That giant lahontan cutthroat was submitted for an All Tackle Length World Record (Catch & Release) and would have counted but I was using two nymphs. It was nearly 34+" long and undoubtedly over 20 lbs. Tight lines!

Pyramid Lake (Alberta)
Pyramid Lake is kidney-shaped lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It lies at the foot of Pyramid Mountain, a natural landmark that overlooks the town of Jasper. It has a total area of 1.2 km2 (0.46 sq mi) and discharges in Athabasca River through the 2 km (1.2 mi) long Pyramid Creek.
Several picnic sites are established on the shores of the lake, as well as boat ramps. Hotel accommodations are also available on the lake. Pyramid Lake is connected by hiking trails to the town of Jasper, and other touristic sites such as Pyramid Mountain, Patricia Lake and Cabin Lake.

My friend Taylor managed to convince me to head to Jasper, Alberta Canada on only two hours of sleep. It was totally worth it! Our first stop was Pyramid Lake. My wife and I travel to Jasper National Park for a 3 day long vacation. When we arrived it was cold and a bit windy, then the wind died down and we managed to get some incredible photos with the reflections in the water. Super fun travelling with someone who does amazing photography!

On the first drive, I was so worried about getting stuck in the fresh snow, that I made a U-turn and returned to Jasper. On the second trip, I successfully parked at the trailhead without getting stuck. The third drive begins east of Jasper, and follows Highway 16 westbound, into town, and up to Pyramid Lake.

We stay in Hinton, and travel to the town of Jasper and its surrounding area to do many activities such as kayaking, the Jasper Skytram, the Glacier Adventure, the Jasper Museum, Athabasca Falls, and explore a variety of different lakes such as Patricia Lake and Pyramid Lake!
