RAF Yatesbury
First opened as an aerodrome in World War I, RAF Yatesbury continued operations in the interwar years before again taking on a major role in World War II. From 1936 onwards RAF Yatesbury and RAF Compton Bassett were major Radio and Radar Training Schools, RAF Townsend a satellite landing ground and RAF Cherhill was part No 27 Group, in Headquarters Technical Training Command. It was the oldest airfield in the whole of Europe and is the only airfield in the world that is still is such good condition. In the village church there are reminders of its military past, with a small number of war graves from both major conflicts.
After closure, the Radar and Wireless training school transferred to RAF Locking. The aircraft hangars and airfield, although now farmland, can still be seen from the A4. The buildings, site and surrounding area were featured in the video to the 1988 No.1 hit song "Doctorin' the Tardis" by The Timelords.

Yatesbury
Yatesbury is a village in Wiltshire, England. It is next to Cherhill, 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the A4 road between Calne and Marlborough.
Church
The Church of England parish church of All Saints has 12th-century origins and is Grade I listed. The church has a canonical sundial on the south wall. The parish is part of the Oldbury Benefice, which comprises the five parishes of Calstone Wellington, Cherhill, Compton Bassett, Heddington and Yatesbury.

Madras war cemetery was established by the commonwealth war graves commission who fought under the British during World War II. Established in 1952 by the Imperial War Graves Commission, Madras War Cemetery was built to honour the lives of all those men and women who sacrificed their lives in World War II. It is home to almost 856 Common wealth burials of the Second World War. People from many different nationalities like UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, West Africa and India are buried here. Located on the Mount Poonamalle road, the cemetery is just 5 kilometres from the airport and a kilometre away from Saint Thomas Mount. In December I’m going to be joining Glenn Reynolds, Dana Loesch, Ed Morrissey, Kevin Williamson, Roger L. Simon, Stephen Green, and Mark Rippetoe for a spectacular Second Amendment program called Bullets & Bourbon ( http://www.bullets-and-bourbon.com ). The event will be held at Rough Creek Lodge ( http://www.roughcreek.com/ )which is a fantastic venue in Glen Rose, Texas (about an hour and a half south of Dallas). In May, my wife and I visited Rough Creek Lodge equipped with a a DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus drone we rented from EyeInTheSkyRentals.com to produce the above clip. We only used about 30 to 45 seconds of drone footage in this clip as we also wanted to highlight Rough Creek Lodge's spectacular dining room and first class target shooting and hunting facilities. Some of my Houston Texas WW1 training camp related items on loan at The Heritage Society Museum Gallery in Houston. The Camp Logan exhibit is from Aug. 13th - Nov. 15th, 2014, and includes post cards, photos, quartermaster Logbook, Songbook, Thanksgiving Day Menu, maps, letters, artifacts and other items from the camp. Madras war cemetery was established by the commonwealth war graves commission who fought under the British during World War II.
Established in 1952 by the Imperial War Graves Commission, Madras War Cemetery was built to honour the lives of all those men and women who sacrificed their lives in World War II. It is home to almost 856 Common wealth burials of the Second World War.
People from many different nationalities like UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, West Africa and India are buried here. Located on the Mount Poonamalle road, the cemetery is just 5 kilometres from the airport and a kilometre away from Saint Thomas Mount. Though a restricted area, those who prefer silence or are history buffs would love to pay a visit to this place.

In December I’m going to be joining Glenn Reynolds, Dana Loesch, Ed Morrissey, Kevin Williamson, Roger L. Simon, Stephen Green, and Mark Rippetoe for a spectacular Second Amendment program called Bullets & Bourbon ( http://www.bullets-and-bourbon.com ).
The event will be held at Rough Creek Lodge ( http://www.roughcreek.com/ )which is a fantastic venue in Glen Rose, Texas (about an hour and a half south of Dallas).
In May, my wife and I visited Rough Creek Lodge equipped with a a DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus drone we rented from EyeInTheSkyRentals.com to produce the above clip. We only used about 30 to 45 seconds of drone footage in this clip as we also wanted to highlight Rough Creek Lodge's spectacular dining room and first class target shooting and hunting facilities.
