Os pongo algo de su biografía....: LaDonna Adrian Gaines, de nombre artístico Donna Summer (Boston, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, 31 de diciembre de 1948 - Key West, Florida, Estados Unidos, 17 de mayo de 2012 ) fue una cantante y compositora musical estadounidense, mundialmente famosa por sus éxitos de géneros disco y pop en los años 70 y primeros 80. Entre sus canciones más recordadas se cuentan "I Feel Love", "On the Radio" y "Last Dance". Dotada de una poderosa voz de mezzosoprano y llamada «Reina de la música disco, Donna Summer ganó cinco premios Grammy y once de sus álbumes lograron la certificación de Oro por ventas en Estados Unidos. A lo largo de su carrera vendió más de 100 millones de copias en todo el mundo, lo que la convierte en uno de los músicos con mayores ventas de todos los tiempos. Fallecimiento Donna Summer muere el jueves 17 de mayo de 2012 en su casa de Key West (Florida), siendo las 10:30 UTC -4, a los 63 años de edad, tras padecer un cáncer de pulmón durante años. Algunas fuentes han atribuido el origen de la enfermedad a la inhalación de aire tóxico tras los sucesos del 11-S en Nueva York, ciudad donde Donna se hallaba en esos días. Jade is an ornamental stone. The term jade is applied to two different metamorphic rocks that are made up of different silicate minerals:

The English word jade (alternative spellings "jaid", "jadeite") is derived (via French l'ejade and Latin ilia) from the Spanish term piedra de ijada (first recorded in 1565) or "loin stone", from its reputed efficacy in curing ailments of the loins and kidneys. Nephrite is derived from lapis nephriticus, the Latin version of the Spanish piedra de ijada. In some countries, jade is more commonly known as 'greenstone'.

Nephrite and jadeite were used from prehistoric periods for hardstone carving. Jadeite has about the same hardness as quartz, while nephrite is somewhat softer. It was not until the 19th century that a French mineralogist determined that "jade" was in fact two different materials^{[citation needed]}.

Among the earliest known jade artifacts excavated from prehistoric sites are simple ornaments with bead, button, and tubular shapes. Additionally, jade was used for adze heads, knives, and other weapons, which can be delicately shaped. As metal-working technologies became available, the beauty of jade made it valuable for ornaments and decorative objects. Jadeite measures between 6.0 and 7.0 Mohs hardness, and Nephrite between 6.0 and 6.5, so it can be worked with quartz or garnet sand, and polished with bamboo or even ground jade.^{[citation needed]}

LaDonna Adrian Gaines (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012), known by the stage name Donna Summer, was an American singer and songwriter who gained prominence during the disco era of the late 1970s. She had a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and was a five-time Grammy Award winner. Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the United States Billboard chart, and she also charted four number-one singles in the United States within a 13-month period.

Born into a devoutly Christian lower middle class African American family in Boston, Massachusetts, Summer first became involved with singing through church choir groups before joining a number of bands influenced by the Motown Sound. Influenced by the counterculture of the 1960s, she became the front singer of a psychedelic rock band named Crow and moved to New York City. Joining a touring version of the musical Hair, she spent several years living in West Germany, where she married Helmut Sommer, whose surname she adopted as her stage name.

Os pongo algo de su biografía....: LaDonna Adrian Gaines, de nombre artístico Donna Summer (Boston, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, 31 de diciembre de 1948 - Key West, Florida, Estados Unidos, 17 de mayo de 2012 ) fue una cantante y compositora musical estadounidense, mundialmente famosa por sus éxitos de géneros disco y pop en los años 70 y primeros 80. Entre sus canciones más recordadas se cuentan "I Feel Love", "On the Radio" y "Last Dance". Dotada de una poderosa voz de mezzosoprano y llamada «Reina de la música disco, Donna Summer ganó cinco premios Grammy y once de sus álbumes lograron la certificación de Oro por ventas en Estados Unidos. A lo largo de su carrera vendió más de 100 millones de copias en todo el mundo, lo que la convierte en uno de los músicos con mayores ventas de todos los tiempos. Fallecimiento Donna Summer muere el jueves 17 de mayo de 2012 en su casa de Key West (Florida), siendo las 10:30 UTC -4, a los 63 años de edad, tras padecer un cáncer de pulmón durante años. Algunas fuentes han atribuido el origen de la enfermedad a la inhalación de aire tóxico tras los sucesos del 11-S en Nueva York, ciudad donde Donna se hallaba en esos días. Ella misma declaró que los atentados terroristas la sumieron en un estado depresivo, del que pudo reponerse gracias a su religiosidad. La cantante libraba en secreto su batalla contra el cáncer y se afanaba por concluir la grabación de un último disco antes de morir. Os pongo algo de su biografía....: LaDonna Adrian Gaines, de nombre artístico Donna Summer (Boston, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, 31 de diciembre de 1948 - Key West, Florida, Estados Unidos, 17 de mayo de 2012 ) fue una cantante y compositora musical estadounidense, mundialmente famosa por sus éxitos de géneros disco y pop en los años 70 y primeros 80. Entre sus canciones más recordadas se cuentan "I Feel Love", "On the Radio" y "Last Dance". Dotada de una poderosa voz de mezzosoprano y llamada «Reina de la música disco, Donna Summer ganó cinco premios Grammy y once de sus álbumes lograron la certificación de Oro por ventas en Estados Unidos. A lo largo de su carrera vendió más de 100 millones de copias en todo el mundo, lo que la convierte en uno de los músicos con mayores ventas de todos los tiempos. Fallecimiento Donna Summer muere el jueves 17 de mayo de 2012 en su casa de Key West (Florida), siendo las 10:30 UTC -4, a los 63 años de edad, tras padecer un cáncer de pulmón durante años.
