Philippines Vlog: Banaue is located in the mountain province of Ifugao, Northern Luzon, Philippines. The Banaue Rice Terraces are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Getting to the Banaue Rice Terraces is much easier than the Rice Terraces of Batad. No trekking is required and for only 200 Pesos, you can hire a tricycle to drive you to the viewpoint.
There are three main stops along the way, where you can get out and photograph the picturesque scenery. It was so quiet and beautiful, just gazing out into the valley of terraces creates such a calm positive energy, it's a feeling and memory that stays with you.

Philippines Vlog: Traveling by jeepney from Sagada to Banaue, in the Mountain Province of Ifugao in Northern Luzon, Philippines. Jeepneys leave every half hour from Sagada. Travel is easy, just show up at the jeepney terminal and hop on if you can find a seat, or you can opt to ride on top of the jeepney, as we did. This was one of our favorite experiences while traveling PI. You get all the picturesque scenery, without any of the diesel smell.
If going to Banaue, take a Jeepney to Bontoc (45 minutes) Once in Bontoc, you'll transfer to another Jeepney, which will take you to Banaue. Total cost about 150 Pesos per person, or $3.30 USD (low season).

This is my first short movie form my trip in Phillippines. I wanna show how beautiful this place is. I presenting you a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Batad Rice Terraces. You can see here my road trip from Manila (the capital of Philippines) to place called Banaue. From there I took a trip by Jeepney wich is a very common transport in this country.

Our Banaue adventure took place from Randy's Brookside Inn - definitely recommended! Love the owner and the place
In Buscalan Tattoo Village I stayed at Mike's place. Just ask for him (or speak to him) when entering the village.
Things to do:
Hike the ricefields around Banaue
Hike the ricefields around Batad - also you can visit the waterfall here (I didn't do so)
Get a tattoo at Whang Od or Grace, or some fun time just hanging around in Buscalan.

Professional wakeskaters Brian Grubb (USA) and Dominik Preisner (GER) travelled to the Philippines to have an epic winch session at one of the most beautiful spots in the world. The famous rice terraces of Banaue are considered to be the Eighth Wonder of the World and were surely the perfect playground for an unique wakeskate session!

Inspired by a video from youtube this was included in my 5 must drive places Banaue to Bontoc / Ifugao to Montain Province Joyride. The sceneries and views from Banaue to Bontoc were breathtaking. You could feel the time it has stood over the country for how many centuries. Truly beautiful route! Be careful of the curves though, once you fall down due to accident, that is one deep fall. Arriving from Poblacion Bontoc then towards Sagada. The temperature here was excellent during documentation.
This was a part of the video from Bagabag Nueva Vizcaya to Bontoc Mountain Province, divided into two videos.
As of documentation:
Road Condition -Good roads but there are some portions with deterioration but still majority were good roads.
Drive thrill - Better drive slowly since those majestic mountains are truly marvelous! Park your car in a clear shoulder and take a selfie or a picture, Be careful also while driving or you dont want to fall into that deep ravine.
Security - The municipality of Bontoc is close by so dont worry about fuel here. As for security, so far so good, there are construction workers along the road.

Banaue
Banaue (or alternatively spelled as Banawe) is a fourth class municipality in the province of Ifugao, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 22,365 people. It is widely known as the site of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Batad Rice Terraces and Bangaan Rice Terraces.

Ifugao Rice Terraces
Sometimes called by locals as the "Eighth Wonder of the World", the Ifugao Rice Terraces begin at the base of the mountain range and extend several thousand feet upwards. Two of the terrace clusters in Banaue, namely Bangaan and Batad, are part of the UNESCO World Heritage inscription. It is said that their length, if put end to end, would encircle half of the globe. Built 2,000 years ago, the rice terraces manifest the engineering skill and ingenuity of the sturdy Ifugaos. They are irrigated by means of mountain streams and springs that have been tapped and channelled into canals that run downhill through the rice terraces.

Philippines Vlog: Traveling by jeepney from Sagada to Banaue, in the Mountain Province of Ifugao in Northern Luzon, Philippines. Jeepneys leave every half hour from Sagada. Travel is easy, just show up at the jeepney terminal and hop on if you can find a seat, or you can opt to ride on top of the jeepney, as we did. This was one of our favorite experiences while traveling PI. You get all the picturesque scenery, without any of the diesel smell. If going to Banaue, take a Jeepney to Bontoc (45 minutes) Once in Bontoc, you'll transfer to another Jeepney, which will take you to Banaue. Total cost about 150 Pesos per person, or $3.30 USD (low season). -

Pinoy Joyride - Banaue to Bontoc (Ifugao to Mountain Province) Joyride
Inspired by a video from youtube this was included in my 5 must drive places Banaue to Bontoc / Ifugao to Montain Province Joyride. The sceneries and views from Banaue to Bontoc were breathtaking. You could feel the time it has stood over the country for how many centuries. Truly beautiful route! Be careful of the curves though, once you fall down due to accident, that is one deep fall. Arriving from Poblacion Bontoc then towards Sagada. The temperature here was excellent during documentation. This was a part of the video from Bagabag Nueva Vizcaya to Bontoc Mountain Province, divided into two videos. Inspired by a video from youtube this was included in my 5 must drive places Banaue to Bontoc / Ifugao to Montain Province Joyride. The sceneries and views from Banaue to Bontoc were breathtaking. You could feel the time it has stood over the country for how many centuries. Truly beautiful route! Be careful of the curves though, once you fall down due to accident, that is one deep fall. Arriving from Poblacion Bontoc then towards Sagada. The temperature here was excellent during documentation.
This was a part of the video from Bagabag Nueva Vizcaya to Bontoc Mountain Province, divided into two videos.
As of documentation:
Road Condition -Good roads but there are some portions with deterioration but still majority were good roads.
Drive thrill - Better drive slowly since those majestic mountains are truly marvelous! Park your car in a clear shoulder and take a selfie or a picture, Be careful also while driving or you dont want to fall into that deep ravine.
Security - The municipality of Bontoc is close by so dont worry about fuel here. As for security, so far so good, there are construction workers along the road.

A one day hike to Batad then without a guide, easy to navigate, very steep. Bus from Banaue to Sagada for hiking, caving, walking and a trip to another waterfall. The school in Sagada were celebrating the night we got a little lost out hiking and we stumbled upon them on the way back. Watched an hour or so of some traditional dance. Lyss & Greg Visit the Banaue Rice Terraces GoPro Hero3
It was an overnight 8-hour bus ride from Manila to Banaue via Ohayami Trans. Once there, we met our tour guide, Irene Binalet, who had our activities for the next few days planned out. Our accommodations included People's Lodge in Banaue and Ramon's Native Homestay in Batad. We got to hike through the Hapao Rice Terraces up to Bogya hot springs, ride atop a Jeepney through the mountains from Banaue to the junction and hike a few hours down to Batad, then hike through the Batad terraces all the way down to Tappiya Falls. On our final day, we hiked from Batad through the Anaba rice terraces to Lanah Junction, then it was a beautiful jeepney ride back to Banaue. Overall an unforgettable part of our trip through southeast Asia. -

It was an overnight 8-hour bus ride from Manila to Banaue via Ohayami Trans. Once there, we met our tour guide, Irene Binalet, who had our activities for the next few days planned out. Our accommodations included People's Lodge in Banaue and Ramon's Native Homestay in Batad. We got to hike through the Hapao Rice Terraces up to Bogya hot springs, ride atop a Jeepney through the mountains from Banaue to the junction and hike a few hours down to Batad, then hike through the Batad terraces all the way down to Tappiya Falls. On our final day, we hiked from Batad through the Anaba rice terraces to Lanah Junction, then it was a beautiful jeepney ride back to Banaue. Overall an unforgettable part of our trip through southeast Asia.
