Emmy Award

An Emmy Award, or simply Emmy, recognizes excellence in the television industry, and corresponds to the Academy Award (for film), the Tony Award (for theatre), and the Grammy Award (for music).

Because Emmy Awards are given in various sectors of the American television industry, they are presented in different annual ceremonies held throughout the year. The two events that receive the most media coverage are the Primetime Emmys and the Daytime Emmys, which recognize outstanding work in American primetime and daytime entertainment programming, respectively. Other notable Emmy Award ceremonies are those honoring national sports programming, national news and documentary shows, national business and financial reporting, and technological and engineering achievements in television, including the Primetime Engineering Emmy Awards. Regional Emmy Awards are also presented throughout the country at various times through the year, recognizing excellence in local and statewide television. In addition, International Emmys are awarded for excellence in TV programming produced and initially aired outside the United States.

Engin Akyürek

Engin Akyürek (born 12 October 1981 in Ankara) is a Turkish actor, who has acted in films and television series.

Early life and education

Engin Akyürek was born on October 12, 1981 in Ankara, Turkey. His father is a government official and his mother is a homemaker. He has a younger brother. Akyurek graduated from Ankara University in 2002, where he studied in the history department.

Film and television

International

International mostly means something (a company, language, or organization) involving more than a single country. The term international as a word means involvement of, interaction between or encompassing more than one nation, or generally beyond national boundaries. For example, international law, which is applied by more than one country and usually everywhere on Earth, and international language which is a language spoken by residents of more than one country.

Origin of the word

The term international was coined by the utilitarian philosopher Jeremy Bentham in his Introduction to Principles of Morals and Legislation, which was printed for publication in 1780 and published in 1789. Bentham wrote: "The word international, it must be acknowledged, is a new one; though, it is hoped, sufficiently analogous and intelligible. It is calculated to express, in a more significant way, the branch of law which goes commonly under the name of the law of nations. The word was adopted in French in 1801.Thomas Erskine Holland noted in his article on Bentham in the 11th edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica that "Many of Bentham's phrases, such as 'international,' 'utilitarian,' 'codification,' are valuable additions to our language; but the majority of them, especially those of Greek derivation, have taken no root in it."

Bassem Youssef

Bassem Raafat Muhammad Youssef (Arabic: باسم رأفت محمد يوسف‎, IPA: [ˈbæːsem ˈɾɑʔfɑt mæˈħæmmæd ˈjuːsef]; born 22 March 1974) is an Egyptian satirist and columnist and former cardiac surgeon, who hosted Al-Bernameg (The Program), a satirical news program from 2011 to 2014. The press has compared Youssef with American comedian Jon Stewart, whose satire program The Daily Show inspired Youssef to begin his career. In 2013, he was named one of the "100 most influential people in the world" by Time magazine.

Early life

Bassem Youssef graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine, majoring in cardiothoracic surgery, in 1998. He passed the United States Medical License Exam (USMLE) and has been a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) since February 2007. He also received training in cardiac and lung transplantation in Germany, after which he spent a year and a half in the US working for a company that produces medical equipment related to cardiothoracic surgery. In January 2011, Youssef assisted the wounded in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian Revolution.

Martin Ericsson

Martin Ericsson (born 4 September 1980) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for BK Häcken. He has played nine matches for the Sweden national football team.

Career

Born in Gustafs, he played for Swedish club Tunabro SK, before turning professional with IK Brage and IFK Göteborg. He debuted for the Swedish national team in the 0–3 loss to Norway on 22 January 2004. In the summer of 2004, he moved to Denmark to play for Aalborg BK in the Danish Superliga. He was the natural playmaker of the team, and quickly became the star of the Aalborg club. In the 2005 winter transfer window, he moved to defending Danish champions Brøndby IF, where he received the prestigious number 10 shirt number. Ericsson scored in his Superliga debut match for Brøndby, a 3–0 win against arch rivals Copenhagen. On 3 December 2009, he signed with IF Elfsborg.
