Loop (education)

Looping, in education, refers to the practice of a teacher remaining with the same group of students for more than one school year. For example, a teacher who teaches a third grade class and then goes on to teach the same students, the following year, for the fourth grade.

This is distinct from the teacher of a multi-age class, who teaches a specific range of school grades together. In this case, although each child remains with the same teacher for multiple years, the group of students being taught changes annually as older children leave the group and are replaced by younger students entering.

Looping is usual in Waldorf education, where the traditional goal has been for a primary teacher to remain as the lead teacher of a class for eight consecutive years, though in conjunction with numerous specialized teachers; over the last decades, many schools have been reducing the loop to a shorter interval.

Loop (film)

Loop is a 1997 British romantic comedy feature film produced by Tedi De Toledo and Michael Riley. It was written by Tim Pears and is the debut film of director Allan Niblo.

The writer of Loop, Tim Pears, also wrote the novel for In a Land of Plenty which was turned into an acclaimed 10 part TV drama serial for the BBC and produced by the London-based production company Sterling Pictures and Talkback Productions.

Plot

The main character, Rachel, is dumped by her boyfriend and exacts revenge. This film is classified as a romantic comedy.

Contemporary British and Irish Film Directors: a Wallflower Critical Guide, panned the film, calling it a formulaic romantic comedy that was "obviously" filmed on a very small budget. The review makes note of problems with cinematography, sound, script, and direction, summarizing "Loop reminds you that good films are increasingly hard to make, and with countless projects languishing in development or distribution hell, it is difficult to see how this ever made it to the production line."

Music

The twelve tracks of the original soundtrack were produced by The Ceasars and sung by the Italian rapper Amir Issaa, then published by EMI Music Publishing Italy. The official videoclip of the film, directed by Gianluca Catania, won the 2012 Roma Videoclip Award. The Ceasars and Amir were nominated for the 2012 David di Donatello Award and Nastro d'Argento (silver ribbons) for the song “Scialla” and won the 2012 “Premio Cinema Giovane” for the best original soundtrack.

Easy (Sheryl Crow song)

"Easy" is a song by American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow recorded for her ninth studio album, Feels Like Home (2013). The song, announced as the lead single, made its airplay debut on February 21, 2013 and was released on March 12. The song combines elements of rock and roll and country music and also is her first release through Warner Music Nashville.

Background and composition

In an interview, Crow described the single as her "staycation (staying home) song" and stated it was about "making your home feel like you're getting away" as opposed to vacationing in exotic places.

Critical reception

The song has received positive reviews from most critics. Jim Beviglia from American Songwriter gave the song a positive review describing Crow's performance as "inviting", but at the same time stated the song was in her "comfort zone". Billy Dukes from Taste of Country gave the track 3 and a half stars out of 5, commenting: "It’s easy to be seduced by Crow’s carefree warmth and laid-back style. It’s easy to overlook the effective songwriting, and it’s easy to fall into her story again and again." Ben Foster gave the song a "B" rating and wrote for Country Universe that "Crow’s delivery of the chorus conveys a subtle sense of excitement that quietly pulls the listener in, lending an organic feel to the track as a whole". Bobby Peacock from Roughstock.com praised the song's lyrics and wrote: "The song is a smooth listen, but executed strongly enough to be more than just ear candy.", giving the song 3 and a half stars out of 5. A less favorable review came from Bob Paxman of Country Weekly, who gave the song a "C+" and said that "Sheryl delivers it with joy and a bit of playful, sexual overtone, but there's nothing extraordinary about the song."

Push and Shove

Push and Shove is the sixth studio album by American rock band No Doubt. It was released on September 21, 2012 by Interscope Records. The album serves as a comeback album for the band as their last album, Rock Steady, was released over ten years previously. A deluxe edition of Push and Shove features acoustic versions and remixes of several tracks and "Stand and Deliver", a song No Doubt had covered in 2009.

The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 having sold 115,000 copies during its first week. "Settle Down", the first single from the album, was released in July 2012 and received mild success, debuting and peaking at number thirty-four on the Billboard Hot 100. The album's title track features producers Major Lazer and Jamaican reggae artist Busy Signal, and was released as a promotional single the following month. "Looking Hot" was released as the second single from the album.

Background and development

No Doubt released their fifth studio album, Rock Steady, in December 2001. The album sold three million copies and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. In April 2003, No Doubt went into hiatus to take a break to spend time with their families before starting to compile Everything in Time; The Singles 1992–2003, a greatest hits album featuring songs from their previous studio albums; and Boom Box, a box set compiling The Singles 1992–2003, Everything in Time, The Videos 1992–2003 and Live in the Tragic Kingdom, which would all be released on the same date. The main reason to go into hiatus was that in early 2003, lead singer Gwen Stefani started work on her 1980s-inspired new wave/dance-pop music side project, under which she released two solo albums: Love. Angel. Music. Baby. on November 22, 2004 and The Sweet Escape on December 4, 2006.

Anatomical terms of motion

Motion, the process of movement, is described using specific anatomical terms. Motion includes movement of organs, joints, limbs, and specific sections of the body. The terminology used describes this motion according to its direction relative to the anatomical position of the joints. Anatomists use a unified set of terms to describe most of the movements, although other, more specialized terms are necessary for describing the uniqueness of the movements such as those of the hands, feet, and eyes.

In general, motion is classified according to the anatomical plane it occurs in. Flexion and extension are examples of angular motions, in which two axes of a joint are brought closer together or moved further apart. Rotational motion may occur at other joints, for example the shoulder, and are described as internal or external. Other terms, such as elevation and depression, refer to movement above or below the horizontal plane. Many anatomical terms derive from Latin terms with the same meaning.
