Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson, Inc. (H-D), or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer, founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1903.

As one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression (along with Indian), the company has survived numerous ownership arrangements, subsidiary arrangements (e.g., Aermacchi 1974-1978 and Buell 1987-2009), periods of poor economic health and product quality, as well as intense global competition— to become the world's fifth largest motorcycle manufacturer and an iconic brand widely known for its loyal following — with owner clubs and events worldwide as well as a company sponsored brand-focused museum.

Noted for a style of customization that gave rise to the chopper motorcycle style, Harley-Davidson traditionally marketed heavyweight, air-cooled cruiser motorcycles with engine displacements greater than 700 cc — and has broadened its offerings to include its more contemporary VRSC (2001) and middle-weight Street (2014) platforms.

Harley-Davidson (Sega/Stern pinball)

Harley-Davidson is a Sega Pinball pinball machine released in September 1999 and was the last machine released by this company. It was designed by Jon Borg and Lonnie D. Ropp.

The table went through three different production runs. The first made by Sega and continued by Stern Pinball in 1999 after they bought Sega's pinball division in the same year. The second produced by Stern Pinball in 2002, and the third with an artwork change also by Stern was released in 2004.

Description

The machine features a Harley-Davidson motorcycle theme including authentic engine sound. The game enables players to lock the ball in wheelies on the playfield. The game has an up post between the flippers that is controlled by the player by an extra flipper button on the right side of the cabinet.

There was a second edition of the table released in November 2002, which was a re-run of the first edition with no changes.

Due to the popularity of the first and second run, the company released 300 games as a third edition in April 2004. This version includes upgraded parts including chrome trim, different motorcycles on the playfield a 1999 and a 2000 Fat Boy as well as a 2001 Heritage Springer.

Harley-Davidson (Bally pinball)

Harley-Davidson is a Midway pinball machine released under the Bally label in February of 1991. It was designed by Barry Oursler and Mark Sprenger. It was the first game by Bally to use the Williams WPC (Alphanumeric) board and also the last Bally pinball game to use an Alphanumeric Display.

Rules

Completing U-S-A lanes (red, white, and blue, with single direction lane change) advances the bonus multiplier, which goes up to 6x, and is never reset on factory difficulty. Clearing the lanes at 6x lights outlane extra ball. Thereafter, completing USA gives players a USA bonus that starts at 100,000 points, and increases by 100,000 each time it is collected, without limit.

There are two sets of drop targets; one on the far left (H-A-R) and one in the center, (L-E-Y). completing HAR lights the left spinner for 3,000 points per spin, and completing LEY lights the right. Completing both scores and advances the HARLEY bonus (50,000, 100,000, 200,000, 300,000, and 500,000).
