Making a paper piping bag
Making a paper piping bag
Being able to make small paper piping bags is a great skill to learn and will save you a lot of washing up and cleaning with dedicated piping bags. Just throw the paper away when you have finished! First you need a square of greaseproof paper approximately 15 inches square. Fold the paper in a diagonal from corner to corner. Cut along the fold to give you two large triangles of paper. Fold the triangles in half along the longest edge and again cut along the fold to give you four smaller triangles. Taking one triangle at a time, place it across the back of your hand with the longest edge across your finger tips and the top tip of the triangle pointing up your arm. With one tip of the triangle held between your thumb and first two fingers, wind the paper around the back of your hand to form a pointed cone shape. Remove your hand from the bag and fold down the top edge where the join is. Hopefully you will now have a small paper piping bag. Using a pair of scissors, cut off the tip of the paper cone to the size you require and you have a small piping bag.
