MS Voyager of the Seas is the lead ship of the Voyager-class of cruise ships operated by Royal Caribbean International (RCI). Constructed by Kværner Masa-Yards at its Turku New Shipyard in Turku, Finland, she was floated out on November 27, 1998, and christened by Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater Katarina Witt on November 20, 1999.
Upon her departure on her maiden voyage the following day, November 21, 1999, Voyager of the Seas was the largest cruise ship in the world. She measures 137,276 GT with a displacement of 58,000 t (57,000 long tons; 64,000 short tons). She is 311 m (1,020 ft) long overall, has a waterline beam (width) of 47.4 m (156 ft) and a height of 63 m (207 ft).
Voyager of the Seas featured some world firsts for cruise ships when launched. They included a horizontal atrium concept known as the Royal Promenade, the first rock climbing wall at sea (mounted on the funnel) and the first ice-skating rink at sea.
During Voyager of the Seas' first weeks at sea, there were doubts about how effective the ice rink would be due to the ice occasionally cracking in places due to the instability of the ship and hot ventilation pipes on the deck below, although these merely turned out to be teething troubles. Today the ice is used throughout the cruise as a public ice-skating venue and for professional ice shows.

Here is my video on the cruise I went on in March 2016 to South Pacific Islands and Fiji. Although Fiji was hit by Cyclone Winston and alot of damage was caused, Cyclone Winston was the strongest tropical cyclone to make landfall in Fiji and the South Pacific Basin in recorded history. Needless to say, the locals were absolutely beautiful, welcoming and always had a smile on their face for us and I can't wait to go back on another cruise to visit their beautiful country. Extravaganza: A spectacular display of Voyager of the Seas. The Royal Caribbean’s gigantic cruise ship, Voyager Of The Seas,is a technical wonder of modern times and also the largest ocean-going cruise ship in the world: a floating hotel that accommodates 5,000 passengers. The pulsating heart of the ship is the 120 metre long Royal Promenade, a replica London’s Burlington Arcade, which boasts a splendid variety of shops and on decks 11 and 12 the popular Fitness Centre is the largest on the seven seas. Particularly fascinating is the successful integration of three restaurants on three decks, an idea copied from the interior of the Paris Opera House. But the most unexpected attraction is an Ice Rink that is also used for International Ice Revues. And the enormous atrium with all of its gli...
