 N·m (89 lb·ft). The Brazilian Agile Flexfuel 1.4L 8-valve engine produces 97 PS (71 kW; 96 bhp) and 129 N·m (95 lb·ft) torque with petrol, 102 PS (75 kW; 101 bhp) and 132 N·m (97 lb·ft)with ethanol.
The Chevrolet Agile has been rated as totally unsafe by Latin NCAP, scoring zero stars for adult occupants and two stars for children. Unfortunately, this is the safety standard of low-cost Brazilian cars.
