Haskayne

Haskayne is a small village in the county of Lancashire, England, and on the West Lancashire Coastal Plain. It is to the north of Downholland Cross on the A5147 and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

The village is in Downholland civil parish, and forms part of the Aughton & Downholland ward, which is represented by three Conservative Party councillors and is part of the district of West Lancashire.

Haskayne School of Business

The Haskayne School of Business is the University of Calgary's business school, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is named after Richard F. Haskayne, who gave one of the largest endowments to a business school in Canada. The school offers undergraduate, masters, and PhD degrees, as well as executive education programs. In 2009 Corporate Knights Magazine ranked the school 2nd in Canada for integrating sustainability into the school.

History

Originally founded as the Faculty of Management in 1967, the school was later renamed in honour of Richard F. Haskayne in 2002. In 1986, the faculty moved into the newly constructed Scurfield Hall, which was the result of donations made by Ralph Scurfield, his family, and Nu-West Group of Companies.

The Haskayne School of Business offers four year Bachelor of Commerce degrees in 18 concentrations, as well as degrees in Hotel and Resort Management (BHRM). BComm concentrations include Accounting, Business Process Management, Energy Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Finance, General Commerce, HR and Organizational Dynamics, International Business, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Personal Financial Planning, Petroleum and Land Management, Risk Management and Insurance, Risk Management: Insurance and Finance, Supply Chain Management, Tourism Management, and Tourism Management & Marketing.

Business school

A business school is a university-level institution that confers degrees in business administration or management. Such a school can also be known as school of management, school of business, school of business administration, or, colloquially, b-school or biz school. A business school teaches topics such as accounting, administration, strategy, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, information systems, logistics, marketing, organizational psychology, organizational behavior, public relations, research methods and real estate among others.

Ship Inn

Ship Inn is a historic inn and tavern located in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1796, and is a two-story, six bay, Georgian style stone building with brick chimneys. The main block measures 50 feet by 37 feet, with a rear kitchen wing measuring 29 feet by 20 feet. It remained in operation as an inn until 1854. In the 20th century, a restaurant opened in the building.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration (MBA or M.B.A.) is a master's degree in business administration (management). The MBA degree originated in the United States in the early 20th century when the country industrialized and companies sought scientific approaches to management. History

The first graduate school of business in the United States was the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Founded in 1900, it conferred the first advanced degree in business, specifically, a Master of Science in Commerce, the predecessor to the MBA.
