Just two years separate Grieg's first violin sonata from his second, the Sonata for violin and piano No. 2 in G major, Op. 13 (1867). But these were eventful years for the young composer, during which he married, fully took up the cause of Norwegian nationalist music, and began to make his name known around Europe. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that for all the apparent similarities between these two sonatas, they are really very unlike one another. It is not so much that Grieg's interest in identifiably Norwegian music is apparent in the Sonata No. 2, as that the influence of Robert Schumann -- evident throughout the Sonata No. 1 -- is so much less evident, a change which allows Grieg's own unique and colorful character to shine through with greater power. It perhaps also means that the structure of the piece becomes somewhat less concise and coherent; Grieg, by his own admission, struggled greatly with chamber music and its forms.
Like its sister piece of 1865, the Sonata for violin and piano No. 2 in G major, Op. 13 is in three movements, of which the first is the longest. It opens with a Lento doloroso introduction in the minor mode, in which the main theme of the upcoming, major-mode Allegro vivace body of the movement is tentatively voiced by the violin in a kind of quasi-cadenza. The second movement is an elegant and delicate Allegretto tranquillo, in which the piano from time to time imitates the strummed chords of a guitar or lute. Grieg crafts something of a light, peasant dance for the Allegro animato finale.

Hello,
History will show you that people need bias! Biases are the stories we make up about people before we know who they actually are. But how are we going to know who they are when we've been told to avoid and be afraid of them.
A bias is the way we systematically get things wrong, to see what we want to see! Some of us believe that you only stop being biased, when you die!
I'm trying to understand, why everything blew up in Nauvoo, and Carthage, Illinois, in June, 1844, and the reasons for the death of Joseph Smith Jr?
Facts are the enemy of truth, because anyone can distort facts to support their version of truth! But somewhere in there, there are true things, and facts can be compiled in such a way to support a bias truth. It's important people have their own views based on an understanding of facts. It's also important not to trust the facts, because most of them are lies!
So how do we understand the truth? It basically comes down to a gut thing! You just have to be open, to allowing for a truth, which differs from your own opinions, or else you'll never see the truth at all.

Joseph
"Joseph" is a masculine given name originating from Hebrew, recorded in the Hebrew Bible, as יוֹסֵף, Standard Hebrew Yossef, Tiberian Hebrew and Aramaic Yôsēp̄. In Arabic, including in the Qur'an, the name is spelled يوسف or Yūsuf. The name can be translated from Hebrew יהוה להוסיף YHWH Lhosif as signifying "JEHOVAH will increase/add".
In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first (Yossef ben-Yaakov in the Jewish Bible). In the New Testament, Joseph is the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the New Testament there is another Joseph as well, Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple of Jesus who supplied the tomb in which Jesus was buried.
The form "Joseph" is used mostly in English, French and German-speaking countries. The name has enjoyed significant popularity in its many forms in numerous countries, and Joseph was one of the two names, along with Robert, to have remained in the top 10 boys' names list in the US from 1925 to 1972. Edvard Grieg
Edvard Hagerup Grieg (Norwegian: [ ˈɛdʋɑɖ ˈhɑːɡərʉp ˈɡrɪɡ]; 15 June 1843 – 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. His use and development of Norwegian folk music in his own compositions put the music of Norway in the international spectrum, as well as helping to develop a national identity, much as Jean Sibelius and Antonín Dvořák did in Finland and Bohemia, respectively. Grieg is regarded as simultaneously nationalistic and cosmopolitan in his orientation, for although born in Bergen and buried there, he traveled widely throughout Europe, and considered his music to express both the beauty of Norwegian rural life and the culture of Europe as a whole. He is the most celebrated person from the city of Bergen, with numerous statues depicting his image, and many cultural entities named after him: the city's largest building (Grieg Hall), its most advanced music school (Grieg Academy), its professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor), and even some private companies that include its largest hotel (Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg), and a music technology developer (Grieg Music). It perhaps also means that the structure of the piece becomes somewhat less concise and coherent; Grieg, by his own admission, struggled greatly with chamber music and its forms.
Like its sister piece of 1865, the Sonata for violin and piano No. 2 in G major, Op. 13 is in three movements, of which the first is the longest. It opens with a Lento doloroso introduction in the minor mode, in which the main theme of the upcoming, major-mode Allegro vivace body of the movement is tentatively voiced by the violin in a kind of quasi-cadenza. The second movement is an elegant and delicate Allegretto tranquillo, in which the piano from time to time imitates the strummed chords of a guitar or lute. Grieg crafts something of a light, peasant dance for the Allegro animato finale.

Hello,
History will show you that people need bias! Biases are the stories we make up about people before we know who they actually are. But how are we going to know who they are when we've been told to avoid and be afraid of them.
A bias is the way we systematically get things wrong, to see what we want to see! Some of us believe that you only stop being biased, when you die!
I'm trying to understand, why everything blew up in Nauvoo, and Carthage, Illinois, in June, 1844, and the reasons for the death of Joseph Smith Jr?
Facts are the enemy of truth, because anyone can distort facts to support their version of truth! But somewhere in there, there are true things, and facts can be compiled in such a way to support a bias truth. It's important people have their own views based on an understanding of facts. It's also important not to trust the facts, because most of them are lies!
So how do we understand the truth? It basically comes down to a gut thing! You just have to be open, to allowing for a truth, which differs from your own opinions, or else you'll never see the truth at all.

It perhaps also means that the structure of the piece becomes somewhat less concise and coherent; Grieg, by his own admission, struggled greatly with chamber music and its forms.
Like its sister piece of 1865, the Sonata for violin and piano No. 2 in G major, Op. 13 is in three movements, of which the first is the longest. It opens with a Lento doloroso introduction in the minor mode, in which the main theme of the upcoming, major-mode Allegro vivace body of the movement is tentatively voiced by the violin in a kind of quasi-cadenza. The second movement is an elegant and delicate Allegretto tranquillo, in which the piano from time to time imitates the strummed chords of a guitar or lute. Grieg crafts something of a light, peasant dance for the Allegro animato finale.

Hello,
History will show you that people need bias! Biases are the stories we make up about people before we know who they actually are. But how are we going to know who they are when we've been told to avoid and be afraid of them.
A bias is the way we systematically get things wrong, to see what we want to see! Some of us believe that you only stop being biased, when you die!
I'm trying to understand, why everything blew up in Nauvoo, and Carthage, Illinois, in June, 1844, and the reasons for the death of Joseph Smith Jr?
Facts are the enemy of truth, because anyone can distort facts to support their version of truth! But somewhere in there, there are true things, and facts can be compiled in such a way to support a bias truth. It's important people have their own views based on an understanding of facts. It's also important not to trust the facts, because most of them are lies!
So how do we understand the truth? It basically comes down to a gut thing! You just have to be open, to allowing for a truth, which differs from your own opinions, or else you'll never see the truth at all.
