"NDP 2012 Theme Song - Love At First Light". This is the official NDP 2012 Theme Song - "Love At First Light". The song is performed by Olivia Ong and Natanya Tan. It was composed and arranged by Iskandar Ismail with lyrics by Paul Tan. The MTV was directed by Aaron Tan Mien Shawn. Mr Iskandar has been instrumental in the show's musical direction and has been involved in previous National Day Parades. But for him, he says, this year is a whole new experience. "During the previous NDPs, we had a lot of theatre directors, so the approach was different. This time, our director, Mr Fan Dong Kai, comes from a mass display (background), so everything is larger-than-life," Mr Iskandar explained. "The music has to complement the display items and also the multimedia, and this year's multimedia is one of the best multimedia themes that we managed to put together, to bring out the message even more." He also said it was a challenge to work with people who had different vocal ranges. "A child's range and a lady vocalist's range is very different, so I had to make some adjustments to the tune. What you hear is the fourth or fifth revision of the melody lines," he said. He said using young voices was symbolic of Singapore's youth, who are the future of the country. "(I hope) it tells youngsters that you should be thankful for what Singapore has given you. It may sound cliche, but the young have not gone through what the older generation has gone through," he said. "Hopefully this message will come across to the young, to the future of Singapore." And while Natanya says she's proud of being the youngest person ever to sing the NDP theme song, she has bigger dreams. "I want to be the first female President of Singapore," Natanya said.

The sun is beginning to rise and I take that as my cue to leave the party and venture home. I'm saying my goodbyes and then see you and suddenly feel a strong urge to stay.
Trying to think of a clever way to re-word my goodbye so I'm able to stay with you for a bit longer.
My brain fails me in my compromised state and I end up saying something lame and leaving.
That 30 seconds of intense eye contact left a huge imprint on my heart.
I wake up the next day unable to get you out of my thoughts but without even remembering your name I begin to wonder if and how I will ever be able to see you again.

Love at First Light
"Love At First Light" is a song by Singaporean artiste, Olivia Ong and child actress, Natanya Tan. Written by Paul Tan and composed by Iskandar Ismail, it was officially commissioned as the official theme song to the 2012 national day parade of Singapore, together with the 1995 National Day Parade song, My People, My Home which was reused for National Day in 2012. On the 9 August, the song was performed twice. Once by the combined school-choir and later by the duo themselves in a techno pop version. The techno pop version was incorporated into a medley, which includes song like "Stand Up For Singapore", "One People, One Nation, One Singapore", "Count On Me Singapore", "Home" and "We Are Singapore". The song's title is a play on the phrase, "Love at first sight".
Background
Alongside Paul Tan, local composer, Iskandar Ismail teamed up with him to write, produce and compose the song in early 2012. In an interview with Paul Tan on The Straits Times section, "Digital Life", Paul stated that Iskandar wanted a child to sing for the first verse of the song. 7 year old, Natanya Tan was picked along with Olivia as a duet, making Natanya to date the 2nd youngest NDP theme song singer after Shanice Nathan (who was then 7 when she sung the 2004 theme song, "Home"). On the 12 July 2012, it was officially announced and released in a press conference at Gardens by the Bay. Olivia gave her comment on the song, stating that "Love At First Light is about the determination of Singaporeans in a young nation, (and how they) are trying to build their dreams and goals.".

Theme music
Theme music is a piece that is often written specifically for a radio program, television program, video game or movie, and usually played during the intro, during title sequence and/or ending credits.

Purpose

Trying to think of a clever way to re-word my goodbye so I'm able to stay with you for a bit longer.
My brain fails me in my compromised state and I end up saying something lame and leaving.
That 30 seconds of intense eye contact left a huge imprint on my heart.
I wake up the next day unable to get you out of my thoughts but without even remembering your name I begin to wonder if and how I will ever be able to see you again.

Mr Iskandar has been instrumental in the show's musical direction and has been involved in previous National Day Parades. But for him, he says, this year is a whole new experience. "During the previous NDPs, we had a lot of theatre directors, so the approach was different. This time, our director, Mr Fan Dong Kai, comes from a mass display (background), so everything is larger-than-life," Mr Iskandar explained. "The music has to complement the display items and also the multimedia, and this year's multimedia is one of the best multimedia themes that we managed to put together, to bring out the message even more." He also said it was a challenge to work with people who had different vocal ranges. "A child's range and a lady vocalist's range is very different, so I had to make some adjustments to the tune. What you hear is the fourth or fifth revision of the melody lines," he said. He said using young voices was symbolic of Singapore's youth, who are the future of the country. "(I hope) it tells youngsters that you should be thankful for what Singapore has given you. It may sound cliche, but the young have not gone through what the older generation has gone through," he said. "Hopefully this message will come across to the young, to the future of Singapore." And while Natanya says she's proud of being the youngest person ever to sing the NDP theme song, she has bigger dreams. "I want to be the first female President of Singapore," Natanya said.

So incredibly excited to be sharing these piano arrangements with you guys! I'm a huge disney fan, and grew up and STILL growing up with their films. I've done the odd Disney arrangement on my channel, but wanted to take on doing an entire collection! I wanted to choose a selection of songs that featured classics and also some more obscurer songs from Disney too. Hi guys! It feels so good to be back making art for you guys and for me! Making this video made me feel very happy, once I finally got around to making it ^^ Here, I will perform tests to assess your brainstem's natural functions via your 12 cranial nerves. It's very easy and simple, and you may even fall into relaxation while I probe around. It may look like I am miming, but trust me, everything serves a purpose to assess your vital functions!
I also just wanted to say that as you may know, I have been experiencing life changes, moving, and experiencing new parts of my life! Every day has brought new challenges and so it has been given it's much needed time and attention. All I ask from my self and you all is that you can be able to take care of yourself. Watch out, look out for, think ahead and most importantly, be loving and accepting of your self right now. It's something I am working very hard on at the moment and there are times where it has not been easy! When I am able to read your supporting messages/comments/emails, it has been very encouraging. I love making videos for you guys but I only want to keep making them as long as I'm loving it. Therefore, when you don't see me, it's because I don't want to force myself or turning this art form into a chore. It is my most beloved hobby! Hi guys! It feels so good to be back making art for you guys and for me! Making this video made me feel very happy, once I finally got around to making it ^^ Here, I will perform tests to assess your brainstem's natural functions via your 12 cranial nerves. It's very easy and simple, and you may even fall into relaxation while I probe around. It may look like I am miming, but trust me, everything serves a purpose to assess your vital functions!
I also just wanted to say that as you may know, I have been experiencing life changes, moving, and experiencing new parts of my life! Every day has brought new challenges and so it has been given it's much needed time and attention. All I ask from my self and you all is that you can be able to take care of yourself. Watch out, look out for, think ahead and most importantly, be loving and accepting of your self right now. It's something I am working very hard on at the moment and there are times where it has not been easy! When I am able to read your supporting messages/comments/emails, it has been very encouraging. I love making videos for you guys but I only want to keep making them as long as I'm loving it. Therefore, when you don't see me, it's because I don't want to force myself or turning this art form into a chore. It is my most beloved hobby! I've got a lot of changes coming up and they are, trust me, for the better. But yeah, just wanted to say thank you to all of you. Some of you I have known since I started and I regard you as my friends. Ok, I'm going to paste the default description now.
