Bad Company are an English hard rock supergroup formed in Westminster, London, in 1973 by two former Free band members—singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke—as well as Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs and King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell.Peter Grant, who managed the rock band Led Zeppelin, also managed Bad Company until 1982.
Bad Company enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s. Their first three albums, Bad Company (1974), Straight Shooter (1975), and Run With the Pack (1976), reached the top five in the album charts in both the UK and US. Many of their singles, such as "Bad Company", "Can't Get Enough", "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", and "Feel Like Makin' Love", remain staples of classic rock radio.
There was a rumour that singer Paul Rodgers was so enamored with the Jeff Bridges film Bad Company that he chose to name his band after it, but Rodgers, in an interview with Spinner.com, explained that the idea came from a book of Victorian morals that showed a picture of an innocent kid looking up at an unsavory character leaning against a lamppost. The caption read "beware of bad company".

www.singingexplorers.com www.niopera.com In August 2015, with support from NI Opera, and in association with Glenarm Festival of voice, Anne McCambridge and Leah Collyer Greer formed a brand new children's choir, for children aged between 6 and 11 who live in County Antrim. We met every morning for five days, at St John's Primary School Carnlough, where we took part in musicianship classes, and sang together in a brand new choir. Classes were based around the Kodály method of music education which meant that the children learned to understand music by experiencing it through singing. We learned through games, rounds, which were based around melodic and rhythmic concepts and most importantly had a lot of fun in the process! During our five...

I was delighted to spot this Red Listed bird on a hedge in North Antrim today & even happier when I was able to take a few photos & video clips of its song. Being early in the nesting season, I was fully aware of the dangers of disturbing any birds at this time of year, so I can assure you that these photos & clips were all obtained from the safety of my car. The bird was never aware of my presence at any time & I left him singing quite happily on top of that hawthorn Bush. The Yellowhammer & the Lapwing, were two iconic birds of my youth & at the tender age of 8 & 9, the magic qualities of each of these species were what truly inspired me to pursue the hobby of Birdwatching for the rest of my life. At that time, every country person knew the song of the Yellowhammer, as it sounds like ~ ...

This is a synthesized orchestration of Percy Grainger's phenomenal solo piano arrangement of a familiar Irish tune. The photos in the first verse were shot on the road between Dublin and County Antrim and at the remains of Dunluce Castle, which was once the home of the McQuillan clan. The rest were shot around Dublin. My traveling companions for this 2005 journey were Susan White and Susan Bernstein.

An unusual and controversial perspective on the Ulster Scots language and culture in a one hour documentary film, directed by an Irish language activist. Deaglán Ó Mocháin's film, The Hamely Tongue -- Cultúr Ceilte (Hidden Culture) on TG4 on Wednesday 20th January at 9.30pm, argues for a more nuanced perspective on Ulster Scots than the normal broad swipes at the language that prevail in the media or on web forums. When the term 'Ulster Scots' is mentioned the default position is often humour -- that this is a Ballymena accent, 'Oor Willie' or 'the Broons' of Glasgow, and a series of made up words; or anger -- that this is a pretence, a vehicle to counter Irish, a financial scam, the language of the DUP. Ó Mocháin's film argues for a more nuanced perspective on Ulster Scots by excav...
