Felicia Chin

Felicia Chin Foon Ling (born 24 October 1984), who was also once known by her Chinese stage name Chen Jing Xuan is a Singaporean actress and contracted artiste under MediaCorp. She is best known for her roles in The Champion (2004), Portrait of Home (2005), Women of Times (2006), The Beginning (2006), The Golden Path (2008), Love Blossoms (2008), The Ultimatum (2009), Baby Bonus (2009), Love Thy Neighbour (2011), Don't Stop Believin' (2012), The Journey: Tumultuous Times (2014), The Journey: Our Homeland (2015) and Life - Fear Not (2015).

Biography

Chin was educated at Tanjong Katong Girls' School and Victoria Junior College (VJC), where she was schoolmates with fellow artiste Lee Teng. As an avid softball player, she joined Singapore's national softball team in 2000, becoming the youngest member ever to join the team. She left the team three years later. She also won the National Inter-School A Division Softball Girls championship title with VJC in 2002.

In 2003, Chin participated in MediaCorp Channel 8's Star Search Singapore television programme and emerged as overall female champion of the contest. Chin worked at MediaCorp as an actress, making her debut role in the 2003 television drama Always on My Mind. In 2006, she had her first time being the first female lead in The Beginning, a Singapore-Malaysia co-production. Chin is one of the "MediaCorp Seven Princesses" and Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes of MediaCorp.

The Celebrity

The Celebrity (An Episode) (1897) is the first novel that was published by American author Winston Churchill. It was a minor bestseller of 1898.

Plot

John Crocker has been the friend of the Celebrity, long before he became famous. During a summer retreat at Asquith resort, he runs into the Celebrity, who has taken the identity of another man for anonymity. The Celebrity meets Irene Trevor, the daughter of an Ohio atate senator, and asks her to marry him. When a more desirable female, Marian Thorn, arrives at Asquith, the Celebrity leaves her without breaking off the marriage. That goes against the moral fiber of the Celebrity's stories. Both women know his true identity as a famous writer and are familiar with his published works.

Mr. Farquhar Fenelon Cooke and his wife are wealthy and have made a summer retreat of their own named Mohair. The Celebrity leaves Asquith for Mohair to be with Marian Thorn, who is the niece of the Cookes. The slighted Irene Trevor confides in John Crocker that the Celebrity never broke up with her, and that could be used against him later.

Felicia

The name Felicia derives from the Latin adjective felix, meaning "happy", though in the neuter plural form felicia it literally means "happy things" and often occurred in the phrase tempora felicia, "happy times". The sense of it as a feminine personal name appeared in post-Classical use and is of uncertain origin. It is associated with saints, poets, astronomical objects, plant genera, fictional characters, and animals, especially cats.

Chin

The chin or the mental region is the area of the face below the lower lip and including the mandibular prominence. It tends to be smaller and more rounded in human females, while bigger and more square in human males. It is formed by the lower front of the mandible. In humans there is a wide variety of chin structures, e.g. cleft chin.

In human evolution, the chin is a cladistic apomorphy, partially defining anatomically modern humans as distinct from archaic forms. Non-human anthropoid apes have a simian shelf for example. Elephants are the only other animals considered to display such a feature, although this leads to debate over the use of the term.

The chin emerged during the Middle and Late Pleistocene, but its origin and biomechanical significance are the subjects of controversy. Prominent hypotheses include buttressing the jaw against stresses resulting from speech or chewing as well as simple sexual selection through mate choice. With the advent of more advanced computational facilities, finite element analyses have been used to support hypotheses involving mechanical stress. On the other hand, increased availability of data regarding sexual dimorphism in chins has also lent support to the sexual selection hypothesis as sexual dimorphism is more difficult to explain under other regimes. It is possible that multiple causal factors have played a role in the chin's evolution.
