Al Yah Satellite Communications, Yahsat is a satellite communications company wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company, the Abu Dhabi Government's strategic investment company. The company offers voice, data, video and internet services for broadcast, Internet and VSAT users for both private and government organisations.
Incorporated in January 2007 the company had a aim of developing, operating and using multi-purpose (Government and commercial) communications satellite systems for the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South-West Asia regions.
In August 2007, Yahsat approved a consortium of EADS Astrium and Thales Alenia to construct Yahsat's own satellites, manufacturing took 36 months to be completed in Europe. Arianespace were appointed to launch the first satellite Y1A, currently positioned at 52.5° East.
In April 2008, Yahsat signed a 15 year lease agreement with the UAE Armed Forces to provide secure satellite communications in the UAE as Yahsat's first government customer. As part of this contract, Yahsat will supply the ground terminals and gateway infrastructure for satellite network services.

Since being incorporated in 2007, Yahsat has designed the region's first multi-purpose satellite system, based on extensive interaction with customers and research into their communication needs. Note: No sound was transmitted from Baikonur for this launch. A Proton-M rocket launched from Baikonur today, April 23rd 2012, at 22:18 UTC. The Proton-M carried the YahSat 1B satellite into orbit. The satellite will provide broadband to users and connectivity to military around the world. The Proton-M first stage burned for 2 minutes before seprating, with the second stage burning for 3.5 minutes and the final Proton third stage burn lasting 4 minutes. The total flight will last 9 hours and 12 minutes with 5 burns of the Breeze-M upperstage, The Satellite will be released 12.5 minutes after the final burn of the Upperstage. -

В соответствии с циклограммой полета головной блок в составе РБ «Бриз-М» и КА «ЯСат-1Б» штатно отделился от третьей ступени ракеты-носителя, после чего РБ продолжил выведение КА на целевую орбиту. -
