Welcome to zFacts! Fair, Not Balanced.
If one side is fanatical or just plain wrong, balance is no virtue. ZFacts takes on both extremes — left here and right here, Code Pink and the Tea Party. You won’t find that anywhere else. We focus on facts that shed light on key issues, not just media factoids.
As Bernie Loses, Will He Be Breaking Bad?
Apr 22, 2016.
Not necessarily, and I sure hope not. But ...
“I’m sure he’s very angry. ... He’s even more competitive than I am. He couldn’t stand to lose a pickup basketball game in Burlington. He doesn’t apologize. He doesn’t back down. It’s not in his nature. This is going to be a hard transition for him.” — Howard Dean (almost Bernie’s twin*)
Robert Reich is telling Bernie’s army of trolls to “Get a grip,” and “tone down negative characterizations of Hillary.”
Reich is Bernie’s most influential backer. He’s MoveOn’s big-name spokesperson (was Sec. of Labor under Clinton), and MoveOn is Bernie’s main base of support. Even Reich sees the danger. [Read more...]
Bernie: Hillary Destroyed Detroit! Not. He's Quite "Confused"
Mar 21, 2016. To win Michigan, Bernie sent out the tweet shown below. It implies that Clinton caused the ruination of Detroit, supposedly by backing NAFTA.
Besides Toyotas (not under NAFTA), Bernie also "forgot" automation, white flight from Detroit, the rise of manufacturing in the South, and Bush's great Recession. That's a lot to forget when accusing the likely Democratic candidate for president of destroying a major American city along with its working class. None of this had anything to do with Hillary. If Sanders Is Consistent, He's Not a Democrat. That Spells Trouble
Mar 12, 2016. In 1986, Sanders ran for Vermont governor against the state’s first woman governor, Madeleine Kunin. He lost badly. Had he done better, he would have caused Kunin to lose to a Republican. That would have been just fine with Bernie.
Catherine Hill, a Marxist feminist, explained his motives and tactics in her 1989 Master's thesis. Bernie's intentions are fine, but first, here's how he could turn the country over to the Republicans in 2016. [Read more...]
Who is Bernie? Find out before it's too late
Mar 4, 2016. What's his plan? A revolution? He's too smart for that. Does he care more about beating Republicans or beating the Democratic establishment? Here's the information you need to grasp the epic nature of this struggle.
Bernie won for Mayor of Burlington in 1980 and so began the Vermont "political revolution." During his tenure, the Coalition was formed that became the Vermont [Read more...]
Clinton's Speaking Fees -- No Corruption; Quite Generous
Feb 28, 2016. Over the negative din of politics, it can be hard to hear what's positive. Hillary Clinton has given $17.6 million of her speaking fees to charity (see below). That's 26 times as much as she made on her three Goldman Sachs speeches combined, or 50% more than she made on her 51 speeches in 2014 and 2015. Before presenting the details, let me summarize.
- Her fees were not the least bit unusual given her stature.
- Over 100 lesser known Americans are also in the $200,000+ category.
- The Goldman Sachs fees were below her average fee.
- She gave $17.6 [Read more...]
Millions for Sanders from Wall Street Super-PACs
Feb 26, 2016. Karl Rove's super-PAC, American Crossroads, spent $100 million trying to defeat the Democrats in 2012. “American Crossroads and Bernie Sanders helped Nevada caucus-goers see right through Hillary Clinton ... that one-two punch {Crossroads and Sanders} shaved Clinton’s 50-point lead a year ago to a slim, single-digit win.” That's according to Steven Law, Crossroads CEO. Crossroads also funded a TV ad for the Iowa primary that features Sanders' talking points insinuating that Clinton has been bought by Wall Street. How to explain this?
Sanders Keeps Silent

Clinton’s Wall Street Money? Almost all progressive! Soros Funded MoveOn — Bernie’s Base
![Soros-150](http://web.archive.org./web/20160429211930im_/http://zfacts.com/wp-content/uploads/Soros-150.jpg)
George Soros
Feb 21, 2016. Sanders' main support is MoveOn (7-million members). And progressive billionaire George Soros funded them to the tune of $1.46 million in 2004. MoveOn loved that money and no one ever hinted it corrupted them. But now Soros has switched his support to Clinton, and Sanders claims she is being corrupted by "Wall Street" money. $8 million of that is from Soros.
Soros made his money on Wall Street and Sanders says Clinton is beholden to Wall Street money—even though Soros is so progressive that Republicans consider him the devil incarnate. They hate him, like we hate the Koch brothers. [Read more...]
What was the Worst Day of the 1968 Political Revolution?
Catch-up from previous post
Feb 15, 2016. The 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago is now underway. Eugene McCarthy and Robert Kennedy (now assassinated), the peace candidates, have won a huge majority of the popular vote. President Johnson has dropped out and Vice President Humphrey and Ed Muskie are the party-establishment's choice. More than 10,000 demonstrators have shown up to protest the inevitable, and face 28,000 police, national guards and federal troops. (see previous post)
The Worst Day - for Protesters
According to CNN, "The worst day of protesting was Wednesday, Aug 28, and was dubbed the "Battle of Michigan Avenue." Protesters were stopped in their march to the convention site and the media recorded graphic violence on the part of the Chicago police. [Read more...]
Background Stories
Why the Stock Market Favors Democrats
Oct 20, 2014. Republicans claim Democrats are bad for business, but the stock market disagrees. It rose more than twice as fast under Obama as under Reagan. In fact since Reagan (1981) stocks have gained 13% under Republicans and 450% under Democrats. That's 35 times more, and they had six years less time. [Email the Fact Card] [Read more...]
Unemployment Claims, Lowest in 47 Years!
Oct 18, 2014. The Republicans left Obama with unemployment claims running higher than at any time since Reagan in 1982. Democrats (with the Republicans obstructing) reduced that to its lowest level in 14 years according to the Press. But, compared to the number of jobs, it's at its lowest level since they started collecting data in 1967. [Email the Fact Card] [Read more...]
Who are the Job Creators?
Oct 11, 2014. For at least the last 85 years, since 1929, every time the Democrats took over, jobs were created faster. And every time the Republicans took over, jobs were created slower. Ten times in a row is no accident. And the difference is huge. Why is that? [EMail the Fact Card] [Read more...]
