Entry from: Buzau, Romania Entry Title: "Romania - Second (and Last) Part" Entry: "The Romanian part of our trip is now over, which means there will be more frequent entries from now on. We spent the last week in L's home town, Buzau, enjoying the exquisite foods that L's mom prepared especially for G (she thinks he lost weight lately ;-)) and talking to L's parents. We strolled through the town (see attached pictures), spent some time with L's grandmother in the countryside and visited the muddy volcanoes. If you've never heard or such a thing before, these are natural gas vents that spit mud from the deeper layers of the earth (sounds scary but it's actually not that bad), creating in time impressive mud hills that recreate very authentic moon landscapes. You don't see this very often and those close to Buzau are considered to be among the most spectacular. Then we traveled to Piatra Neamt, where we have been godparents for the youngest daughter of one of G's best friends, Teodora. We enjoyed it very much, but required 2 days of travelling back and forth and that left us quite tired. The last two days in Romania consisted of more food and, did we mentioned it, more food. Oh, and packing and saying good bye to relatives and friends. And here we are, ready to take off for Vienna and our big adventure. We are quite excited in spite of the weather forecast for Vienna (10 C/50 F, rainy, windy and cloudy) but hopefully we won't freeze to death.
