Summary of the scene:
Policewoman Sarah Nicklin passed out from chloroform by the [censored] doctor, later she is seen gagged with black tape tied arms over her head to a stretcher with tape and straps. Her feet are tied to the stretcher with ropes. The doctor the proceeds to cut off her white tank top, exposing her black sports bra, the doctor starts to mark her body with black marker to open it, she struggles and manages to escape throwing acid in the face to the doctor.

Rachel Burke (Sarah Nicklin) is a young security guard assigned to a creepy run down inner-city addiction clinic, but soon discovers she is not alone. Paranormal disturbances manifest an angry malevolent force building in deadly intensity. Dread Central has always been a family endeavor. We're a mom and pop shop to the greatest extent. We've made it 10 years with absolutely no help from anyone. No parent company. Nobody watching our backs.
It's with a great deal of humility that we say we think we've become a cornerstone within the genre. And that's because of you guys. It's you, the talented creators out there, the readers, and the close friends who have lifted us up when we were down, who have allowed us to do what we do for this long; and words cannot describe how grateful we are to each and every one of you. We will never forget this time... these past few years.
Even though our site is doing great traffic-wise, advertising dollars are shrinking more and more every month. These changes are largely beyond our control and have hit the entire online publishing industry hard. Quietly many sites have been absorbed into parent companies, filed for bankruptcy, or have closed for good. Even sites that get 10x our traffic have felt the squeeze, laying off writers or in some cases turning to crowdsourced content and paying far below industry standards for articles.
That being said... This is the tipping point. Ad-supported websites are on the way out. We have staved this off for as long as possible. We are tired of running click-bait stories, of making multi-page galleries, of having to put revenue concerns ahead of the user experience.
So, we are turning to you and a Patreon model similar to PBS and its sustaining members.

We know this news that Dread Central needs your patronage may be a shock to you. Hell, it's a shock to us. Unfortunately, after dealing with a perfect storm of sorts this year where everything has either changed abruptly or just not gone our way, we find ourselves still standing, but on our last legs.
We are hoping that moving to a reader-supported model will allow us to bring fans and filmmakers the kind of site they deserve. And allow us to continue to grow the site and create original content that celebrates the genre we all have come to love.
It's a scary prospect. People may not be ready for this. Everyone is used to things being free on the internet, but few realize how much time and money goes into running a website. With mounting costs and an ever-increasing demand for original, in-depth content, being shackled to an ad-supported model that is offering publishers less and less is not a sustainable plan anymore.
We've launched a Patreon initiative, which will let our patrons get Dread Central ad-free with no click-bait for just $1 a month / $12 a year. We don't want to sell out to a company, but rather to the fans and the industry itself. If you cannot afford it, Dread Central will still be here as-is but with the same ads that drive us all mad. We just don't know for how long.
Patreon will allow us to reward our friends and readers who support our site. Those who choose to support Dread Central on a monthly basis can contribute as little as $1 a month and be rewarded and recognized for their contribution right here on the website.
We all use the same internet and are well aware of what's annoying (i.e., pop-up ads we cannot figure out how to close and multi-page galleries and stories). We don't want to do any of that crap anymore. We want this to be YOUR site. YOUR way! We want YOU to be a part of design choices and editorial choices.
Our patrons WILL have the opportunity to be the guiding voice of Dread Central, and that excites us to no end. Also, if you cannot chip in, please just spread the word on your social media. You never know whom it might get to, and maybe they can help out.
At the end of the day we remain hopeful that we can actually come together and make this work. We don't know where our future lies, but we do know what we'd like to be doing now, and that's bringing you all the content you want - THE WAY THAT YOU WANT IT.
We love you guys, and we mean that. It's been a hell of a ride, and we hope it continues. This is new territory for us and everyone. But that's what we do... we get back up and we keep fighting. One way or another.

Sarah Nicklin
Sarah Nicklin is an American stage, film and television actress. Her career is strongly focused on independent films and she is known for her portrayal of strong, edgy characters with a dark, gritty past. Her first notable film role was as Sister Kelley Wrath in the independent cult-hit Nun of That in 2009. Since then she has received three "best actress" nominations for her roles in Exhumed, Choices, and Zombie Allegiance. She has also starred in the cult hit Atomic Brain Invasion.
Background
Nicklin was born in Danbury, Connecticut where she spent many hours playing imaginary games in the wildlife preserve behind her house. She moved to Ridgefield Connecticut for high school where she appeared in school plays and participated in theater showcases and slam poetry readings. Nicklin graduated Emerson College in 2009 cum laude with a BA in Theater, BA in Marketing, and minor in psychology.
She started acting due to a school-girl crush on child star Jonathan Taylor Thomas. At an early age, Nicklin was convinced that they were star-crossed lovers and was determined to become a successful actress in order to meet him. Even though she was terribly shy as a child, she appeared in her first play "Bye, Bye Birdie" in 6th grade and has continued to pursue acting ever since.

Sarah
Sarah or Sara (/ˈsɛərə/;Hebrew: שָׂרָה, Modern Sara, Tiberian Śārā ISO 259-3 Śarra; Latin: Sara; Arabic: سارا or سارة Sāra;) was the wife and half–sister of Abraham and the mother of Isaac as described in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran. Her name was originally Sarai. According to Genesis 17:15, God changed her name to Sarah as part of a covenant after Hagar bore Abraham his first son, Ishmael.
The Hebrew name Sarah indicates a woman of high rank and is translated as "princess" or "noblewoman".
In the Hebrew Bible
Sarah was the wife of Abraham, as well as being his half-sister, the daughter of his father Terah. Sarah was approximately ten years younger than her husband.
She was considered beautiful to the point that Abraham feared that when they were near more powerful rulers she would be taken away and given to another man. Twice he purposely identified her as being only his sister so that he would be "treated well" for her sake. No reason is given why Sarah remained barren (childless) for a long period of time. She was originally called "Sarai", which is translated "my princess". Later she was called "Sarah", i.e., "princess".

Dread Central
Dread Central is an American website founded in 2006 that is dedicated to horror news, interviews, and reviews. It covers horror films, comics, novels, and toys. Dread Central has won the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Best Website four times and was selected as AMC's Site of the Week in 2008.
History
Dread Central was founded on July 4, 2006. When a venture to create a horror-themed cable television channel stalled, the web team left and established their own news site. In 2012, a negative review posted by Scott Foy attracted controversy when Foy and the film's director, Jim Wynorski, engaged in a verbal altercation online.
Website
The site's staff use horror-themed aliases. The website has a broad focus, and it covers both mainstream and fringe topics that range from horror films to comics to toys. Besides reviews and news, they also host several podcasts. Steve Persall of the Tampa Bay Times states that "if it gushes blood or desecrates flesh, Dread Central covers it." The site is oriented toward a male demographic and favors edgy, exploitative films.

Even though our site is doing great traffic-wise, advertising dollars are shrinking more and more every month. These changes are largely beyond our control and have hit the entire online publishing industry hard. Quietly many sites have been absorbed into parent companies, filed for bankruptcy, or have closed for good. Even sites that get 10x our traffic have felt the squeeze, laying off writers or in some cases turning to crowdsourced content and paying far below industry standards for articles.
That being said... This is the tipping point. Ad-supported websites are on the way out. We have staved this off for as long as possible. We are tired of running click-bait stories, of making multi-page galleries, of having to put revenue concerns ahead of the user experience.
So, we are turning to you and a Patreon model similar to PBS and its sustaining members.

We know this news that Dread Central needs your patronage may be a shock to you. Hell, it's a shock to us. Unfortunately, after dealing with a perfect storm of sorts this year where everything has either changed abruptly or just not gone our way, we find ourselves still standing, but on our last legs.
We are hoping that moving to a reader-supported model will allow us to bring fans and filmmakers the kind of site they deserve. And allow us to continue to grow the site and create original content that celebrates the genre we all have come to love.
It's a scary prospect. People may not be ready for this. Everyone is used to things being free on the internet, but few realize how much time and money goes into running a website. With mounting costs and an ever-increasing demand for original, in-depth content, being shackled to an ad-supported model that is offering publishers less and less is not a sustainable plan anymore.
We've launched a Patreon initiative, which will let our patrons get Dread Central ad-free with no click-bait for just $1 a month / $12 a year. We don't want to sell out to a company, but rather to the fans and the industry itself. If you cannot afford it, Dread Central will still be here as-is but with the same ads that drive us all mad. We just don't know for how long.
Patreon will allow us to reward our friends and readers who support our site. Those who choose to support Dread Central on a monthly basis can contribute as little as $1 a month and be rewarded and recognized for their contribution right here on the website.
We all use the same internet and are well aware of what's annoying (i.e., pop-up ads we cannot figure out how to close and multi-page galleries and stories). We don't want to do any of that crap anymore. We want this to be YOUR site. YOUR way! We want YOU to be a part of design choices and editorial choices.
Our patrons WILL have the opportunity to be the guiding voice of Dread Central, and that excites us to no end. Also, if you cannot chip in, please just spread the word on your social media. You never know whom it might get to, and maybe they can help out.
At the end of the day we remain hopeful that we can actually come together and make this work. We don't know where our future lies, but we do know what we'd like to be doing now, and that's bringing you all the content you want - THE WAY THAT YOU WANT IT.
We love you guys, and we mean that. It's been a hell of a ride, and we hope it continues. This is new territory for us and everyone. But that's what we do... we get back up and we keep fighting. One way or another.

It's with a great deal of humility that we say we think we've become a cornerstone within the genre. And that's because of you guys. It's you, the talented creators out there, the readers, and the close friends who have lifted us up when we were down, who have allowed us to do what we do for this long; and words cannot describe how grateful we are to each and every one of you. We will never forget this time... these past few years.
Even though our site is doing great traffic-wise, advertising dollars are shrinking more and more every month. These changes are largely beyond our control and have hit the entire online publishing industry hard. Quietly many sites have been absorbed into parent companies, filed for bankruptcy, or have closed for good. Even sites that get 10x our traffic have felt the squeeze, laying off writers or in some cases turning to crowdsourced content and paying far below industry standards for articles.
That being said... This is the tipping point. Ad-supported websites are on the way out. We have staved this off for as long as possible. We are tired of running click-bait stories, of making multi-page galleries, of having to put revenue concerns ahead of the user experience.
So, we are turning to you and a Patreon model similar to PBS and its sustaining members.

We know this news that Dread Central needs your patronage may be a shock to you. Hell, it's a shock to us. Unfortunately, after dealing with a perfect storm of sorts this year where everything has either changed abruptly or just not gone our way, we find ourselves still standing, but on our last legs.
We are hoping that moving to a reader-supported model will allow us to bring fans and filmmakers the kind of site they deserve. And allow us to continue to grow the site and create original content that celebrates the genre we all have come to love.
It's a scary prospect. People may not be ready for this. Everyone is used to things being free on the internet, but few realize how much time and money goes into running a website. With mounting costs and an ever-increasing demand for original, in-depth content, being shackled to an ad-supported model that is offering publishers less and less is not a sustainable plan anymore.
We've launched a Patreon initiative, which will let our patrons get Dread Central ad-free with no click-bait for just $1 a month / $12 a year. We don't want to sell out to a company, but rather to the fans and the industry itself. If you cannot afford it, Dread Central will still be here as-is but with the same ads that drive us all mad. We just don't know for how long.
Patreon will allow us to reward our friends and readers who support our site. Those who choose to support Dread Central on a monthly basis can contribute as little as $1 a month and be rewarded and recognized for their contribution right here on the website.
We all use the same internet and are well aware of what's annoying (i.e., pop-up ads we cannot figure out how to close and multi-page galleries and stories). We don't want to do any of that crap anymore. We want this to be YOUR site. YOUR way! We want YOU to be a part of design choices and editorial choices.
Our patrons WILL have the opportunity to be the guiding voice of Dread Central, and that excites us to no end. Also, if you cannot chip in, please just spread the word on your social media. You never know whom it might get to, and maybe they can help out.
At the end of the day we remain hopeful that we can actually come together and make this work. We don't know where our future lies, but we do know what we'd like to be doing now, and that's bringing you all the content you want - THE WAY THAT YOU WANT IT.
We love you guys, and we mean that. It's been a hell of a ride, and we hope it continues. This is new territory for us and everyone. But that's what we do... we get back up and we keep fighting. One way or another.

It's you, the talented creators out there, the readers, and the close friends who have lifted us up when we were down, who have allowed us to do what we do for this long; and words cannot describe how grateful we are to each and every one of you. We will never forget this time... these past few years.
Even though our site is doing great traffic-wise, advertising dollars are shrinking more and more every month. These changes are largely beyond our control and have hit the entire online publishing industry hard. Quietly many sites have been absorbed into parent companies, filed for bankruptcy, or have closed for good. Even sites that get 10x our traffic have felt the squeeze, laying off writers or in some cases turning to crowdsourced content and paying far below industry standards for articles.
That being said... This is the tipping point. Ad-supported websites are on the way out. We have staved this off for as long as possible. We are tired of running click-bait stories, of making multi-page galleries, of having to put revenue concerns ahead of the user experience.
So, we are turning to you and a Patreon model similar to PBS and its sustaining members.

We know this news that Dread Central needs your patronage may be a shock to you. Hell, it's a shock to us. Unfortunately, after dealing with a perfect storm of sorts this year where everything has either changed abruptly or just not gone our way, we find ourselves still standing, but on our last legs.
We are hoping that moving to a reader-supported model will allow us to bring fans and filmmakers the kind of site they deserve. And allow us to continue to grow the site and create original content that celebrates the genre we all have come to love.
It's a scary prospect. People may not be ready for this. Everyone is used to things being free on the internet, but few realize how much time and money goes into running a website. With mounting costs and an ever-increasing demand for original, in-depth content, being shackled to an ad-supported model that is offering publishers less and less is not a sustainable plan anymore.
We've launched a Patreon initiative, which will let our patrons get Dread Central ad-free with no click-bait for just $1 a month / $12 a year. We don't want to sell out to a company, but rather to the fans and the industry itself. If you cannot afford it, Dread Central will still be here as-is but with the same ads that drive us all mad. We just don't know for how long.
Patreon will allow us to reward our friends and readers who support our site. Those who choose to support Dread Central on a monthly basis can contribute as little as $1 a month and be rewarded and recognized for their contribution right here on the website.
We all use the same internet and are well aware of what's annoying (i.e., pop-up ads we cannot figure out how to close and multi-page galleries and stories). We don't want to do any of that crap anymore. We want this to be YOUR site. YOUR way! We want YOU to be a part of design choices and editorial choices.
Our patrons WILL have the opportunity to be the guiding voice of Dread Central, and that excites us to no end. Also, if you cannot chip in, please just spread the word on your social media. You never know whom it might get to, and maybe they can help out.
At the end of the day we remain hopeful that we can actually come together and make this work. We don't know where our future lies, but we do know what we'd like to be doing now, and that's bringing you all the content you want - THE WAY THAT YOU WANT IT.
We love you guys, and we mean that. It's been a hell of a ride, and we hope it continues. This is new territory for us and everyone. But that's what we do... we get back up and we keep fighting. One way or another.

Cost of the Living: A Zom Rom Com was originally shot in 2010, screened in 2011 and spent much of 2012 at festivals around the country.
It was a project of passion and a dream of the director (Daniel Lee White) to complete his first feature film. With only a budget of $7,000 USD, 18 days of principal photgraphy and over 300 people helping and donating either their time or money we were able to complete a fantastic film.

But we did want people to see the film, so we have decided to be risky, daring... and possibly stupid... and released it online for a very limited time for free.
