Plot: An NRI faces threats from extortionists when he opens a small business and goes out with an aspiring model. He refuses to pay, both are stalked, and when he complains to the police, they not only shrug it off but offer 'protection' for a price. With increasing pressure, he must now make a decision to re-locate or submit to their demands. Tilak and his friends are career criminals, and sell merchandise that they steal from passengers using public transportation. He also buys best-selling novels, has copies printed, and has them sold at busy traffic signals. Things change when his group find guns and an explosive device in a stolen bag. Sawan Murthy wants to be a cricketer and must come up with Rs.10 Lakhs in order to be inducted in the 20/20 team. He has no money, nobody will lend him any, and he considers robbing the Citizen's Co-operative Bank. Just some of the challenges faced by regular Mumbaites and criminals in this crime-laden city.

Plot: 'Girlfriend' is a story about two intimate friends Tanya (Isha Koppikar) and Sapna (Amrita Arora) who have always been together since they were in college. Now they live together and each one of them is fond of the other, to that extent that if one does something, the other follows. Sapna meets Rahul (Aashish Choudhary) when Tanya is out of town for some work. Sapna finds herself in a relationship with Rahul and by the time Tanya is back, Sapna has already fallen for Rahul and starts loving him. When Tanya learns of this relationship, she is jealous and reacts very adversely and in her jealousy and possessiveness comes out when she meets Rahul. Now Tanya goes all out to break Sapna's relationship with Rahul and her hidden agenda and desires come to light in the later part of the film.

Plot: Alcoholic, arrogant, and a slacker, Atmaram, though coming from a poor family, has visions of grandeur, and believes that everyone else is subordinate to his wishes and instructions. Unable to support his family, namely his wife, Laxmi, and two grown sons, Ravi and Vijay, he starts living at home, dependent on his sons' incomes. Then fate delivers a cruel blow to Atmaram, leaving him alone and desolate. He decides to atone for his mistakes, but will he able to convince others of his good intentions, who are weary of him, and fear that this may be another ploy on his part to fool them again.

Plot: Chided by his family for being the absolute miser, wealthy industrialist Dhaniram (Kader Khan) loves his money as a mother loves a child. Dhaniram gets in the bad books of Income Tax Officer, D.O. Gogi (Shakti Kapoor), and as a result Gogi is arrested and imprisoned. His sister, Dolly (Roshini) and brother, Gulu (Gulshan Grover) both scheme a devious plot that will ensure the death of Dhaniram, and the control of his wealth will rest with them and Gogi.

Kusum re-locates to Bombay but finds that Vimal respects like a mother and refuses any intimacy. After their respective fathers pass away, she finds out that he, now a qualified lawyer, is in love with Sapna, and must find suitable provisions in the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 to try and get an expedited divorce in a country that is vehemently opposed to granting divorces, as well as facing stigmatization from the community and opposition from her very own mother who will not permit her to obtain a divorce at any cost.

Plot: Hindi-speaking collegian Sapna lives a wealthy lifestyle in Dona Paula, near Panaji, Goa, India, along with her Professor dad, Kundanlal, and mom. Their immediate neighbors are Tamil-speaking vegetarian tenants, V. Sivaramakrishan, his wife, Vandana and son, Vasudevan, and detest the Kundanlals' meat-eating habits. Both families are aghast with surprise and anger when they find out that Sapna and Vasudevan are in love with each other. Strong opposition only strengthens their romance, forcing the families to compel the couple to stay away for a year, and not to communicate to each other in any manner. Both agree, and Vasudevan leaves for Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, to work for G. Haribabu, a Chartered Accountant. Vasudevan befriends a widow, Sandhya, and learns how to dance as well as read and write Hindi, while his dad arranges his marriage with Tamil-speaking Tulsi. While on a trip to Mangalore he finds out that Sapna has got married to Chakravarty, and instantly decides to propose to Sandhya, who agrees to marry him. Does this signal the end of their romance? The family decide to keep him under lock and key on the terrace of their house. Unable to admit Vijaykamal to a mental asylum, Suraj brings home a young courtesan, Chand, who he hopes will cure Vijaykamal, and she does succeed considerably, but is traumatized, sexually assaulted by Vijaykamal, and abused by the rest of the family. Mohan finds her very attractive and wants her for himself, so does Bihari. A pregnant Chand is again traumatized when Vijaykamal recovers, but is unable to recognize her. The rest of the family do not believe that the child she is carrying is Vijaykamal's, and want her to leave. The question remains, what can this woman, who has been used as a toy, do under these circumstances?
