Hi! This week I want to share with you how I fixed my wonky window blind! I have had this problem before and no matter if the blind is cheap expensive or in between, it seems to happen soon or later! One day when we went to pick up our daughters instrument from the music store, it occurred to me that the answer was there! Rosin!
Yes, that's right rosin, like they use to "rosin up the bow" for a violin or fiddle. This would give me the friction I needed to keep the blind straight and keep it tacky enough that it would not be slippery through the pulley.
So check how I did it. This was a quick and cheap fix to a frustrating problem that I am sure many of you have encountered.

Sam shows you how to fit and install a horizontal blind.
Find out how to fit a Shuttermatch wooden window blind into a standard recessed window inside mount style to improve your home.
Learn how to fit blinds inside mount into the recess.
The window is UPVC so the wooden blinds need to be spaced away from the window handle so the slats are free to move up and down.
You can see what's in the box, learn how to fit the brackets to the inside of the window recess and how the blinds are operated with step by step instructions.
These shuttermatch blinds are made from real wood like Basswood, and provide a really tight slat closure and minimise the light coming through the blind as the slats do not have any visible holes in when they are closed which provides a really neat look.
Installing faux blinds will be done in the same way as installing these real wooden blinds. They can be fitted inside the recess (Inside mount) or outside the recess (outside mount). It is possible to install the brackets to the ceiling if required.
Mark the position of the box brackets in the recess, these can be fitted sideways upwards or straight into the window frame. The headrail of the blind simply slots into these box brackets. A top pelmet is then fitted onto the headrail to cover it up.

A window blind is a type of window covering. There are many different kinds of window blinds, using different systems and materials. A typical window blind is made with slats of fabric, wood, plastic or metal that adjust by rotating from an open position to a closed position by allowing slats to overlap. There are also window blinds that use a single piece of material instead of slats.
A window blind is also known as a window shade.
The term window blinds is also sometimes used to describe window coverings generically—in this context window blinds include almost every type of window covering, i.e. shutters, roller blinds, honeycomb shades, wood blinds, roman blinds and of course, standard vertical and horizontal blinds. In the United Kingdom awnings are also considered blinds.

A roller blind does not have slats but comprises a single piece of material. Metal window blinds are often used outside of the house or business to protect against theft, temperature, vision, bad weather, and fire (in fire-prone areas). Sam shows you how to fit and install a horizontal blind.
Find out how to fit a Shuttermatch wooden window blind into a standard recessed window inside mount style to improve your home.
Learn how to fit blinds inside mount into the recess.
The window is UPVC so the wooden blinds need to be spaced away from the window handle so the slats are free to move up and down.
You can see what's in the box, learn how to fit the brackets to the inside of the window recess and how the blinds are operated with step by step instructions.
These shuttermatch blinds are made from real wood like Basswood, and provide a really tight slat closure and minimise the light coming through the blind as the slats do not have any visible holes in when they are closed which provides a really neat look.
Installing faux blinds will be done in the same way as installing these real wooden blinds. They can be fitted inside the recess (Inside mount) or outside the recess (outside mount). It is possible to install the brackets to the ceiling if required.
Mark the position of the box brackets in the recess, these can be fitted sideways upwards or straight into the window frame. The headrail of the blind simply slots into these box brackets. A top pelmet is then fitted onto the headrail to cover it up.
