Kondaveeti Donga

Kondaveeti Donga is a 1990 Telugu, swashbuckler thriller film starring Chiranjeevi, Vijayashanti and Radha directed by veteran A. Kodandarami Reddy. Upon release the film received positive reviews and emerged as a blockbuster. Subsequently, the film was dubbed into Tamil as Thangamalai Thirudan. The technically brilliant film was the first Telugu film to be released on a 70 mm 6-Track Stereophonic sound. The film had collected a distributors share of ₹ 7.4 million on its opening weekend.

Plot

Raja (Chiranjeevi) goes to town for higher studies with the donation of people living in a tribal village. He returns to his village after the studies. He then finds the sufferings of his people and how they are cheated by local heads (Rao Gopal Rao and Mohanbabu). He then fills confidence in his men and tells them that they should face these illegal in the court of law. But this duo makes the villagers fools and Raja's attempts goes in vain. Few villagers get hurt by this act suicide as they have no other option and the blame is on Raja as he has forced them. Sametime Raja is selected for IAS but he rejects it and decides to fight against the villains and changes to a Robinhood avatar and names himself as Kondaveti Donga. He punishes the illegal and stands by the villagers thus all his folk starts admiring him. Trouble starts when the villains start doing mischief in the name of him. Vijayasanthi is an inspector comes to his place to catch hold of him. Radha her sister, working as a doctor knows his true identity and starts loving him. How this kondaveti donga punished the fraud people or is he caught by the police or what happens to him forms the rest of the story.

A. Kodandarami Reddy

Kodandarami Reddy is an Indian film director best known for his works in Telugu cinema. His association with Chiranjeevi created blockbusters in multiple genres such as Nyayam Kavali (1981), Khaidi (1983), Abhilasha (1983), Goonda (1984), Challenge (1984), Donga (1985), Rakshasudu (1986), Pasivadi Pranam (1987), Marana Mrudangam (1988), Athaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu (1989), Kondaveeti Donga, (1990) and Muta Mestri (1993). Kodandarami Reddy made blockbusters like Anasuyamma Gari Alludu and Nari Nari Naduma Murari with Nandamuri Balakrishna. He worked on Vicky Daada, President Gari Pellam and Allari Alludu with Nagarjuna Akkineni.

Personal life

Reddy married to Bharathi. His first son Sunil, a business man. He directed the 2007 film Godava under his home production to launch with his second son Vaibhav Reddy.

Rao Gopal Rao

Rao Gopal Rao (14 January 1937 – 13 August 1994) was an Indian film, actor and producer, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was a member of Rajya Sabha from April 1986 to April 1992.

Early life

Rao Gopal Rao was born in 1937 in Ganganapalli near Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Career

He started his career onstage, with his own company, Associated Amateur Drama Company and did many plays under the banner. S. V. Ranga Rao saw his plays and recommended him to Gutta Ramineedu, who was making Bhakta Potana (1966). He worked as an assistant director for this film. He served as an assistant director in other films, including Bangaru Sankellu and Mooga Prema.

Rao was the main villain in the film Jagat Kiladilu (1969), which starred Krishna. Rao's voice was dubbed over at the request of the film crew. Rao became better known after the release of Muthyala Muggu, directed by Bapu. Other Bapu films to feature Rao include Bhakta Kannappa (1976), Gorantadiipam (1978), Manavoori Pandavulu (1978), Kaliyuga Ravanasurudu (1980), Tyagayya (1981),Abhilasha (1983),Khaidi (1983),Challenge (1984), Jaakii (1985), and Bullet (1985). Rao produced several films, including Station Master, Lorry Driver, Bhargva Ramudu, and Vintadongalu.

Chiranjeevi (Telugu : చిరంజీవి), born as Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, 22 August 1955, is an Indian film actor, dancer, producer, singer, voice artist, politician, businessman, investor and a member of the Indian National Congress. He was the Minister of State with independent charge for the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Prior to politics, Chiranjeevi has attended the Madras Film Institute, and had worked primarily in Telugu cinema, in addition to Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films. He made his acting debut in 1978, with the film Punadhirallu. However, Pranam Khareedu was released earlier at the box office. Chiranjeevi is known for his break dancing skills. He was the guest of honor at the 59th Academy Awards. In the same year, he starred in Swayam Krushi, which premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival. In 1988, he co-produced Rudraveena, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.
