2016 marks thirty years since the theatrical release of SpaceCamp, the movie.
As part of the 2016 Space Camp Hall of Fame weekend (Space Camp Summer Fest 2016), the director for SpaceCamp, Harry Winer, was joined by Larry B. Scott (Rudy Tyler), Scott Holcomb (Hideo Takamini), SpaceCamp producer Patrick Bailey, and Space Camp founder Ed Buckbee to discuss the film.
Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger also provided her thoughts on the film and space.
Before the film, a short compilation of promotional material unseen since 1986 was shown.
Apologies for the awful B-Cam. I was ill-prepared. I've cut to it as infrequently as possible; only when not using it was definitely worse.

Harry Potter
Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels and one play written by British author J. K. Rowling. The series chronicles the life of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who aims to become immortal, overthrow the Ministry of Magic, subjugate non-magic people and destroy anyone who stands in his way.
Since the release of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, on 30 June 1997, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. They attracted a wide adult audience, and have remained one of the preeminent cornerstones of young adult literature. The series has also had some share of criticism, including concern about the increasingly dark tone as the series progressed, as well as the often gruesome and graphic violence depicted in the series. As of July 2013, the books have sold more than 450 million copies worldwide, making the series the best-selling book series in history, and have been translated into 73 languages. The last four books consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history, with the final instalment selling roughly 11 million copies in the United States within the first 24 hours of its release.

Studio Tour
The Studio Tour (also known as The Backlot Tour) is a ride attraction at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park in California (USA).
The Tour is the signature attraction at the park, and goes into a working movie studio, with various film sets on the lot. In recent years, guests have sat in multi-car trams for the duration of the ride. The Tour lasts about 45–50 minutes and is led by a live tour guide who can be seen throughout the tram on video screens. It travels through the Front Lot, Backlot and various attractions, passing sets and props from movies along the way.
The tour inspired a smaller but similar version at Universal Studios Florida, which was removed in 1995.
History
The tour has always been at the heart of Universal. From 1915, when visitors sat on bleachers for 25 cents, to the 1964 introduction of pink and white GlamorTrams, to the current technological sophistication, the behind-the-scenes view of a working movie studio has been a large attraction.
During the early years of the tram tour (1964–1965) all of the attractions at Universal were reached via the tram. The tour originally departed from the front lot comissary. In 1965, the upper lot studio tour center opened.

Earth, Wind & Fire
Earth, Wind & Fire (EWF) is an American band that has spanned the musical genres of R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco, pop, rock, Latin and African. They are one of the most successful bands of the 20th century. Rolling Stone Magazine described them as "innovative, precise yet sensual, calculated yet galvanizing" and declared that the band "changed the sound of black pop".
The band was founded in Chicago by Maurice White in 1969. Other members have included Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson, Larry Dunn, Al McKay and Andrew Woolfolk. The band has received 20 Grammy nominations; they won six as a group and two of its members, Maurice White and Bailey, won separate individual awards. Earth, Wind & Fire have 12 American Music Awards nominations and four(20) awards. They have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and sold over 100 million records, making them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time. Five members of Earth, Wind & Fire were also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame: Maurice White, Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Larry Dunn and Al McKay. The music industry and fans have bestowed Lifetime Achievement honors from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award – 2002), NAACP (Hall of Fame – 1994) and the BET Awards (Lifetime Achievement Award – 2002).

The Making of Harry Potter A Full tour around the Warner Bros. Studio Tour -- The making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios outside London. On this tour I walk around all the sets beginning with the Great Hall including its costumes of Hogwarts students, two large tables which are set for dinner; the teachers' table where the Hogwarts Professors sat and statues featuring their costumes can be seen there. It then follows the tour through the interior sets such as the iconic Potions Classroom, Gryffindor Common Room, DumbleDore's Office, Ministry of Magic fireplaces, Defence against the Dark Arts Classroom, The Burrow, Hagrid's Hut and many props such as the Goblet of Fire, Wands, Time Turner, Memory Cabinet, Broom Sticks, etc. In fact you name it and it is here. Exterior sets such as number four, Privet Drive, Hogwarts Bridge, the Riddle family grave and the triple-decker purple Knight Bus are showcased in the Studio Tour's backlot -- it's also one of two places in the world where you can buy Butterbeer! Then it is on to the more behind the scenes areas such as the Creature Shop, Diagon Alley and the Model Room with its impressive scale model of Hogwarts before finally ending in the Studio Gift Shop. The Harry Potter film series made Leavesden its home for more than ten years. As the books were still being released while the films were being made, the production crew saved many of the iconic sets, props and costumes that were created especially for the films - just in case they were ever needed later on in the series. Once filming wrapped on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in 2010, the production crew were left with a treasure trove of thousands of intricate and beautifully-made artefacts, many of which wouldn't have been saved on a typical production. The team behind Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter wanted to preserve and showcase these iconic props, costumes and sets so that Harry Potter fans could experience the magic of filmmaking first-hand. Many of the original cast and crew returned to reassemble the sets and record their memories from filming, and on 31st March 2012, the Studio Tour opened its doors. Set adjacent to the working film studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made, the Studio Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore two soundstages and a backlot filled with original sets, animatronic creatures and breathtaking special effects. 2016 marks thirty years since the theatrical release of SpaceCamp, the movie. As part of the 2016 Space Camp Hall of Fame weekend (Space Camp Summer Fest 2016), the director for SpaceCamp, Harry Winer, was joined by Larry B. Scott (Rudy Tyler), Scott Holcomb (Hideo Takamini), SpaceCamp producer Patrick Bailey, and Space Camp founder Ed Buckbee to discuss the film. Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger also provided her thoughts on the film and space. Before the film, a short compilation of promotional material unseen since 1986 was shown. Apologies for the awful B-Cam. I was ill-prepared. I've cut to it as infrequently as possible; only when not using it was definitely worse.

On this tour...
The Making of Harry Potter
A Full tour around the Warner Bros. Studio Tour -- The making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios outside London.
On this tour I walk around all the sets beginning with the Great Hall including its costumes of Hogwarts students, two large tables which are set for dinner; the teachers' table where the Hogwarts Professors sat and statues featuring their costumes can be seen there.
It then follows the tour through the interior sets such as the iconic Potions Classroom, Gryffindor Common Room, DumbleDore's Office, Ministry of Magic fireplaces, Defence against the Dark Arts Classroom, The Burrow, Hagrid's Hut and many props such as the Goblet of Fire, Wands, Time Turner, Memory Cabinet, Broom Sticks, etc. In fact you name it and it is here.
Exterior sets such as number four, Privet Drive, Hogwarts Bridge, the Riddle family grave and the triple-decker purple Knight Bus are showcased in the Studio Tour's backlot -- it's also one of two places in the world where you can buy Butterbeer!
Then it is on to the more behind the scenes areas such
as the Creature Shop, Diagon Alley and the Model Room with its impressive scale model of Hogwarts before finally ending in the Studio Gift Shop.
The Harry Potter film series made Leavesden its home for more than ten years. As the books were still being released while the films were being made, the production crew saved many of the iconic sets, props and costumes that were created especially for the films - just in case they were ever needed later on in the series.
Once filming wrapped on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in 2010, the production crew were left with a treasure trove of thousands of intricate and beautifully-made artefacts, many of which wouldn't have been saved on a typical production.
The team behind Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter wanted to preserve and showcase these iconic props, costumes and sets so that Harry Potter fans could experience the magic of filmmaking first-hand. Many of the original cast and crew returned to reassemble the sets and record their memories from filming, and on 31st March 2012, the Studio Tour opened its doors.
Set adjacent to the working film studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made, the Studio Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore two soundstages and a backlot filled with original sets, animatronic creatures and breathtaking special effects.

2016 marks thirty years since the theatrical release of SpaceCamp, the movie. As part of the 2016 Space Camp Hall of Fame weekend (Space Camp Summer Fest 2016), the director for SpaceCamp, Harry Winer, was joined by Larry B. Scott (Rudy Tyler), Scott Holcomb (Hideo Takamini), SpaceCamp producer Patrick Bailey, and Space Camp founder Ed Buckbee to discuss the film. Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger also provided her thoughts on the film and space. Before the film, a short compilation of promotional material unseen since 1986 was shown. Apologies for the awful B-Cam. I was ill-prepared. I've cut to it as infrequently as possible; only when not using it was definitely worse.

As part of the 2016 Space Camp Hall of Fame weekend (Space Camp Summer Fest 2016), the director for SpaceCamp, Harry Winer, was joined by Larry B. Scott (Rudy Tyler), Scott Holcomb (Hideo Takamini), SpaceCamp producer Patrick Bailey, and Space Camp founder Ed Buckbee to discuss the film. Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger also provided her thoughts on the film and space. Before the film, a short compilation of promotional material unseen since 1986 was shown. My favorite TV movie of all time. It is based on the novel of the same name by James Lipton. It's really the only project he has worked on, in terms of narrative fiction. I love how it captures the true 1980's Broadway gypsy lifestyle. I searched for the film version forever, and finally got it on VHS and converted it. I just want MORE people to watch it. It stars Timothy Daly, Shanna Reed, Marguerite Hickey, Nicholas Gunn, Antony Hamilton, Signe Hasso, Ron Field, and Keenan Wynn. Choreographed by Graciela Daniele. Directed by Harry Winer.

As part of the 2016 Space Camp Hall of Fame weekend (Space Camp Summer Fest 2016), the director for SpaceCamp, Harry Winer, was joined by Larry B. Scott (Rudy Tyler), Scott Holcomb (Hideo Takamini), SpaceCamp producer Patrick Bailey, and Space Camp founder Ed Buckbee to discuss the film.

The Making of Harry Potter
A Full tour around the Warner Bros. Studio Tour -- The making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios outside London.
On this tour I walk around all the sets beginning with the Great Hall including its costumes of Hogwarts students, two large tables which are set for dinner; the teachers' table where the Hogwarts Professors sat and statues featuring their costumes can be seen there.
It then follows the tour through the interior sets such as the iconic Potions Classroom, Gryffindor Common Room, DumbleDore's Office, Ministry of Magic fireplaces, Defence against the Dark Arts Classroom, The Burrow, Hagrid's Hut and many props such as the Goblet of Fire, Wands, Time Turner, Memory Cabinet, Broom Sticks, etc. In fact you name it and it is here.
Exterior sets such as number four, Privet Drive, Hogwarts Bridge, the Riddle family grave and the triple-decker purple Knight Bus are showcased in the Studio Tour's backlot -- it's also one of two places in the world where you can buy Butterbeer!
Then it is on to the more behind the scenes areas such
as the Creature Shop, Diagon Alley and the Model Room with its impressive scale model of Hogwarts before finally ending in the Studio Gift Shop.
The Harry Potter film series made Leavesden its home for more than ten years. As the books were still being released while the films were being made, the production crew saved many of the iconic sets, props and costumes that were created especially for the films - just in case they were ever needed later on in the series.
Once filming wrapped on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in 2010, the production crew were left with a treasure trove of thousands of intricate and beautifully-made artefacts, many of which wouldn't have been saved on a typical production.
The team behind Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter wanted to preserve and showcase these iconic props, costumes and sets so that Harry Potter fans could experience the magic of filmmaking first-hand. Many of the original cast and crew returned to reassemble the sets and record their memories from filming, and on 31st March 2012, the Studio Tour opened its doors.
Set adjacent to the working film studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made, the Studio Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore two soundstages and a backlot filled with original sets, animatronic creatures and breathtaking special effects.

In the 1990 Nintendo World Championship competition, Tetris was the game to beat. The winner, Thor Aackerlund, is still seen by many as the best to have ever played.
Today’s Classic Tetris tournaments are played on that same version of Nintendo Tetris, using original NES game systems, controllers, and Tetris cartridges.
In 2009, a player named Harry Hong became the first to achieve the highest possible score of 999,999 points. Inspired by this achievement, filmmaker Adam Cornelius produced a short film about Harry called “Max-Out”, and launched a Kickstarter campaign to document the world of competitive Tetris.
As word of Adam’s Kickstarter campaign spread, rumors of max-out scores from other Tetris Masters began to surface, threatening the supremacy of Harry’s achievement. With the help of Nintendo World Championship veteran Robin Mihara, Adam searched for all of the Tetris Masters he could find. Jonas Neubauer emerged as an early max-out artist, along with the elusive original champ Thor Aackerlund. The idea of bringing these and other NES Tetris Masters together to compete in a live tournament became an obvious and irresistible proposition which was artfully captured in the 2010 feature length documentary Ecstasy of Order: The Tetris Masters.
Under the leadership of producer Vince Clemente, The Classic Tetris World Championship is currently held at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, an annual event which has hosted the tournament since 2012. Chuck Van Pelt and his organizing committee have built the PRGE into the largest classic gaming expo in the country, drawing around 6,000 attendees.
Every year the scores get higher. Rivalries are revisited once again, and new players emerge to challenge the old guard. Over 20 players have maxed out the score now. Will you be the next?

Under the leadership of producer Vince Clemente, The Classic Tetris World Championship is currently held at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, an annual event which has hosted the tournament since 2012. Chuck Van Pelt and his organizing committee have built the PRGE into the largest classic gaming expo in the country, drawing around 6,000 attendees.
Every year the scores get higher. Rivalries are revisited once again, and new players emerge to challenge the old guard. Over 20 players have maxed out the score now. Will you be the next?

On March 14, 1993, CBS aired "Men Don't Tell," a TV movie about domestic violence starring Peter Strauss and Judith Light. The twist: Strauss's character, construction executive Ed MacAffrey, was abused by his wife Laura, played by Light.
Based on a true story, it dramatizes the story of a loving husband, who is terrorized by the violent behavior of his wife. He had long endured the physical and emotional abuse heaped upon him by his neurotic wife.
He tolerates this not only because he loves her and is concerned over the welfare of his daughter, but also because men are traditionally regarded as weaklings if they allow themselves to be battered by their wives.
After one of Laura's destructive tantrums brings the attention of the police, Ed is suspected of being the aggressor! Finally, Laura goes too far and Ed tries to defend himself--whereupon Laura crashes through the front window of her home and is rendered comatose. Ed is arrested for Domestic Violence and Attempted Murder.
As he is interrogated, he tells his story of years of abuse, and how he even once sought help by calling a domestic violence hotline, only to get scorned and hung up on. This interrogation takes all night, by highly skeptical police.
While this is going on, his children have been taken to their paternal grandfather, himself a retired police officer, to spend the night. In the morning, young daughter, who chose to remain silent through the years of abuse due to the humiliation and shame, asked the grandfather is her mother was in trouble.
This surprised the grandfather, who then asked her why she thought her mother, whom he thought was the victim of his abusive son, would be in trouble? To this she said, "Because mommy hits daddy".
"The most sobering point about 'Men Don't Tell' is that we go into the story conditioned to make jokes about wives hurling rolling pins at their husbands and then starkly witness how unfunny and terrifying it really is," the Los Angeles Times' Ray Loynd wrote.
He continued: "Light's vicious, insecure wife is a harrowing portrait, although ultimately, to the actress's credit, touched with sympathy. Her bleak image in the movie's last scene is shattering under the fine direction of Harry Winer. And Strauss' pummeled husband - whose wife flails him with sudden, sharp fists that are so realistic they make you flinch - is a study of a warmly masculine man who is no wimp, AND NO WIFE HITTER, either."
USA Today's Matt Roush called the film "violent, unsettling and sympathetically acted," while the New York Times' John J. O'Connor praised the leads for their "searing" performances.
The Washington Post's Tom Shales liked "Men Don't Tell," too, praising Light as "superb at bringing out the pathos as well as the hostility in this character."
Although the ending of the story could be considered positive and upbeat, it is painfully clear that there are many issues that will never be resolved. First telecast by CBS on May 14, 1993, according to a New York Times Story, "Men Don't Tell" was never rebroadcast on over-the-air television, reportedly because it incurred the wrath of several women's groups.
"Men Don't Tell" was seen in 18.3 million homes, ranking third among the week's prime time broadcast, behind ABC's "Home Improvement" and CBS's "60 Minutes."
People may think Ed MacAffrey's experience was an isolated case, but according to the "Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women", 39% of the victims are men. That's nearly four of ten cases, yet nearly 100% of the shelters where domestic violence victims can go with their children take only women. Men can experience this type of abuse for years, not wishing to leave his children behind, in the hands of the abuser, and to become the next target.

I searched for the film version forever, and finally got it on VHS and converted it. I just want MORE people to watch it.
