Star Trek - Horizon is a feature-length fan film made by a single filmmaker as a personal passion project and love letter to Enterprise, the fifth Star Trek series. Pre-production began in December of 2012 and this 3-year-long odyssey concluded on February 25th, 2016. It's been a long road, getting from there to here.
The Coalition of Planets, a young alliance of worlds led by Earth, is at war with the Romulan Empire. Desperate for a chance to gain the upper hand in the war, the Coalition forms an alliance with T'mar, a Romulan deserter, in the hopes that she can provide valuable intelligence on her former masters.

Trek Bicycle (trekbikes.com) teamed up with Helen's Cycles (helenscycles.com) in Santa Monica to put on a demo ride for road and mountain bikers on Feb 9th, 2014.
I joined a shop-led mountain bike ride and rode a 2014 Trek Remedy 9.8 27.5/650B: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/technical_trail/remedy/remedy_9_8_27/#
The group ride started right next to the fire station on Mulholland Dr between Elvido Dr and Park Lane Cr. We climbed Mulholland Dr to the old Nike missile radar station at San Vicente. We then headed about 1.7 miles down W Mandeville Fire Rd, using some of the fire road and some of the singletrack along each side before heading back the same way. The total ride was 7.2 miles, 1,080 ft elevation gain, 1:20 total time.
This video is shot on a GoPro Hero3+ Black mounted to a generic chest harness.

Trek is a long, adventurous journey undertaken on foot in areas where common means of transport are generally not available. Trekking should not be confused with mountaineering.
The term derived from the Afrikaans word trek (noun), trekken (verb), (literally meaning to "pull, travel"), became a word in English language in mid 19th century, and means a long arduous journey, typically on foot.
The Himalayan routes are famous for attracting a large number of trekkers. Typical trekking regions in Nepal are Annapurna, Dolpo, Langtang, Manaslu, and Mount Everest. Christopher Whitelaw "Chris" Pine (born August 26, 1980) is an American actor. Best known for his role as James T. Kirk in the 2009 film Star Trek, he has also appeared in films such as The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), Just My Luck (2006), Smokin' Aces (2007), Unstoppable (2010), and This Means War (2012).
Pine was born in Los Angeles, California. His father, Robert Pine, is an actor who appeared in CHiPs as Sergeant Joseph Getraer, and his mother, Gwynne Gilford, is a former actress who is now a practicing psychotherapist. He has an older sister, Katie. His maternal grandmother, Anne Gwynne (née Marguerite Gwynne Trice), was a Hollywood actress, and his maternal grandfather, Max M. Gilford (born Max Goldfarb), was an attorney who was elected president of the Hollywood Bar Association. Pine's ancestry includes Jewish (from his maternal grandfather), Welsh, and English. He has stated, "I definitely have a spiritual outlook... I am not a religious guy, I am probably agnostic".

Zachary John Quinto (born June 2, 1977) is an American actor and producer. Quinto grew up in Pennsylvania and was active in high school musical theater. In the early 2000s, he guest starred in television series and appeared in a recurring role in the serial drama 24 from 2003 to 2004. In 2006, Quinto acted in the sitcom So NoTORIous and portrayed series antagonist Sylar in the science fiction drama Heroes from 2006 to 2010. He was cast as Spock of the Star Trek franchise and appeared in the 2009 reboot Star Trek. He will continue the role in the 2013 sequel. He also voiced the Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH) in the Star Trek Online MMORPG
Quinto, who is of half-Italian and half-Irish descent, was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Green Tree, Pennsylvania, with his mother Margo and his brother Joe. His father, John, who was a barber, died of cancer when Quinto was 7 years old. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1995, where he participated in their musicals and won the Gene Kelly Award for Best Supporting Actor, and then attended Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, from which he graduated in 1999.

I joined a shop-led mountain bike ride and rode a 2014 Trek Remedy 9.8 27.5/650B: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/technical_trail/remedy/remedy_9_8_27/# The group ride started right next to the fire station on Mulholland Dr between Elvido Dr and Park Lane Cr. We climbed Mulholland Dr to the old Nike missile radar station at San Vicente. We then headed about 1.7 miles down W Mandeville Fire Rd, using some of the fire road and some of the singletrack along each side before heading back the same way. The total ride was 7.2 miles, 1,080 ft elevation gain, 1:20 total time. This video is shot on a GoPro Hero3+ Black mounted to a generic chest harness. @helenscycles @TrekBikes -

Star Trek - Horizon is a feature-length fan film made by a single filmmaker as a personal passion project and love letter to Enterprise, the fifth Star Trek series. Pre-production began in December of 2012 and this 3-year-long odyssey concluded on February 25th, 2016. It's been a long road, getting from there to here. Trek Bicycle (trekbikes.com) teamed up with Helen's Cycles (helenscycles.com) in Santa Monica to put on a demo ride for road and mountain bikers on Feb 9th, 2014. I joined a shop-led mountain bike ride and rode a 2014 Trek Remedy 9.8 27.5/650B: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/technical_trail/remedy/remedy_9_8_27/# The group ride started right next to the fire station on Mulholland Dr between Elvido Dr and Park Lane Cr. We climbed Mulholland Dr to the old Nike missile radar station at San Vicente. We then headed about 1.7 miles down W Mandeville Fire Rd, using some of the fire road and some of the singletrack along each side before heading back the same way. Trek Bicycle (trekbikes.com) teamed up with Helen's Cycles (helenscycles.com) in Santa Monica to put on a demo ride for road and mountain bikers on Feb 9th, 2014.
I joined a shop-led mountain bike ride and rode a 2014 Trek Remedy 9.8 27.5/650B: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/technical_trail/remedy/remedy_9_8_27/#
The group ride started right next to the fire station on Mulholland Dr between Elvido Dr and Park Lane Cr. We climbed Mulholland Dr to the old Nike missile radar station at San Vicente. We then headed about 1.7 miles down W Mandeville Fire Rd, using some of the fire road and some of the singletrack along each side before heading back the same way. The total ride was 7.2 miles, 1,080 ft elevation gain, 1:20 total time.
This video is shot on a GoPro Hero3+ Black mounted to a generic chest harness.

The Story:

The custom paint scheme on Fabian Cancellara's Trek Speed Concept time-trial bike integrates a nod to his Swiss heritage (and nine national TT titles) as well as to his nickname, Spartacus. The race machine utlizes aero wheels from Trek's Bontrager brand — a rear disc, and a front Aeolus 9; both are outfitted with VeloFlex tires. The drivetrain consists of Shimano Di2 electronic; something different to Cancellara's road bike, which he explains in this video. For maximum power, Cancellara pushes a Shimano Dura-Ace 56-44 chainring set up. Braking is a mix of Dura-Ace levers and Bontrager integrated front and rear brakes, with the rear brakes located under the bottom bracket. All in all, it's a bike made for just one thing — going as fast as possible. Or, as Cancellara tell us, "It's a badass bike."

Despite the original series only running for a few seasons, it spawned numerous spinoffs and films, and created the kind of cult following that basically defined one part of nerd culture. It shouldn’t be much of a secret that, among those nerds, there are going to be some pretty big names. After all, we’re talking about a show that counted Martin Luther King, Jr. as one of its biggest, earliest fans.
