Brian D'Arcy C.P (born 1945) is a Passionist priest based in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. A noted author, newspaper columnist, broadcaster and preacher, he serves as Rector of St. Gabriel's Retreat, the Graan. D'Arcy has authored over ten books including A Little Bit of Religion and A Little Bit of Healing.
D'Arcy grew up in the village of Bellanaleck in County Fermanagh. His father Hugh worked at Enniskillen railway station and had been a notable Gaelic Athletic Association footballer in his youth. His primary education was in a local school while his secondary education was in the Christian Brothers Grammar School, Omagh. Having successfully sat the Eleven Plus exam, he entered St. Michael's College, Enniskillen. He later studied scholastic philosophy at UCD.
In September 1962, at the age of 17, D'Arcy became a novice at the Passionist monastery in Enniskillen. A year later he was transferred to Mount Argus in Dublin. He was ordained a priest in December 1969.
Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) is a male given name of Irish and Breton origin, as well as a surname of Occitan origin. It is common in the English-speaking world. It is possible that the name is derived from an Old Celtic word meaning "high" or "noble". For example, the element bre means "hill"; which could be transferred to mean "eminence" or "exalted one". The name is quite popular in Ireland, on account of Brian Boru, a 10th-century king of Ireland. The name was also quite popular in East Anglia during the Middle Ages. This is because the name was introduced to England by Bretons following the Norman Conquest. Bretons also settled in Ireland along with the Normans in the 12th century, and 'their' name was mingled with the 'Irish' version. Also, in the north-west of England, the 'Irish' name was introduced by Scandinavian settlers from Ireland. Within the Gaelic speaking areas of Scotland, the name was at first only used by professional families of Irish origin. It was the fourth most popular male name in England and Wales in 1934, but a sharp decline followed over the remainder of the 20th century and by 1994 it had fallen out of the top 100. It retained its popularity in the United States for longer; its most popular period there was from 1968–1979 when it consistently ranked between eighth and tenth.

Shrek | Pre-Broadway | Seattle | August 14, 2008 Brian D'arcy James, Sutton Foster, Christopher Sieber, Chester Gregory, John Tartaglia, Kecia Lewis-Evans, Haven Burton. First Performance of the Pre-Broadway run. A rare capture due to the fact the show ran 2 hours and 34 minutes, cuts are nearly inevitable. Includes three already cut songs, "I Could Get Used to This", "The Line-Up Reprise #2", and "Gonna Build a Wall", so I'm told. Beautiful capture with no obstructions. A very fun show, a top notch cast and memorable songs. A+ Full Show Up For Trade at: http://charlieboytrading.weebly.com
